Hey,
I mad this team yesterday, it's one of my firsts. I'm not really good at teambuilding yet since I'm a beginner, so I decided to post it here, maybe I get some advice and suggestions :) So here it is:
Garchomp @ Lum Berry
Rough Skin
252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Outrage
The only reason I put Garchomp on this team is because I needed a hazard setter. He does a fairly good job at a Stealth Rock setter and helps wearing down the enemy Pokémon with the combination of Rough Skin and Rocky Helmet even more. I usually only use him early game, so Swords Dance is maybe not the best move, since I rarely got an opportunity for setting up. He's got Earthquake and Outrage, two extremely powerful STAB attack, coming from a really good attack stat, so if he's got a chance, he can deal a decent amount of damage even without SD.
Infernape @ Life Orb
Iron Fist
168 Atk / 88 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Fire Blast
- Close Combat
- Mach Punch
- Grass Knot
Mixed Infernape is a decent wallbreaker, but to be honest, after the first couple of matches, he became sort of dead-weight to my team. However I don't want to replace it if it's not necessary, because it's really a good Pokémon. He's in a pretty good speed tier with a base 108 Spe, and base 104 attacking stats are quite decent as well. With a Life Orb he can cause some serious damage. I also made some calculations:
I might replace Grass Knot with Thunderpunch to better deal with bulky water types, especially with Gyarados and AV Azumarill.
Latios @ Life Orb
Levitate
252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Calm Mind
- Roost
I wanted to use Latios as a hazard remover, but I couldn't put Defog on this set, so I use a more offensive variant, that clearly fits Latios better. 252 SpA Life Orb Latios OHKO's Calm Mind Landorus with Draco Meteor, and 2HKO's it at +2. Chansey is 3HKO'd by Psyshock, and I use Surf to deal with Heatran, in case Infernape can't switch in. Roost is obviously for maintaining longevity.
Azumarill @ Assault Vest
Huge Power
240 HP / 252 Atk / 16 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Play Rough
- Waterfall
- Aqua Jet
- Knock Off
Azumarill is an amazing physical attacker and with an Assault Vest it gets additional special bulk. Play Rough OHKO's Conkeldurr, most Garchomp sets (though 'Chomp outspeeds Azumarill), Mega Lopunny, and Mega Gyarados. After Stealth Rock damage it's capable to 2HKO Mega Sableye, which I think proves, how powerful it is. (But everyone knows it, so doesn't matter xD). Aqua Jet makes Azumarill az excellent revenge killer, and it makes his pityful speed somewhat better. Removing opponents' items is always useful, so the last move is Knock Off, instead of Icepunch or Superpower.
Scizor @ Scizorite
Technician
248 HP / 60 Def / 200 SpD
Impish Nature
- Defog
- Roost
- Bullet Punch
- U-Turn
Scizor is my mega pokémon, and I choose to run a defensive set with defog and roost. It has a fully defensive EV investment, and with his overall bulk and a lot of steel type resistances it can come in on multiple hits, then heal back with Roost. Scizor is actually there to support Infernape, it can remove Stealth Rocks with Defog, helps 'Ape to switch in with U-Turn and uses Bullet Punch to get rid of fairies. It's 4x Fire weakness can be played around by basically every other member of the team.
Keldeo @ Leftovers
Justified
4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Substitute
- Calm Mind
- Scald
- Secret Sword
Originally, I wanted to build a team around Infernape, but in thd, Keldeo became my star. It uses a more defensive SubCM set with Leftovers, and it's really effective. Given the opportunity to set up a Substitute and a few Calm Minds, and it becames nearly unstoppable. At +2, it can OHKO MegazardX, Mega Lopunny, Ferrothorn, Chansey, Skarmory, etc. I use Scald over Hydro Pump for the 30% burn. (But of course I only get those burns, when I'm facing special attackers.)
So that's it. I know, I have a crucial fairy type weakness, once Scizor is gone, there's nothing that can stop them. I'm thinking about replacing Garchomp with Landorus-T, and also replacing Infernape or Keldeo with something.
