----- Sorry for my bad english -----

Hy everyone.

I write here because I want to build my first team to play in the Wi-fi connection.

Untill now I've red many articles, and many descriptions of the pokemon in this site, but I think I need your help to build something that I like to play with but that will also be usefull on the OU battleflied.

Let's start...

----- Sorry for my bad english -----

1. My first choice is Venusaur.

Choice Scarf

3.png

Nature: Timid
Item: Choice Scarf
EVs: 56 HP / 252 SpA / 200 Spe

Sleep Powder
Leaf Storm
Sludge Bomb
Earthquake

I think you will say that's not a good start, but well he's not so bad, and he's my favorite, so please can you help me build a team around him?
Anyway what will this pokemon do? As said on smogon:
"Choice Scarf and the above EV spread put Venusaur at 405 Speed. This makes him a fabulous lead with his fast Sleep Powder which is only beaten by Choice Scarf Gengar."
Venusaur is weak to Flying, Fire, Psychic and Ice, so maybe my opponent will use one of this attack to hit me. To prevent this I'll use one of this water type pokemon with an offensive moveset:

2. Feraligator
Swords Dance

160.png

Nature: Jolly
Item: Salac Berry (or it's better with: Leftovers?)
EVs: 6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe

Swords Dance
Waterfall
Ice Punch
Earthquake

3. After I've red many articles saying that's important to have. Well, I had to chose one pokemon for Rapid Spin and Spike I tought that Forretress could be the best solution:
Standard

Nature: Relaxed
Item: Shed shell
EVs: 252 HP / 112 Atk / 144 Def

Toxic Spikes / Spikes
Gyro Ball / Earthquake
Rapid Spin
Explosion / Reflect / Rest
4. Dusknoir

5. Azelf

I want to use Azelf to deal damage but maybe also Stealth Rock is usefull: what do you suggest me?
Stealth Rock
Stealth Rock
Psychic
Explosion
Fire Blast

or

Life Orb
Explosion
Psychic
Flamethrower
Grass Knot
6. Pikachu
Mixed sweeper

Nature: Hasty
Item: Light Ball
EVs: 152 Atk / 104 SpA / 252 Spe

Thunderbolt
Brick Break
Grass Knot / Hidden Power Ice
Substitute

Add moveset, nature, item, and what they do or it will get locked in seconds.

For Venusaur, I'd recomend replacing Leaf Storm with Seed Bomb, and Sleep Powder with something like Toxic, and switch out to Forretress to wall them to death.

For a moveset to Electivire I'd recomend:
Adamant/Jolly nature @ Life orb
Ice Punch
Thunderpunch
Magnet rise - After this, you have no weaknesses for 5 turns and can kill those pesky grounds with Ice punch!
Taunt

I have never tried this moveset but imo it should work fine.
For Azelf you should have:
Azelf @ Timid Nature
Nasty Plot
Flamethrower
Thunderbolt
Psychic

Marriland moveset I know, but nontheless effective.

Sorry if I couldnt help more, but you didnt post as much info as I'd need to come up with better suggestions.

if you want a stealth rock azelf make it a lead and put scarf on that instead of venasaur

for the life orb keep the saur as it is but why eq? probably for metagross

feraligator: DD up leftovers SD salac

Obviously the fastest leads in OU include the ones running on their own steam:

Ninjask (Base 160 ~ Max 460
Jolteon (Base 130 ~ Max 394)
Aerodactyl (Base 130 ~ Max 394)
Alakazam (Base 125 ~ Max 383)
Azelf (Base 115 ~ Max 361)
Starmie (Base 115 ~ Max 361)

Past these, Scarf leads outrun most of the leading competition, and Venusaur just simply will not thrive as a lead, as many leads now have Lum Berry to cure status, berries that reduce damage of SE (Super Effective, not Stone Edge) attacks, and the rest will outspeed 405 Speed easily with their own Scarfs. Not saying Venusaur is useless, but he doesn't do one of the four main things leads are supposed to do:

- Set up Stealth Rock
- Taunt other leads and kill them
- Cripple other leads (such as above)
- Scout the enemy team via phazing or U-Turn

Venusaur's main objective will be to Sleep Powder, as its attacks are meaningless most of the time (Focus Sash users will 2HKO or OHKO you, Bulky Pokemon like Swampert and Metagross will switch to a counter, etc.) Roserade and Breloom make better use of sleeping moves as leads, are faster (not Breloom) and have more niches to fill. Venusaur doesn't have the necessary typing, power or bulk to fit well onto a OU team. Your team is trying something new no doubt, but I recommend not doing this for your first couple of teams. I recommend trying each and every OU Pokemon out before you go deciding you are too good for them. Most Pokemon in the OU tier made it there for a distinct reason, and I'm sure the opponent's who defeat you will show you that. Venusaur, as I explained above, cannot fit into a team nor be the base for those reasons, as he is simply outclassed in every way by the OU and BL Grass types (Shaymin now). Feraligatr is a wannabe Gyarados, and simply cannot pull of the sweep it can in UU. He can survive things Gyarados cannot (some weak non-STAB Electric attacks), but he cannot reach his full potential there. I recommend you try playing the OU tier before using UU Pokemon, as the UU tier takes much more prediction, strategy and knowledge of sets. I like the Pikachu gimmick, everyone does, but using it in OU simply doesn't go over as well as if you used Magikarp.

Lastly, your thread violates a couple of the RMT rules, which you should have read:

PLAY WITH YOUR TEAM BEFORE PUTTING IT UP FOR RATE!

Basically, you should have at least 10-20 Battles with a team before deciding you want to change it or post it. Don't ask for help on the forum, learn by observation and experience!

LEARN THE GAME AND LURK MORE!

This is saying you need to browse Smogon's sets and watch other players duke it out, and learn from that. Spend some time using combinations of different Pokemon, don't just come to Smogon and give things a try then go straight to a forum for help.

BE DESCRIPTIVE. BE AS DETAILED AS POSSIBLE!

You have little to no description, which explains that you really haven't used this team much or at all.

Go back and read the RMT rules called "How to RMT" on this forum, and then proceed to get some necessary experience. We can't all ask the masters for help and guidelines and get it every time, sometimes we have to figure things out for ourselves!

Otherwise, good luck creating a successful team, PM me if you ever need help (I'm no pro, but I'm around a lot), and I will be glad to offer it. Don't post anymore threads (discouraging it, not commanding xD) until you have that experience in the field! =D
