My first team (1200)

Hello guys, i played pokemon games. And now im into comp pokemon.

I tried to form a team. The aim of this team is to switch to the sweeper after doing minor damage with chip and clearing the area with defog.
Togekiss and teapot are my favorite pokemons. Therefore, I wanted to establish a team that included them.

togekiss.gif

KFC (Togekiss) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Air Slash
- Trick
- Roost
- Flamethrower

Togekiss is king of utility. Fliches enemies to death, scarfing defansive pokemons or setup sweepers (esp. Calm Mind Clef.) EVs are cookie-cutter for this one.

- Air Slash -> Go to attack, clicking this most of the time.
- Trick -> Scarfing
- Roost
- Flamethrower -> Coverage (Steel esp.)

tombalaci (Landorus-Therian) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 164 Def / 92 Spe
Impish Nature
- Defog
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Knock Off

C'mon now, we all know why. Great typing, ele immunity etc. Also i needed a defogger for teapot sweep so i added defog here. Also i cut toxic for knock off since this team is too offensive for toxic stall.

i hate ferro (Ferrothorn) @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 80 Def / 176 SpD
Careful Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Leech Seed
- Gyro Ball
- Spikes
- Stealth Rock

Gyro ball is good STAB, hits hard. Ferro is a great phys wall with awesome typing. Our team's hazard setter.

polteageist.gif

Spooky Pants (Polteageist) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Weak Armor
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Shell Smash
- Shadow Ball
- Stored Power
- Giga Drain

Alakazam probably better sweeper than teapot but i love it so much, so why not. Classical EV spread and classical moveset, nothing special here.

tapu-lele.gif

Aku (Tapu Lele) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Psychic Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psyshock
- Moonblast
- Focus Blast
- Psychic

Main purpose of this mon is setting terrain so teapot wont get revenge killed by priority moves. Also sometimes it can sweep on its own. Cookie cutter build only i added a focus blast, since i don't use body press on ferro or aura sphere on togekiss.

rotom-wash.gif

warranty (Rotom-Wash) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 168 Def / 88 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Pain Split
- Will-O-Wisp

rotom is a great bulky pivot and type coverage. also sometimes acts as a speacial wall. Volt switch chips dmg for easier sweep too. Good pokemon overall.

Since i'm noob, i need help with EVs and movesets specially. Also what pokemons can break this team? Thanks in advance for the feedback and corrections.

Hi, welcome to Smogon! I am locking your RMT for the time being as the forum rules require that you provide at least three lines of descriptions for each Pokemon to explain their roles. Please read the rules carefully and look at Team Showcase to see the detail we require. PM me with updated descriptions, and I will be happy to unlock this.

Why did you choose this mon
What do the EV spreads do and why do you have it
What are all 4 moves for

Nice! Polteageist is actually a potent sweeper, and in some cases even better than Alakazam

Ok, so I have some minor changes for your team.

On

, you should try removing the speed EVs and chucking them into SpD instead. The 88speed EVs help you outspeed Adamant Scizor which isn't really common in the meta. Even if you do run into a Scizor I would be surprised if it if an offensive version, especially after Kyurem is banned.

Finally, this change isn't just for

but for any Pokémon that is weak to stealth rock. DO NOT use 252 HP EVs on it. Doing so would result in an even amount of HP for the Pokémon in question and thus means that mon would only have two or four switch ins with stealth rock, depending on how weak they are. Instead, only put in 248 HP so that the HP would be an odd number which would round down the HP and thus result in one more stealth rock switch in. If that mon in question does not use HP EVs, then just make sure its HP is odd for the reason mentioned earlier. (I copy and pasted this from the replies in my own RMT, shoutout to Red Raven )

That's a dope answer thanks! esp. stealth rock tip is insane.
