My First RMT [OU]

This is a team I've been working on in my freshly bought platinum. Before I finalized anything (uggh, level 100 grind) I tested it out on shoddy for a few days to see how it plays. I'm somewhat satisfied, but I feel it could be better. I'll give more detail later on each pokemon. Without further ado, here's my team at a glance:

And here's the more detailed look:

Bronzong (Invincible)
Sassy @ Leftovers (Levitate)
252 Hp, 86 Atk, 80 Def, 92 SpD
Gyro Ball
Stealth Rock
Hypnosis
Earthquake

A basic lead Bronzong taken straight from the strategy pokedex. I actually like this guy quite a bit, despite his dropping popularity. He usually gives me enough leeway to lay down rocks and switch to heatran to absorb any fire attacks that would melt bronzong's face. He is also fun to play when I'm anticipating a taunt from crobat or aerodactyl, considering I can wipe their lead out of the game with a well-anticipated gyro ball, or two if they're rocking a focus sash. Seems to work, but I'm open to suggestions.

Scizor (Assassin)
Adamant @ Life Orb (Technician)
32 Hp, 252 Atk, 224 Spe
Swords Dance
Bullet Punch
Brick Break
X-Scissor

Delicious swords dance scizor once againly shamelessly copied from the strategy pokedex. I love this guy. I've swept a good deal of teams with him, due to the brutal consequences of letting him get off a swords dance or two. I'm always open to suggestions, but I feel this guy is probably the most solid member of my team, sans maybe heatran. (Which is probably why everyone else seems to use him; I never claimed to be original)

490.png

Heatran (Hysteria)
Naive @ Choice Scarf
4 Hp, 252 SpA, 252 Spe
Flamethrower
Earth Power
Explosion
Dragon Pulse

Heatran is fantastic. He complements scizor and bronzong extraordinarily and tears things apart. Boosted flamethrower melts faces, earth power covers a lot of flamethrowers resistences, explosion makes blissey cry, and dragon pulse takes out those dastardly dragons, including kingdra. This is a pretty over-used set, and for good reason.

Tyranitar (Dead Star)
Jolly @ Life Orb
4 Hp/252 Atk/252 Spe
Dragon Dance
Stone Edge
Fire Punch
Crunch

Standard dragon dance T-Tar. I'm really not sure about this guy on my team. He has swept a few people alone after a dragon dance, but he seems to be a liability quite a bit. For one, sand stream ruins cresselia's healing ability, which makes me want to swap out T-Tar or grab another pokemon that can take a few hits in place of cresselia. He also seems to die quite a bit. Water moves, fighting moves, and grass knot seem to run rampant in OU. I'd really appreciate some help on replacements, or a better way to set this guy up if it's worth it.

479.png

Porygon-Z (Plug In Baby)
Modest @ Choice Scarf (Download)
4 Def, 252 SpA, 252 Spe
Tri Attack
Ice Beam
Thunderbolt
Dark Pulse

I'm not sure why, but it seems very few people use the Z anymore. He really ruins a lot of pokemons' days. Not sure if I like having two choice scarfers on the same team, though. He has fantastic coverage, hits rather hard, and outspeeds all but the fastest polkamen. Infernape seems to give him trouble, but I generally just swap to cresselia who tanks it like a champ. Open to corrections/replacements, as usual.

Cresselia (Starlight)
Bold @ Leftovers
4 SpA, 252 Def, 252 Hp
Reflect
Moonlight
Ice Beam
Charge Beam

Mixed feelings on this one. On one hand, I've had him kill tons of stuff by tanking/ice beam/charge beaming them down slowly. I've even managed to blow up a blissey just by stacking 5 SpA boosts and freezing it. On the other hand, sandstorm/hail makes cres cry and I've been set up on before due to my overconfidence in charge beam or ice beam. Definitely open to suggestions here.

Note:
I haven't really found any super consistent weaknesses to this team, but I've been swept just because hypnosis missed and I got set up on as well as a few other things. It feels a tad weak to kingdra utilizing rain dance and swift swim, I suppose. I've only been playing this for a few days, so maybe some weaknesses have eluded me. Any and all criticism is welcome and I thank you in advance.

Edit: Bonus points to anyone who can identify my naming scheme!

