XY OU My first Team: Fairy-Hate Mega Scizor Offensive

Soo, this is going to be my first Smogon-Forum Post aswell but I'll try to format everything properly.

Back to the topic: Tonight I'm going to introduce to you my first seriously self-created ORAS OU Team. After trying to actually get into the game by using copypasted Teams and gimmick stuff like Nosepass Lead wich I found on YouTube, I finally finished my first, unpolished version of a Hyper Offensive Team. Getting right into it:

NOTE: Movesets and EV Spreads are either copied from Smogons Strategy-Dex or thoughtlessly made by myself. I'm not familliar with the numbers yet so the spreads might not be optimal!

Pretty much 6 Powerhouse Pokemon filling in different roles with Scizor as the Mega-Evolution.
646-b.png
Kyuubi no Youko (Kyurem-Black) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Teravolt
EVs: 252 Atk / 32 SpA / 224 Spe
Naive Nature
- Ice Beam
- Outrage
- Fusion Bolt
- Iron Head
  • Kyurem-Blacks Job is simple: Wait for the Fairy-Hate squad to deal with the most recent addition to the Pokemon-Types. Scizor will also take care of Ferrothorn and if that isn't enough, Latios will help out with Hidden Power Fire. When all resisting and immune Pokemon are gone, spam Outrage like theres no tomorrow.

Scarfgar (Gengar) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Shadow Ball
- Sludge Wave
- Focus Blast
- Taunt
  • (Nickname to mess with the Opponents Head) Gengar is one of my tools to beat Fairy-Types. Sludge Wave in particular beats most of them but I also run Shadowball for STAB-damage, for gardevoir and opposing Ghost-Types that are slower than Gengar (Scarf-Gengar still gives mine nightmares :/). Taunt helps with opposing leads that like to set up hazards or slow non-Prankster status moves. Also I REALLY wanna replace Focus Blast with something that ACTUALLY HITS FOR ONCE.

Sheele EXTASE (Scizor-Mega) (F) @ Scizorite
Ability: Technician
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 248 HP / 44 Atk / 16 Def / 200 SpD
Impish Nature
- Swords Dance
- Roost
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
  • So the Mega-Evolution I use is Scizor. He deals with all the annoying fairies that tend not to run Fire-Type coverage, can set up on stuff like Ferrothorn and Chansey, finish off weakened Pokemon and helps switching in some of my more fragile Pokemon with a slow U-Turn. He's essential for this team and both, a win condition and a support for my other Team Members. Sword Dance and Roost to set up a sweep, Bullet Punch for the priority and the STAB-damage. Sword Dance and Technician make Bullet Punch a scary move. I maybe consider fitting Knock Off in somehow but that for later.
243.png
Lightning McQueen (Raikou) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 32 HP / 252 SpA / 224 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 30 Def
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Shadow Ball
  • A Pokemon I'm not really sure about and thinking to switch out for an actual lead pokemon or a cleric. For now it Hit-and-Runs preferably with a quick Volt Switch into Latios or Scizor. Thunderbolt is a great STAB Move, Shadow Ball is only waiting for to get replaced and Hidden Power Ice puts Landorus, Gliscor or Garchomp into the Freezer. Instead of rating this Raiko, I'd prefer if you could tell me about some alternative Pokemon I could run instead.
381.png
MISS A DRACO (Latios) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 30 SpA / 30 Spe
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Defog
  • My defogger, my draco dropper, and my answer to Ferrothorn and other Steel-Types, not named Heatran. Umm, I don't know thats pretty much all he does.
184.png
Root of all Evil (Azumarill) (F) @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 92 HP / 252 Atk / 164 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Belly Drum
- Aqua Jet
- Play Rough
- Knock Off
  • I know I know, Fairy-Types are our enemies but this Pokemon is just too cute and too dangerous to not give it a spot in my Team. I feel like most of the Azumarills run a Choice Band, so I try to make use of my opponent thinking he switched in safely to setup with Belly Drum, only to sweep through entire Teams with a single Pokemon.
Since I don't have any dedicated Lead Pokemon I usually lead with Gengar, to Taunt opposing Leads or - if I feel safe enough - With Azumarill for an early game Belly Drum Sweep to shoot holes in the enemy Team. Switching into Raikou will most of the time lead to Volt Switching into Scizor or Latios, while U-turning with Scizor will likely end up with Gengar or Raikou going to the field. I keep Kyurmem out of the match until either all Steel- and Fairy-Types are removed or I'm in need of the Ice Beam or Fusion Bolt.

