Yep I just began playing the metagame (thought until now I only tested my team in like 20 to 30 battles). I've read all the important stickies but still am unsure if it is okay when I post this thread now. I know that I'm not really into the metagame now but since most people I battled said I'm quite good for a beginner and my team isn't bad I hope it's okay when I post this thread.
Azelf with Focus Sash
EV's: 4 Atk, 252 SpA, 252 Spe (IV: 28 SpD)
Ability: Levitate
Nature: Naive
Move1: Stealth Rock
Move2: Explosion
Move3: Psychic
Move4: Taunt
Comment: This is my first Pokemon in line. I start the battle with it to open the fight with a Stealth Rock and maybe an Explosion when the foes lead is fitting. Thanks to the Focus Sash it definetly survives the first round and due to the high speed it will most likely fire the Explosion before the opponents Pokemon attack so that will take out the lead on both sides. For Pokemon immune to Explosion I still got something I can do about it. Nothing more to say about it since it's only purpose at the moment is to take out the foes lead.
Dusknoir with Leftovers
EV's: 252 HP, 28 Atk, 228 Def
Ability: Pressure
Nature: Impish
Move1: Earthquake
Move2: Ice Punch
Move3: Pain Split
Move4: Will-o-wisp
Comment: As a tank this is in most times my switch in after my Azelf deceased. Due to the high defensives and some strong attacks I'm sometimes able to take out some enemies. Thanks to Pain Split and Leftovers it got a really good survivability. My first attack in most cases is Will-o-wisp because of the nice burn effect. Some enemies even switch their second Pokemon out so I've got the chance to burn a second one. I either switch it out or fight a bit with it but that belongs on my foes Pokemon.
Togekiss with Leftovers
EV's: 252 HP, 64 SpD, 192 Spe
Ability: Serence Grace
Nature: Modest
Move1: Air Slash
Move2: Baton Pass
Move3: Nasty Plot
Move4: Roost
Comment: I think a Togekiss with this setup makes a nice synergy with my Porygon-Z. Thanks to Roost it definetly can survive for some rounds. I often use Nasty Plot to improve stats and pass them down to my Porygon-Z then. It's also a nice switch in for bug Pokemon.
Porygon-Z with Choice Scarf
EV's: 4 Def, 252 SpA, 252 Spe
Ability: Download
Nature: Modest
Move1: Dark Pulse
Move2: Hidden Power (Fighting)
Move3: Tri Attack
Move4: Trick
Comment: As said in the comment about Togekiss they kind of work as a team. Porygon-Z got some nice attacks in this setup and I'm able to fight of several types of Pokemon. Togekiss is definetly switched in before Porygon-Z due to their synergy and I use them both in some kind of a row. I either use them right after Dusknoir or after Tyranitar but that belongs to my foe.
Infernape with Life Orb
EV's: 64 Atk, 252 SpA, 192 Spe
Ability: Blaze
Nature: Naive
Move1: Close Combat
Move2: Flamethrower
Move3: Grass Knot
Move4: Hidden Power (Ice)
Comment: I know I shouldn't write it down but this should be self-explanatory. This one is a really nice fighter and I use him as a conter most times. It's nice seeing the foes conter against my Infernape going wrong thanks to Infernapes attacks. I often see Swampert as a reaction to my Infernape and with Grass Knot I got something nice to conter it.
Tyranitar with Babiri Berry
EV's: 6 HP, 252 Atk, 252 Spe
Ability: Sand Stream
Nature: Adamant
Move1: Aquatail
Move2: Crunch
Move3: Dragon Dance
Move4: Stone Edge
Comment: When this is the third in the row (after Azelf and Dusknoir) if got Stealth Rock up, maybe one or two foes burned and then with Tyranitar switching in I also got a nice little Sandstorm. It got naturally a relatively high survivability and if it's Dragon Danced it can put out some serious damage. I also saw not quite a lot but at least some Psychic type Pokemons and a Dragon Danced Tyranitar using Crunch is a real threat to them.
So that's my complete team. The most problems I've encountered are against Gengar. For example (due to my inexperience) one Gegnar smashed my hole team. I didn't had anything to fight it effectively. But I also want to know if this team's alright for the beginning. Played most games in ladder and got a ladder rating of 562 at the moment.
