Analytic Zone

Introduction:
This is my first time posting an RMT and my first real shot at team building. I've played showdown for a while now but I stuck to pre made teams. I've gotten myself up to the 1500s but struggle pushing further bc I'm simply not that good and tilt my way back down to the 1350s. I decided to build my own team bc unlike gen8 where I found a team I enjoyed using, I haven't been able to find this come gen9. Idk I feel like the meta pokemon aren't that fun to play.
Teambuilding Process:
I initially wanted to build around Toxtricity but on seeing the great Joey Pokeaim had already done this I decided to go for the agent Magnezone who has done a commendable job climbing out of RU.

Magnezone @ Choice Specs
Ability: Analytic
Tera Type: Fighting
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpA
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Flash Cannon
- Thunderbolt
- Tera Blast
- Volt Switch
Magnezone is analytic bc I decided trapping Corv is alr but the other steels in the tier (Gholdengo) my Mag would have to use tera to beat it or run AV or something. It also didn't feel worth to bring a phys def Mag to trap Scizor and Gambit and Treads would beat Mag 1v1. Anyway I settled on analytic specs max, max pretty much to be bulky and do as much damage as possibly. Analytic means anything switching in gets obliterated except for AV mons mainly Treads and also Clodsire and Ting-Lu. Tank chomp takes 76-90 and phys def Tusk is a guaranteed OHKO. Tera Fighting is because it Zone is so fat and can remove Gambit and Roaring moon etc.
Meowscarada @ Choice Band
Ability: Protean
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Sucker Punch
- U-turn
- Flower Trick
I went Meowscarada next. Band bc I wanted it to hit hard and remove stuff idrk what to say. Meowscarada bc volt-turn and allows Magnezone to come in safely especially bc things like Great Tusk arent gonna want to come in on a Scarada and the other things like Corv and Pex are nice for Zone to come in on. Scarada also has knock which is a valuable.
Corviknight @ Covert Cloak
Ability: Pressure
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Brave Bird/ Iron Head
- U-turn
- Roost
- Defog
I went Corv + Tusk as my defensive core. Corv can u-turn slow and is ground immunity for the team. I went spdf on Corv as Tusk deals with most physicals and covert cloak means Corv can sit on Gholdengo and Garg who I both dislike facing. It also can sit forever on Clodsire and Ting-Lu who Mag dislikes. I am not sure if I should run Iron Head on Corv to try and pressure tera water on Garg but its not crazy amounts of damage and Corv is mainly acting as a slow u-turn pivot out to other mons.
Great Tusk @ Leftovers
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Fighting
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Knock Off
- Rapid Spin
Great Tusk is that Pokemon. It has great synergy with Corv, is just the improves lando-T. Has rocks and hazard control. Tusk can come in on Ting-Lu and remove leftovers, come in on clods after pivot to Corv and threaten with eq which is perfect for Magnezone. Despite not wanting to use all the boring mons in my team its hard to go past a mon with 53% usage and such a solid role in this meta.
Dondozo @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
Tera Type: Grass
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Curse
- Wave Crash
- Body Press
- Rest
Dondozo is one of my fav mons to use on teams this Gen. Its fat ass plus unaware means it doesn't die to anything. I like curse rest as a defensive mon as it sets up to counter phys attackers tusk can handle and has some max spdf incase corv gets overwhelmed. It can also just win games what a guy. I counters volc given its not giga (i dont see many but giga volc is scary) and it helps against rain and set up sweepers, two things i don't like counter playing and am glad I can simply switch in the don.
Dragapult @ Choice Specs
Ability: Infiltrator
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Shadow Ball
- Flamethrower
- U-turn
Last I went Pult. It provides good speed control for the team as well as being another u-turner for the team. Pult can clean late game if Zone breaks the spdf walls for pult aswell as Pult can pressure in Clods to u turn low and try and keep the pressure on. Timid bc speed is needed and dropping to modest isn't worth not outspeeding ace, gren, etc. Tera ghost just makes shadow ball more evil.
Threats:
I feel the team is real weak to Pao but I'm just kind of on the ban bandwagon and hope he gets removed. Pretty much have to tera to beat it. If its SD dozo lives two. Esparthra is also scary, Dozo can kind of and Dragapult if it comes in on hard. If tera Fairy Zone lives most hits but mostly espathra is gg for me. I haven't play tested this team a way amount so it's not fully threat analysed.
Conclusion:
First team, is pretty fun. Help would be greatly appreciated. (even if its just the team is somewhat alr so I can play it with some belief and know me losing is just my poor skill) Thanks!
