My first RMT( Bulky Offense)

Hi people.

This my first RMT. I've been playing on Pokemon Showdown since November last year. It took a long time to make a good team. This is my best team so far. It almost took me to top 100 on the ladder( peaked at 1870 but i've lost many matches since then because i was testing some random teams).Anyways, onto the team

Terrakion @ Choice Band
EVs: 4 Hp 252 Atk 252 Spd
Trait: Justified
Jolly Nature

Close Combat
Stone Edge
Rock Slide
Sacred Sword

This was the starting point of the team. Choice Band Terrakion just hits so hard. I started with this thing because i wanted a good wallbreaker. I run Sacred Sword over X-Scissor because I've been in many battles where I've ran out of Close Combat PP.

Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
EVs: 252 Hp 184 Def 72 Spd
Trait: Poison Heal
Impish Nature

Earthquake
U-Turn
Taunt
Protect

This thing has a spot on the team to deal with Sand Teams as well as countering Scizor ( one of Terrakion's best checks). It also has Taunt to stop slow hazard setters. Not many people have U-Turn on Gliscor because they want that moveslot for something else like roost, toxic, ice fang etc but I didn't think I needed any of those moves so I have U-turn to get momentum.

Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
EVs: 252 Hp 188 SpDef 68 Def
Trait: Iron Barbs
Careful Nature

Spikes
Leech Seed
Thunder Wave
Power Whip

My team was weak to rain teams and I needed entry hazards. So i picked Ferrothorn as my next team member. Ferrothorn has a lot of useful resistances and can sponge Outrages and Draco Meteors. It can paralyze fast sweepers too which is great.

Heatran @ Leftovers
EVs: 252 Hp 252 SpDef 4 SpAtk
Trait: Flash Fire
Calm Nature

Stealth Rock
Lava Plume
Roar
Will-o-Wisp

I also found a big weakness to sun teams and nobody counters them better than Heatran. It also has Stealth Rock which opens up a moveslot on Ferrothorn. Roar has been useful many times against stuff like dragonite who likes to set up on heatran because most of them don't have roar.

Latios @ Choice Scarf
EVs: 4 Hp 252 SpAtk 252 Spd
Trait: Levitate
Timid Nature

Draco Meteor
Surf
Psyshock
Trick

Every team I've made has a choice scarfer because I find it good to have an answer to dragon dancers as well as other scarfers. I also noticed a huge weakness to fighitng. So i went with Latios. It outspeeds so much stuff naturally and even moer thing with a scarf. It hits pretty hard even if you don't have a power boosting item like Choice Specs or Life Orb.

Starmie @ Expert Belt
EVs: 4 Hp 252 SpAtk 252 Spd
Trait: Natural Cure
Timid Nature

Surf
Ice Beam
Rapid Spin
Thunderbolt

I thought I had all I wanted on this team. I added Starmie just because I like to have an extra insurance if I let my opponent set up entry hazards.
This thing is good at bluffing a choice set. I've had many opponents who have tried to set up on me thinking I was choiced.

Please rate this team. I have nothing more to say

Hey ReshiRampage, nice team. I felt compelled to rate it, as this is very, very similiar to my first BW OU team when I first started battling :)

First of all, you're incredibly weak to offensive Hidden Power [Ground] Volcarona, it can easily get to +1 on Starmie, Latios, and Gliscor. Once it's at +1 it outspeeds your entire team other than Latios and OHKOs your entire team, making it very easy for Volcarona to sweep your entire team as long as it's not weakened into Draco Meteor KO range. To help remedy this situation I suggest Choice Scarf over Choice Band on your current Terrakion and Choice Specs over Choice Scarf on your current Latios. With this change Terrakion now outspeeds and OHKOs +1 Volcarona, which fixes your problem completely. This change basically means Terrakion is now your revenge killer and Latios is now your wall breaker, I know Terrakion is a better wall breaker, but your Volcarona weakness is too large, and now you don't have to rely on a Pokemon easily trapped by Scizor, Tyranitar, Weavile, etc to do your revenge killing.

Offensive variants of Celebi with Giga Drain, Earth Power and Hidden Power [Ice] can give your team massive problems, it can beat pretty much everything in your team other than Latios with relative ease. I suggest making the small change of X-Scissor over Sacred Sword on Terrakion. It's a small change that doesn't help too much, but now 2 Pokemon in your team can beat Celebi 1v1, rather than 1, which helps alot. It's a rare set anyway, so changing your entire team around just to make sure you've countered that Celebi would be a bit ridiculous. Now that Terrakion is no longer your wall breaker, it won't be spamming Close Combat as much, so the issues with PP are no longer as relevant, making Sacred Sword more obsolete.

Finally, I highly recommend Toxic over U-Turn on Gliscor. Toxic allows you to actually do something to those defensive threats after you've Taunted them, making Gliscor a nice stallbreaker. Toxic also allows you to touch Flying types, and overall allows you to check far more pokemon than you could earlier. Momentum is always nice, but Toxic just offers so much more, and in reality it's usually blatantly obvious what your opponent can actually switch in to against Gliscor, so you can easily go for the double switch rather than having to U-Turn.

Anyway, I hope this rate helped and GL with the team :)

Do you really think i need Starmie. My team is not that hazard weak. I just added it because I couldn't think of anything better. Any suggestions for something different than starmie?

Since you don't have any set-up sweepers, you could try CM Keldeo over Starmie:

Keldeo @Life Orb
252 SpA|4SpD|252 Spe
Timid (-Atk, +Spe)
-Calm Mind
-Surf/Hydro Pump
-Secret Sword
-HP Ice/ Sub

If you choose to run Substitute, I would run Leftovers. For reliabilities sake, I would rather use Surf as to not miss. Also, I second The Great Mighty Doom's suggestions on your other Pokes. Nice to see someone not using weather, hope I helped and have fun with your team :)

I feel every team needs a set up sweeper, either physical or special or even both. Since your team is not actually that weak to stealth rock, you could risk getting rid of Starmie, replace it with a set up special sweeper. Alakazam, one of my all time favourite special sweeper.

Alakazam @ Life Orb
Trait: Magic Guard
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature
- Calm Mind
- Psychic
- Energy Ball
- Hidden Power [Fighting]

You could run timid nature if you prefer speed rather than power, but that's just preference it's entire up to you. You could also run Focus Blast instead of HP fight but the accuracy sucks, again, preference. Magic Guard is one of the most useful ability in my opinion. No recoil from life orb, no stealth rock damage, spikes, toxic. This thing is beast. Energy ball is really good on Alakazam since no one really expects it, since your team is weak to water type, energy ball Alakazam will surely counter it.

Other than that I like the team it's balanced.