I also kinda hope this to be less of a Rate-my-Team Post and more of a "Help-me-to-fix-my-Team" kinda thing. Anyways thanks for reading, leave a comment if you have any suggestions, ideas or whatever else related to the team. Here's the importable:

I REALLY wanna replace Focus Blast with something that ACTUALLY HITS FOR ONCE.
HP Fire lets you hit Ferrothorn and exchanges an OHKO Bisharp before LO recoil/prior damage (srs it misses out by 0.4% at max damage) and coverage on Tyranitar for coverage on Skarmory and Scizor while being 100% accurate.
js, but don't actually follow this because it already 2HKOs them with Shadow Ball anyway

Hey there, really solid looking HO team you have there however I'll like to suggest some changes to improve the team n_n
  • Firstly, I do notice that your team lack a Pokemon that can actually get up entry hazards such as Stealth Rock which is something really important to most teams as it allows you to break most potential Focus Sash in your opponent's team upon switch ins while also making sure that your opponent is pressured when making every switch. As mentioned in your description, you may want to replace Raikou to an offensive Stealth Rock user like Garchomp/Landorus-T/Mamoswine/Infernape or even Azelf. I would recommend a Garchomp as it provides access to Stealth Rock but with it's given bulk and access to Fire Blast, it allows your team to check things like opposing Mega-Scizor/Bisharp much better which would otherwise run over your team if given an opportunity to set up.
    Garchomp @ Rocky Helmet
    Ability: Rough Skin
    EVs: 248 HP / 168 Def / 92 Spe
    Impish Nature
    - Earthquake
    - Stealth Rock
    - Dragon Tail
    - Fire Blast

  • Secondly, I realize that your Scizor is running U-turn to help grab momentum for your team however I feel that it might be better to use Bug Bite or Knock Off so that Scizor can be a stand-alone set up sweeper for your team as well without having to use U-turn to kill something thus losing all the boosts.

  • Thirdly, with your team having a Scizor and Gengar I feel that it is not necessary to run Iron Head on Kyurem-B, instead, Earth Power would be able to provide you with a wider range of coverage such as enabling you to hit Rotom-W and also Heatran which is greatly appreciated by your team.

  • Lastly, as mentioned by gamer boy, HP Fire definitely allows you to hit things like Ferrothorn/Bisharp/Scizor harder however the point of Focus Blast is to actually allow your Gengar to hit things like Tyranitar that tries to switch in and Pursuit trap you.
Hope it helps n_n

EDIT: Also with removing Gengars Focus Blast and adding Knock off to Scizors set, should i replace Azumarills Knock Off with Super Power maybe? Would that work out?

Hi someone told me you were looking for a rate on Showdown? Let's see what I can do to fix that.

Knock Off is key on Belly Drum Azumarill to hit some important targets, notably Ferrothorn without the attack drop. I would also put Focus Blast on Gengar because it's better overall coverage (hitting TTar on the switch is HUGE as well as hitting Heatran in general). HP Fire is passable if you are that concerned about accuracy. Kyurem-B seems like an upgradable point. You also need a Stealth Rock setter. I would actually go with a defensive Garchomp spread over Kyurem-B as you lack a solid SD Talonflame check (Raikou gets hit by Flare Blitz hard). Garchomp also acts as a nice blanket physical check, weakening some other threats such as Mega Metagross and Lopunny with the combination of Rocky Helmet and Rough Skin. Roost > Hidden Power Fire on Latios could also give Latios more sustainability to repeatedly check what it is supposed to.

Garchomp @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 HP / 164 Def / 76 SpD / 16 Spe
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Dragon Tail
- Toxic

Toxic hits some otherwise safe switch-ins and accumulates further chip damage in addition to the RH+RS damage.
