My First Team

I'm new here and just made this team. There are probably some problems with it so that's why I'm asking the experts. What do you guys think? I prefer the first three generation pokemon so I'm trying to keep it centered around them, but I'd be willing to stretch that a bit.

Ninjask @ Leftovers
Trait: Speed Boost
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Spd / 252 Def
Jolly Nature
IVs: 30 Atk / 30 Def
- Baton Pass
- Substitute
- Protect
- Swords Dance

This is the one that I will start with most consistently. Alternate between Substitute and Protect while I wait for Speed Boost to do the work for me then Baton Pass. Swords Dance is there to use if there's an opportunity for it.

Alakazam @ Life Orb
Trait: Magic Guard
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Spd / 252 SAtk
Modest Nature
- Calm Mind
- Psychic
- Focus Blast
- Shadow Ball

My Special Sweeper. There's not really much to him. Basic Calm Mind + 3 Attacks

Haxorus @ Choice Band
Trait: Mold Breaker
EVs: 36 HP / 252 Atk / 220 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Brick Break
- Dual Chop

Haxorus is my Physical Sweeper and main threat. Most battles I will Baton Pass to him from Ninjask for some straightforward sweeping with Outrage.

Skarmory @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 232 Def / 24 Spd
Careful Nature
- Spikes
- Whirlwind
- Roost
- Brave Bird

Skarmory is there for two reasons: Spikes and Whirlwind. Whirlwind will maximize Spikes' damage output and eliminate the opponent's stat changes.

Arcanine @ Life Orb
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 Spd / 4 HP / 252 Atk
Adamant Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Wild Charge
- ExtremeSpeed
- Close Combat

I included Arcanine because I needed to fill in a Fire-type slot on my team and he was my favorite from first gen. Flare Blitz can take care of threats like Ferrothorn and ExtremeSpeed will allow me to get the one-up on opponents with Speed Boost.

Starmie @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Surf
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam
- Rapid Spin

Starmie is the resident Rapid Spinner on this team. Not only that, she can take care of Salamences and Dragonites with Ice Beam.

Doesn't look too bad, but unless you increase your individual discriptions, a mod will lock the thread. Take a look at other RMT's for what to do and look at the locked ones for examples of what not to do

There's a little button for pictures (looks like a scenery of a Mountain and Sun/Moon)... hover over it and it should be the "Insert Image" Button. Anyways, the Descriptions definitely need much more detail.

For Example:
Everyone knows Zam is a Special Sweeper, that's obvious... but WHY is he on your Team? What made you chose him over the other ~50 Pokes in OU? Does he pick off some thing(s) your Team has trouble with? Is he the guy your team is centered around so that he can come in Late Game and Sweep? etc

As for Team advice:
- the whole 'Ninjask, get Boosts, Pass' idea doesn't work well at all in practice. I'd suggest coming up with a core strategy that can lead your team to victory rather than random "hopefully if I can pass Boosts, ______ will Sweep their Team! :D"
- you have Spikes which is nice, but Stealth Rocks should ALWAYS be on a Team. it takes one turn to lay down completely and everything is hurt by them compared to Spikes 3 Turns and Flying/Levitate Immunities.
- SO many special Sweepers can literally just come in and lol all over your face... you have no Special Wall of any sort. You really lack synergy over all anyway

Locking this thread for all the reasons stated above, please read the RMT Rules before posting. Feel free to PM me with lengthened descriptions and I will gladly unlock your thread.
