Hello, everyone, and welcome to my first RMT. When it comes to teambuilding, I dedicate all the time I’m not studying or working to it, so, even though this team helped me win a nice amount battles, it may contain some flaws, in which case, I’ll be grateful for any feedback.
The Team

Nihilego @ Focus Sash
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
IVs: 0 Atk
Timid Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic Spikes
- Sludge Wave
- Power Gem
Entry hazards are a must for this team’s goal, so I chose Nihilego for the job. This way, I made sure to set at least Stealth Rock, so Focus Sash users don’t turn into a problem later on. Besides, if it’s given the chance, it can deal some extra damage with either of it’s STAB attacks, or just set up Toxic Spikes, to cripple any incoming bulky pokémon.

Metagross @ Metagrossite
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Meteor Mash
- Ice Punch
- Zen Headbutt
- Bullet Punch
Mega Metagross is what I built this team around. The objective is to send it out and let it do what it does better: KO anything in sight. Meteor Mash and Zen Headbutt for STAB. I decided to run Ice Punch over Earthquake to deal with Dragon-types, like Hydreigon, and bulky Grass-types. Finally, Bullet Punch for the always useful priority.

Magnezone @ Assault Vest
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 128 HP / 252 SpA / 128 Spe
IVs: 0 Atk / 30 SpA / 30 Spe
Modest Nature
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power Fire
- Flash Cannon
- Thunderbolt
I realized something important: if I want to sweep with Metagross, I needed someone to deal with Steel-types… and the first word that came to my mind was Magnezone. Magnet Pull and HP Fire trap and remove Mega Scizor and Ferrothorn. I first thought of using a standard Choice Specs set, but I wanted to keep momentum by tapping Volt Switch on the next turn, so I changed it to an Assault Vest.

Landorus-Therian (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Stone Edge
- Knock Off
Since I had Magnezone on the team, I decided to use a VoltTurn core by including Landorus-T. Also, with access to Knock Off, it’s able to damage Psychic-types that could wall Metagross, and it’s always a nice move to spam. Stone Edge provides coverage alongside Earthquake, and deal with Fire-types that threaten Metagross.

Gyarados (M) @ Flyinium Z
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 88 HP / 220 Atk / 24 Def / 176 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Bounce
- Waterfall
- Earthquake
With no way to deal with Ground-types that could take down Metagross, like an opposing Landorus-T or Excadrill, I chose Gyarados as the next team member. Since the Mega slot was occupied, Flyinium Z was the item of choice. Flyinium Z + Bounce is to deal with a Grass-type or Fighting-type switch-in that expects a Mega Gyarados. Earthquake is there to hit Poison-types such as Toxapex.

Tapu Bulu @ Choice Band
Ability: Grassy Surge
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Wood Hammer
- Horn Leech
- Superpower
- Megahorn
And, as the last member, comes Tapu Bulu, with a standard Choice Band set. Wood Hammer is, by itself, a really strong move, but under Grassy Terrain influence, hits like a truck. Horn Leech gives a way to recover some HP instead of suffering recoil. Superpower is in case of a predicted Steel-type switch-in, and Megahorn to damage Grass-types.
And with this, we’re done. Thank you for reading this far, and if you give me any ideas on how to improve my team, I’d really appreciate it.
Have a nice day :D
