My First RMT (Rain Dance)

Hey this is my first RMT so it probably isn't that good especially since I suck at team building. Please be constructive in your response and please help improve the team.

jirachi.png

Jirachi @Damp Rock
Serene Grace
EV's: 142 HP, 252 Atk, 128 Spd.
Nature-Jolly
-Rain Dance
-Stealth Rocks
-Iron Head
-U-Turn

Jirachi is a great pokemon to set up for a Rain Dance team. Its bulkyness allows it to take hits while it sets up. Basically sets up both Rain Dance and Steath Rocks then flinch hax's the crap out of the other pokemon or just u-turn the hell out of there. It has enough EV's in speed to outspeed neutral base 95's. Stops both Abomasnow and Tyranitar in their tracks and gets rid of both of their weather conditions

omastar.png

Omastar @Life Orb
Swift Swim EV's: 6 HP, 252 Atk, 252 Spd.
Nature-Modest
-Surf
-Hidden Power Electric
-Ice Beam
-Earth Power

This thing shines in the rain. Surf does a crap load to pokemon that aren't ready for such a massive attack under rain. Hidden Power Electric takes care of Gyarados and other water pokemon that think they can easily come into it. Ice Beam is for the obvious dragons out there except for Kingdra. Earth Power takes out any other pokemon that comes in its way.

kingdra.png

Kingdra @Leftovers
Swift Swim
EV's: 182 HP, 252 Atk, 76 Spd.
Nature-Adamant
-Rain Dance
-Dragon Dance
-Waterfall
-Outrage

With so much bulk under its belt why not double dance. I was thinking maybe impish and run a defensive spread but Adamant supports the raw power that Waterfall can do under rain with stab. Very easy to switch in since it only has one weakness and I doubt anyone would switch in Kingdra into a dragon pokemon. Don't know weather to keep lefty's or give it Damp Rock for Rain Dance support.

ludicolo.png

Ludicolo @Leftovers
Rain Dish
EV's: 204 HP, 106 Def, 76 Sp. Atk, 124 Sp.Def
Nature-Calm
-Rain Dance
-Leech Seed
-Toxic
-Grass Knot

This mexican duck thing is freaking sexy when it comes to stalling/annoying. It's also my third Rain Dance set upper. Toxic then leech seed which forces a switch and if you predict well enough you can get a toxic on the switch in. Leftovers+Rain Dish+Leech Seed= Almost undefeated unless a Scizor comes in and X-Scissors or U-Turns on his ass.

dragonite.png

Dragonite @Leftovers
Inner Focus
EV's: 248 HP, 54 Spd, 208 Sp.Def
Nature-Calm
-Dragon Pulse
-Heal Bell
-Thunder Wave
-Roost

I fell in love with this set when I saw RL's thread on Dragonite. I decided to use it and it works so well with this team. The second more than one pokemon has a damn status problem this beauty comes in and saves the day with heal bell. Thunder wave stops many sweepers in there tracks as this bulky beast takes their hits. Not only that Roost off any damage and hope for the para hax to kick in anytime soon.

electivire.png

Electivire @Expert Belt
Motor Drive
EV's: 76 Atk, 180 Spd. , 252 Sp.Atk
Nature-Mild
-Thunder
-Cross Chop
-Hidden Power Grass
-Ice Punch

There is only one pokemon weak to electric on my team which is Omastar but there seem to be so many pokemon running thunder wave nowadays. Cross Chop deals with blissey which seems to be a major problem on my team and will probably switch into this once they see a special move on this. Makes a great revenge killer once Motor Drive kicks in.

Problems
  • I don't know why I have problems with scizor on this team. Possibly because their are no fire moves on the team
  • Vaporeon and Celebi wall the crap out of this team. Omastar and Electivire seem to be the only one's on the team that can deal with them.
  • Once Evire and Kingdra are gone a sp.walls make this team useless. However Ludicolo can toxic stall them.

Jirachi @Damp Rock
Serene Grace
EV's: 142 HP, 252 Atk, 128 Spd.
Nature-Jolly
-Rain Dance
-Stealth Rocks
-Iron Head
-U-Turn

Here I would recommend almost entirely changing your moves. Since it's a rain dance team, why not take advantage of this with Rain Dance, Thunder, Water Pulse and Psychic. Thunder has 100% accuracy and 60% paralysis rate. Water Pulse takes advantage of the rain, with handy confusion rate too. Psychic aso has STAB and a chance to lower their SpDef.

that's about all I can find wrong. nice team!

Try ice beam on ludicolo to hit other grass types, dual types that resist toxic completly wall you. Put it over grass knot.

Yea seems more viable. I'll make changes later, i'm on my wii

Yeah that's better considering its a Rain Dance Team.

Psychic is no more viable on Rain Dance Jirachi than regular Jirachi, and it's not very viable.

Jirachi's EV spread looks really wierd to me. If I were you, I'd spring for this alternative:

Jirachi@Damp Rock
Bold Nature
EVs: 252 HP/80 Def/176 SpD
~Rain Dance
~Thunder
~U-turn
~Wish/Water Pulse

This is much more bulky and effective as a lead. Rain Dance, then either spam Thunder or U-turn out. Very simple, defensive EVs give strong mixed defences. Wish gives you survivability and can help out the rest of your team as well as Jirachi himself, while Water Pulse has a good chance of confusing the opponent and works well with Thunder for a nasty Paraflinch Combo. I left Stealth Rock off this; you'll see why when you read on.

Something you lack is a mid-game Rain replenisher, something that can refresh the rain after Jirachi goes down. Jirachi is bulky enough to set it up a couple of times but it won't last forever especially with no form of instant healing, so I'd reccommend a Rain Dance Bronzong over Ludicolo, since Stall isn't a great tactic in the fast-paced playstyle of Rain and you're very Special heavy and may have issues with Blissey; Ludicolo cannot Toxi-stall her thanks to Natural Cure.

Bronzong@Damp Rock
Impish
EVs: 252 HP/128 Atk/128 Def
~Explosion
~Stealth Rock
~Rain Dance
~Reflect

Sets up Stealth Rock, a quick Rain Dance and then blows up. You can use Reflect as well, and this may help your Scizor problems (although with Kingdra I don't know why you have problems with him). 128 Atk garuntees Explosion will kill Snorlax.

That's all I can suggest for now.

Oh crap I didnt see Psychic. But yeah your set seems alot better but I might make some changes to it later. I'll consider Zong but I really like my Duck thing. Maybe making a SDer.
Rain Dance
Swords Dance
Waterfall/SeedBomb
Ice Punch??

Try it by all means, Jirachi is probably bulky enough to act as a mid-game dancer as well although I can't say I reccommend it. SD Ludicolo sounds good though. Although as a Swords Dancer you may want to try out the powerful Kabutops.

I completely forgot about him. But I dont think he's bulky enough to set up RD
