ORAS UU My First RMT

Hello and welcome to my first RMT! After weeks of testing teams, I’ve come up with this team that I really enjoy, so I wanted to share so I can get feedback and ratings to make it better. The main things I'm looking to replace/change are my mega, and Mamoswine.

Absol.gif
MindGames (Absol-Mega) @ Absolite

Ability: Magic Bounce

EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

Jolly Nature

- Sucker Punch

- Knock Off

- Play Rough

- Superpower

For a while I switched between this and M-Beedrill, but I decided to go with this after realizing that Bee lacks priority and can be outsped by scarfers. I'm running the Knock Off and Sucker Punch combo to deal with set up mons and overall shutdown sets that rely on items. I'm running play rough mainly to revenge kill Mence/Hax and certain fight/dark types before set up such as Crawdaunt. The same could be said for Superpower, which I also run for the steel types.

salamence.gif
Corrin (Salamence) @ Lum Berry

Ability: Moxie

Shiny: Yes

EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

Jolly Nature

- Outrage

- Dragon Dance

- Earthquake

- Iron Tail
Its Mence. Not much to say here. Lum= free DD, free DD means a kill, kill means moxie, which= more kills and more moxie. I have a moveset that will take care of fairies and shut down anything else. Outrage is standard STAB move that KO's everything.

zapdos.gif

ZappedToykey (Zapdos) @ Leftovers

Ability: Pressure

EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD

Modest Nature

- Thunderbolt

- Volt Switch/Air Cutter

- Defog

- Roost

This acts as a semi support and damage dealer. Thunderbolt deals heavy damage and most mons in the tier have trouble dealing with it. I run Defog to prevent sticky web because it cripples my team, and roost to keep Zapdos going because it really keeps my team in good condition. Once again, I have a switching move for momentum.

mamoswine.gif

Catch These Tusks (Mamoswine) @ Life Orb

Ability: Thick Fat

EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

Adamant Nature

- Earthquake

- Icicle Crash

- Knock Off

- Ice Shard

This is my main mon for killing sweepers. Ice Shard is and easy shutdown to the dragon types of the tier, and annoying life orb/CB mons can be stopped by knock off. Obviously Earthquake is just staple, a nice STAB coverage move. The life orb adds extra power, becase I feek like sash isnt necessary as long as I can take 1 hit.

infernape.gif

InfernoApe (Infernape) @ Life Orb

Ability: Blaze

Shiny: Yes

EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

Timid Nature

- Nasty Plot

- Fire Blast

- Vacuum Wave

- Grass Knot

The special Infernape set is defineitely my favorite UU set. Pretty much every Infernape is physical, so right off the bat this thing has an advantage. Most people will send in physical walls, so I can set up a free NP. Grass Knot is extremely good for finishing Suicune, Vaporeon, etc. The priority is an amazing revenge killer and Fire Blast deals heavy damage to everyone.

azelf.gif
AzureElf (Azelf) @ Life Orb

Ability: Levitate

Shiny: Yes

EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

Timid Nature

- Psychic

- Stealth Rock

- Fire Blast

- Thunderbolt

This is usually my lead mon, since Azelf’s amazing speed almost gurantees rocks or a first hit. I run many coverage moves to surprise most leads, and obviously rocks to gain momentum in the match.

Threats-

aggron-mega.gifMega Aggron usually leads or has a role in early game, which is when I usually lead with Azelf or set up with Infernape. Azelf does not OHKO with fire blast, and Infernape has trouble OHKO'ing unless he has a NP up.

ninjask.gif Fast Mons. Anything that outspeeds Haxorus (after DD), Mega Absol, or Infernape, is a huge threat, because all of those are very frail and will probably be OHKO'ed.
mienshao.gif Mienshao and other fighting types destroy this team. Scarfed Shao outspeeds and OHKOs Azelf, and if Azelf is down, nothing on my team hits it for x2 damage besides absol, and a puny air cutter from Zapdos. This thing is definitely this biggest weakness and ive lost a lot of games bc of it.

Hey bud, the team looks really threatening! Depending on your preference, I have some changes, although there is nothing too drastic:

Running Defog on HO teams is a bit counter intuitive, as we would rather have rocks on both sides than none. Yes, Webs are a pain, but Galvantula is quite rare and M-Absol can slightly deter hazards. If you go this route, we can tweak Zapdos and make it more offensive:

145.png

  • 252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 Def with Timid Nature maximizes speed and power, which fits the offensive theme of the team
  • Hidden Power Grass over Defog to avoid giving Swampert and Mamoswine free set up and switch ins, M-Pert under the rain just claims kill after kill on this team, so the goal is to not allow it to set up at all or put it in Sucker Punch or Ice Shard range after set up.
  • Heat Wave over Volt Switch is an option to avoid being total fodder for Grasses, mainly M-Scep.
  • Expert Belt/Life Orb over Lefties to maximize power, although Expert Belt hits weaker but mitigates wear-down caused by LO

latest

  • Swords Dance over Play Rough makes Absol a terrifying sweeper at +2. Superpower already takes care of Darks, and SD makes Absol much harder to wall at +2 than a simple all out attacking set
482.png

  • Energy Ball over Tbolt is an option to hit Krook and again, prevent M-Pert from setting up. However, keeping Tbolt is fine considering Empoleon defogs for free otherwise.
If you really want to keep Defog, then you can still run HP Grass over Volt Switch. I hope these changes help!

Hey, thanks a lot! The changes really helped, especially Zapdos.
