Well I'm kind of new to competitive Pokemon, I started when Black and White were released in Japan. Since then I've made a lot of teams but this one, by far, has been my favorite. When using this team i can really only get up to 1250 points on the PO server, maybe a little higher. I'm looking for your advice to get past that mark and hopefully get a lot further.
The Team
----------------------------
Sableye (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Recover
- Will-O-Wisp
- Taunt
- Night Shade
I love this poke so much, it is SO much fun to use. I try to keep him around for as long as possible just to cripple walls and physical attackers. His Prankster ability lets all non attacking moves have priority. For his EV spread, nature, and item it is to maximize his bulk to tank those physical hits, get some nice recovery going on and stall other pokes out. Move wise theres Recover to get sableye back to a nice portion of health to keep him around for as long as possible. Will-O-Wisp to cripple physical attackers and just anything i can burn. Taunt to shut down walls and set up sweepers. Finally night shade to just do some set damage to make things go buy just a little bit quicker.
Garchomp (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Sand Veil
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Fire Blast
Well chomp has always been a favorite of mine so I try to use him as much as i can. Standard scarf chomp EV's and such, 252 attack and speed to max its potential with a jolly nature and a choice scarf. Chomp makes a great revenge killer with his STAB Outrage and Earthquake. I use stone edge to get rid of those annoying flying types and levitaters, though i mainly put stone edge on to get rid of Volcarona. Finally fire blast to get rid of steels such as Nattorei, Skarmory, Genosect. I really like Garchomp so I'm having no problems with it thus far, i don't see much changed needed for this but if you have advice for it go ahead and suggest it.
Birijion (Virizion) @ Life Orb
Trait: Justified
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Giga Drain
- Focus Blast
- Hidden Power [Ice]
This is one Poke who served me justice when i first used him but now it just doesn't seem to be working as well. Started special sweeper EV's and nature to maximize its speed and special attack. Originally i had it's item as leftovers to keep him alive longer but a lot of the time he'd just almost kill something and i felt he needed that extra power from a life orb. He can be fairly bulky when i set up a calm mind or 2 and then that is where it works out. Calm mind is there to obviously set up, giga drain is for a nice stab and to regain lost hp from the life orb or from setting up. Focus blast is there as a secondary stab move, its powerful but its accuracy is shaky, though overall i don't mind it. Hidden power ice is there for those dragons and flyers that would wall me otherwise. As i said this poke's performance has been so-so, I'm looking for suggestions for this.
Heatran (M) @ Air Balloon
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Stealth Rock
When adding this poke i really needed a poke to take the fire attacks aimed at Birijion and Heracross. This was actually the last addition to my team and at the time i didn't have stealth rocks so i decided to put them on this too. Timid nature to make him a little faster and 252 special attack and speed EVs to make him offensive, though he isn't that fast anyway. Fire blast is there to be a strong STAB move. It's accuracy can be a little annoying so I've considered changing it to Lava Plume, the burn chance is nice too. Earth power there as a secondary stab move and to hit other Heatran or fire types who come in. Hidden power ice to hit those dragons and flyers. Stealth rocks there just to get them up even if it may be mid battle, though i try to bring it out earlier in the battle to set them up. Overall this works pretty well.
Azumarill (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Huge Power
EVs: 232 HP / 252 Atk / 12 Def / 12 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Aqua Jet
- Ice Punch
- Superpower
- Waterfall
This poke, oh this poke. It does justice. Adamant Choice banded Azumarill is just so stupidly strong, its amazing. Adamant nature, choice band, and 252 attack EV's to maximize Azumarill's power. 232 HP EV's, 12 Def and 12 Sdef EV's to make it bulky because Azumarill just isn't fast at all. Aqua jet for priority which is so helpful in this metagame. Ice punch to catch those dragons on the switch which IS going to 1hit it. If i don't know whats going to be coming out i usually just use this, whatever switches in is going to get hurt. Waterfall is the main STAB attack for this azumarill. No complaints about this poke, it just works so well.
Heracross (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Guts
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Megahorn
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- Sleep Talk
I really wish I knew why I added this poke in the first place. This is actually the poke i made this team around to begin with, I just decided I wanted to use a scarfed Heracross. This has served me OK, I wouldn't mind switching it out for something else. I originally had this as a scarfed moxie Heracross but as I used him it just didn't work because people would switch out pokes to resist whatever I was locked into losing my attack boost. I just felt a guts version would be better as a status absorber and for sleep talk because i was getting annoyed by all the Brelooms. Adamant nature just to get that little extra power and max attack and speed, standard. Megahorn and Close Combat as the main stabs for this set. Stone edge was really just put in for a filler move and sleep talk for Brelooms and such.
Final Words: Well that was the team, as you can see it is very offensive so I'd like to try to keep it that way. I'm open to all criticism and suggestions. Thank you for looking at my team =D