I feel that Porygon-Z can be replaced by something that can help your team more as a whole. Heatran is already serving all of your revenge killing needs while Porygon-Z is pretty frail and adds an additional Fighting weakness to your team. Porygon-Z is also stopped by very common threats that reisde in OU. Tyranitar, Heatran, Blissey, Scizor, all of those Pokemon kill Porygon-Z. Heatran will OHKO with Fire Blast. Tyranitar cab sponge up most of your atatcks and Pursuit you to death. Porygon-Z is also pretty frail as well. That position can be used by something that adds more synergy to your team. So, what Pokemon can do this? I'm thinking about Gyarados! Gyarados seems like it can work greatly on your team. Why? Well, Gyarados forms an excellent combination with Scizor, Tyranitar and Heatran since together, they resist most of each others weaknesses. Think about this as well. What counters Gyarados? Mainly Celebi and Vaporeon. Your Scizor can take out Celebi while Scizor can weaken Vaporeon enough for Gyarados to finish it off. Scizor attarcats Fire attacks right? You can go to Gyarados and set up a Dragon Dance and possibly start sweeping. You also have Heatran and Tyranitar to take Fire attacks as well. Rotom also stops Gyarados and Scizor right? Tyranitar gets rid of them. Overall, Gyarados also provides more of a cusion against threats such as Scizor, Heatran, Lucario, Infernape, and many others! Since your Tyranitar was a Dragon Dancer, let us make Gyarados a Dragon Dancer as well. I suggest using , Dragon Dance, Waterfall, Stone Edge, Earthquake, 252 Speed /252 Atatck/ 6 HP, Adamant, Leftovers. Like mentioned before, Gyarados adds a very useful Water and Fighting resist in addition to adding great synergy on your team. Gyarados can pose an offensive threat with DD and has amazing coverage with the above listed moves.

Since Gyarados is a Dragon Dancer now, I'm going to suggest changing that Tyranitar moveset to a Choice Bander. Why? Well, Choice Band Tyranitar does a couple of things. It makes sure that Rotom dies since you can Pursuit it which will OHKO if it switches out and even if it does not switch out, its dead. CB Tyranitar gets rid of Rotom, a common threat to both your Scizor and Gyarados if you use it. CB Tyranitar also gets rid of Zapdos and Celebi for Gyarados as well with Pursuit. Overall, CB Tyranitar will be trapping threats that harm Gyarados with Pursuit to allow Gyarados to sweep more easily. So, I suggest using Choice Band, 176 HP / 252 Atk / 80 Spe, Adamant, Crunch, Pursuit, Stone Edge, Aqua Tail. The 80 Speed EV's allow Tyranitar to outpace Skarmory, allowing you to Stone Edge it before it uses Roost. Pursuit is an amazing move on Tyranitar since a myriad of Pokemon dislike staying in on Tyranitar. Pursuit catches fleeing Pokemon. Some common Pokemon that try to escape from Tyranitar include Rotom, Blissey and Latias, all of which are hit extremely hard by Pursuit.Once those are gone, Gyarados and Scizor can sweep easier. Aqua Tail allows Tyranitar to break through Hippowdon and Gliscor, grabbing a nice 2HKO on both. The HP EV's give Tyranitar some durability, allowing it to stay alive longer and to take Special Attacks from the likes of Rotom and Latias more effectively.

Now, Cresselia does not like Sandstorm at all. It cuts its Moonlight recovery to 25% per use. Cresselia is the closest thing on your team that is helping you against Gyarados. Without Cresselia, Gyarados will have an easy time with you. However, like I said, Sandstorm is a liability for Cresselia. Instead of Cresselia, you can maybe try a Rotom forme? Rotom provides you with an Electric resist meaning it can take Electric attacks targeted at Gyarados. It can also Reflect to support the team just like Cresselia and use Will-O-Wisp to cripple Pokemon that love switching into Rotom such as Tyranitar. Rotom lacks a reliable recovery move as well. Basicallt, Rotom can do many of the same things Cresselia can do, mainly help against Gyarados. Try a set of Reflect, Will-O-Wisp, ThunderBolt, Shadow Ball, 252 HP / 168 Def / 88 Spe, Bold Nature, Leftovers. With Will-O-Wsip and Reflect, Rotom can take care of Tyranitar and be incredibly hard t take down. ThunderBolt allows you to OHKO Gyarados and Shadow Ball is for more STAB and to hit opposing Ghost types. Rotom fits pretty wel into your team as well.
