My first team

I'm very new to this, so I'm really just looking for thoughts and comments. Any help is appreciated. I'm willing to change anything and learn if necassary. I've not been very successful so far.

Jolteon @ Life Orb
Trait: Quick Feet
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Signal Beam
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Jolteon is my usual lead, using Volt Switch to do some damage and switch out, unless my opponent uses a ground team - which I seem to have trouble against. I don't seem to be using Signal Beam often so maybe I could do with a better move here but I'm not 100% up to scratch with the type strengths/weaknesses so once I learn those I may find I use it more. Obviously I chose speed and special attack to maximise damage, quickly, but that does leave this Jolteon weak to anything that hits it.

Terrakion @ Choice Band
Trait: Justified
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- X-Scissor
- Sacred Sword

Easily my favourite/most used team member, pretty standard setup that doesn't really need changing. Not sure if I need both close combat and sacred sword, but his stab is just so good, it seems silly not to - not to mention I didn't really know what other moves to give it.

Gengar @ Black Sludge
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Disable
- Substitute
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast

This guy is pretty awesome. I haven't quite got the hang of using the sub-disable, but subbing and using shadow ball/focus blast has really helped me out in some of my first few battles. I'm not sure if black sludge is the best item for it though - but that's what the database here suggested.

Mamoswine @ Life Orb
Trait: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Ice Shard
- Icicle Crash
- Superpower

Changed Cloyster for Mamoswine as suggested, although I realised with Terakkion and now Mamoswine, I'm a bit too over-aggressive when it comes to fire and I might be lacking in other areas. At least now I have a solid counter for those dragons.

Skarmory @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 232 HP / 252 Def / 24 Spd
Impish Nature
- Spikes
- Roost
- Brave Bird
- Whirlwind

Changed from Metagross as suggested. Quite happy with this, as although I'm yet to try it out, a physical wall was definitely something I lacked before. I'll try him out tomorrow and update with what I find.

Blissey (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 SDef
Calm Nature
- Aromatherapy
- Softboiled
- Flamethrower
- Toxic

Really have found this to be pretty useless in my first 5 or so battles. Good for sacrificing, and aromatherapy has come in handy once - but other than that it seems like a waste of time. I know stalling is part of the game, but I get bored of it really fast and Blissey has such low Def that anything physical seems to take her out of the game really quickly.

Alright now that you've done that I'll make some suggestions.

The first thing I see is that you wanted cloyster to take care of fire types. Mamoswine should replace him as he can check dragons and eq fire types for you.
I'd suggest this set. With thick fat he can take some surprising fire attacks too.
Mamoswine@ leftovers
Trait: thick fat
Evs: 252 Atk/4 Hp/252 Spe
Jolly nature
- earthquake
- ice shard
- icicle crash
- superpower

I would replace blissey with jirachi. Jirachi can wall some special attackers like blissey for you, and it won't stall as much. Try the standard specially defensive set. Body slam is for paralyzingly and iron head for flinching. I would run fire punch because you don't have much to hit steel types.

Jirachi @ leftovers
Trait: serene grace
Evs: 252 Hp/ 232 SpD/ 24 Spe
Calm nature
- body slam
- wish
- iron head
- fire punch

With this jirachi you don't really want meta gross on your team too. I suggest a bulky Landorus t. It walls physical attackers for you which you really need. U turn is for scouting. Use it when you wall something and you think the opponent will switch.
Landorus- therian @ leftovers
Trait: intimidate
Evs 252 Hp/44 Atk/212 def
Adamant nature
- earthquake
- stone edge
- u turn
- stealth rock

Something to consider would be changing terrakions item to choice scarf. You lose the wall breaker but gain a valuable revenge killer. This isn't necessary though with Landorus'a ability to check alot of set up threats And mamoswines priority ice shard. But you Gould definitely try it out. It out speeds venusaur in the sun, a threat to your team if jirachi is weak and can't get para with body slam.

I hope you consider some of these.

Hello Scarzz i am not much of a rater ,but Volt Absorb on Jolteon is way better than quick feet.As you can see Jolteon is already and you have to be status by your opponent to make it work.As with Volt Absorb it will give you a Immunity to Electric Moves. Also Garchomp seems like a Threat to this team.If cloyster Dies Then Garchomp seems like it will be hard to stop, Playing against your team.I recommend replacing Metagross with Skarmory Since you get Stealth Rock and you stop Garchomp(Be Careful of Fire Blast)Also on Terrakion you Could keep Sacred Sword or you can use Quick Attack if you want some Priority.

Well this is pretty much all i can think of to Help.Hope This Helps =)

Its so nice how other people help him make his RTM better.

I have your answer for that Cloyster, i was about to use one myself but i opted for Mamoswine try him!

Okay, so I switched out Cloyster and Metagross for Mamoswine and Skarmory respectively. I feel that although I am very good offensively against fire, I'm not great defensively against it. Not to mention, that I feel like I am still weak in some areas.

I decided to stick with Blissey over Jirachi for now, as although I do want a more aggressive wall, I think with Skarmory and Blissey both in my team, I should be able to cope pretty well with most things, and I do appreciate the value of that aromatherapy move.

I am going to sleep now, but I will try this improved version tomorrow and update the thread based on my findings.
