I'm new here and just made this team. There are probably some problems with it so that's why I'm asking the experts. What do you guys think? I prefer the first three generation pokemon so I'm trying to keep it centered around them, but I'd be willing to stretch that a bit.
Ninjask @ Leftovers
Trait: Speed Boost
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Spd / 252 Def
Jolly Nature
IVs: 30 Atk / 30 Def
- Baton Pass
- Substitute
- Protect
- Swords Dance
This is the one that I will start with most consistently. Alternate between Substitute and Protect while I wait for Speed Boost to do the work for me then Baton Pass. Swords Dance is there to use if there's an opportunity for it.
Alakazam @ Life Orb
Trait: Magic Guard
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Spd / 252 SAtk
Modest Nature
- Calm Mind
- Psychic
- Focus Blast
- Shadow Ball
My Special Sweeper. There's not really much to him. Basic Calm Mind + 3 Attacks
Haxorus @ Choice Band
Trait: Mold Breaker
EVs: 36 HP / 252 Atk / 220 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Brick Break
- Dual Chop
Haxorus is my Physical Sweeper and main threat. Most battles I will Baton Pass to him from Ninjask for some straightforward sweeping with Outrage.
Skarmory @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 232 Def / 24 Spd
Careful Nature
- Spikes
- Whirlwind
- Roost
- Brave Bird
Skarmory is there for two reasons: Spikes and Whirlwind. Whirlwind will maximize Spikes' damage output and eliminate the opponent's stat changes.
Arcanine @ Life Orb
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 Spd / 4 HP / 252 Atk
Adamant Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Wild Charge
- ExtremeSpeed
- Close Combat
I included Arcanine because I needed to fill in a Fire-type slot on my team and he was my favorite from first gen. Flare Blitz can take care of threats like Ferrothorn and ExtremeSpeed will allow me to get the one-up on opponents with Speed Boost.
Starmie @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Surf
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam
- Rapid Spin
Starmie is the resident Rapid Spinner on this team. Not only that, she can take care of Salamences and Dragonites with Ice Beam.
