A friend I met at PS named 3639 made me this team and I made small edits, stuck in 1400-1500s. This is my first competitive team ever in PS and I'm a beginner. I have problems with many pokemon (like Typhlosion, Sceptile, Nidoqueen, Cresellia and most water types), only status my team inflicts is poison and I don't think my team is threatening enough, so help me out a little :D
P.S.: Colors are fitting by coincidence.
Fei Long (Hitmonlee) (M) @ Normal Gem
Trait: Unburden
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Fake Out
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
* This guy is for late game sweeping after removing Ghost types etc. I turned some matches around with him, he does his job well since he outspeeds almost everything.
Guillotine (Drapion) (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Battle Armor
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 248 HP / 244 SDef / 16 Spd
Careful Nature
- Crunch
- Taunt
- Whirlwind
- Toxic Spikes
* Special wall and utility. Whirlwind is for set up sweepers like Feraligatr, Lilligant etc. Taunt is for preventing stuff like Will-o-Wisp, Spore, Swords Dance and Spikes. Toxic Spikes works well if I'm against a team without any Poison types. I feel like I can use someone else though, he is useless in some matches and I don't feel like he is helping my Sandslash spin.
Carla (Clefable) (F) @ Life Orb
Trait: Magic Guard
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 SAtk
Brave Nature
- Fire Blast
- Softboiled
- Double-Edge
- Grass Knot
* Not much to say here, she used to be a special wall at the beginning but I didn't like it and changed the set for the surprise factor. Double-Edge hits very hard and they never expect the Fire Blast.
Rigwarl (Sandslash) (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sand Rush
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Rapid Spin
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic
* I'm not sure about this one since there are a lot of water and grass pokemon in the tier. Usually does fine but being my only physical wall, spinning and setting rocks... Too much weight on him. I end up sending my Moltres into rocks many times.
Icarus (Moltres) @ Life Orb
Trait: Pressure
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Fire Blast
- Hurricane
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Roost
* My special sweeper. It doesn't have any problems about power but gets threatened out by many stuff, like fast Electric types, Rock moves (many pokemon carry HP rock for Moltres), Aqua Jet users etc. I'm still not sure if it's worth it for trying to spin the whole match because even if i get rid of those threats, the accuracy of its moves suck hard. I lost many matches because of that.
Bazinga (Rotom) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Levitate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Volt Switch
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Trick
* Blocks Rapid Spins, deals nice damage to Flying types and Trick is for pokemon like Cresellia. It doesn't do much at some matches because Volt Switch is usually obvious so they switch to something like Nidoqueen or Electivire. Even if I fake the Volt Switch and go for another move it still puts me on disadvantage. It doesn't have much use other than those so not sure about this one.
