Hi! I'm Dawnrider, and I joined just recently. I learned most of my stuff while playing, and I've finally got a good team, but it still loses every now and then. Any way I can improve this team?
Electrode @ Life Orb
Ability: Static
EVs: 6 HP, 252 Def, 252 SpA
Nature: Adamant
Taunt
Explosion
Thunderbolt
Substitute
This guy is really purposeless. Most of the people out there who love to set up entry hazards get turned off by my fast taunt. Then Electrode explodes, killing the lead before taunt wears off. Switch, and I'll just kill that. I never really gave Substitute a purpose in my moveset here, so if anyone can tell me what to switch substitute with, that'd be great.
Azelf @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Def, 252 Spe, 6 SpD
Nature: Timid
Explosion
Hidden Power
Nasty Plot
Psychic
Azelf is a sweepr, and really not much else. He's got nasty plot and psychic on his side for a great stat-up + STAB, and I gave him hidden-power fighting for the ones resisting Psychic. I have explosion on him for emergencies only, since I couldn't find any other useful move.
Gardevoir @ Leftovers
Ability: Trace
EVs: 252 HP, 32 Spe, 48 SpA, 176 SpD
Nature: Adamant
Psychic
Thunderbolt
Will-o-wisp
Wish
Gardevoir is a strictly supportive pokemon. Honestly, I think that it breaks my offensive momentum, but it really doesn't matter much; it's been able to do a bit of it's own sweeping, Will-o-wisp is great for those pesky pokemon who resist both psychic and thunderbolt; wish is for when pokemon are stalling.
Heracross @ Salac Berry
Ability: Guts
EVs: 252 Atk; 126 SpA; 126 Spe; 6 Def
Nature: Lonely
Close Combat
Megahorn
Stone Edge
Toxic
Heracross, as weird as his moveset is, actually works. I've been sweeping using him without any stat-boosting moves, and toxic usually takes care of the ones that resist this guy. I'm still not sure whether Stone Edge is a special move or not, so please tell me if it is, then I can switch teh EVs.
*UPDATE* Thanks for telling me!
Gliscor @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Hyper Cutter
EVs: 6 Atk; 252 Def, 252 Speed
Nature: Adamant
Swords Dance
Earthquake
Aerial Ace
Roost
Gliscor is my best pokemon; it has been swordsdancing and sweeping it's way to victory almost every time. One thing I noticed is that people must think Sandveil is more commonly used, since there are sandstorm teams out there. However, I use Hyper Cutter to prevent the lowering of attack. Then I sweep, using Roost to heal, and occasionally stall.
Gyarados @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk, 6 def, 252 Spe
Moves
Dragon Dance
Waterfall
Ice Fang
Stone Edge (Might switch to Earthquake)
Gyarados is another favorite of mine; he always manages to kill off at least one pokemon in a battle. Stone edge, while powerful, might get switched out for Earthquake, due to electric types always killing my Gyarados. If someone could judge my decision on that one, please do.
Well, this is my team! One thing to note is I haven't got any gimmicks; no stalls, no bellydrumming, etc. It's just this all-round offensive team. If you can rate my team, please do. I could use the help!
