My first team.

Hey there. Anyway, I just joined [I've been here for a few months, just made an account.] and after a while of... Studying? I've created my first team after a bit of help and personal preference, yet I'm still open to suggestions, so....

Aerodactyl@Choice Scarf / Pressure
Jolly Nature
EVs: 252 HP / 6 Atk. / 252 Spd.
-Stone Edge
-Earthquake
-Taunt
-Stealth Rock
Starter, and it's the standard aerodactyl set, so there's not much to say here.

Arcanine@Leftovers / Intimidate
Naive Nature
EVs: 6 HP / 252 Atk. / 252 Spd.
-Flare Blitz
-Extremespeed
-Overheat
-Will-o-Wisp
Used for fire-type attacks, and a physical sweeper. Flare Blitz is the main attack, and Overheat can get past anythign with high defense. Extremespeed is just a great move, and Will-o-Wsip hits physcial sweepers.

Milotic@Leftovers / Marvel Scale
Modest Nature
EVs: 252 HP / 6 Def. / 252 Sp. Atk.
-Surf
-Ice Beam
-Rest
-Sleep Talk
Rest + Sleep Talk. Somewhat of a special sweeper, but mainly a defensive pokemon with special capabilites.

Scizor@Leftovers / Technician
Jolly Nature
EVs: 252 HP / 6 Atk. / 252 Spd.
[/FONT]-Bullet Punch
-Agility
-Roost
-Baton Pass
Baton Passing. Sets up as many agilities as possible, heals on the way if it's needed, and usually passes to Lucario, maybe Arcanine if needed. Bullet Punch is there so I don't waste his Atk. stat or leave him hanging with no way to defend himself.

Gardevoir@Leftovers / Trace
Modest Nature
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Sp. Atk. / 6 Spd.
-Psychic
-Thunderbolt
-Shadow Ball
-Wish
Special Sweeper. Three attacks for type coverage, and wish gives it support capabilites.

Lucario@Leftovers / Inner Focus
Adamant Nature
EVs: 172 HP / 252 Atk / 86 Spd.
-Close Combat
-Extremespeed
-Crunch
-Swords Dance

Main physcial sweeper. After swords dance, Extremespeed deals incredible damage, as does Extremespeed with priority. And if all works out correctly, after 1 or 2 Agilities from Scizor, he's almost unstoppable.

Things I'm looking to change--

-I'd like a replacement for aerodactyl, not exactly one of my favorite pokes, but my other lead [Mamoswine] wouldn't really work as a lead, so I changed.

-Lucario is a great Pokemon, but I don't know why, I just have the feeling there might be something better.

-Possibly a new EV spread of Lucario and Milotic.

Possible problems--

-Zapdos may be a threat. Ice Beam is my only super effective attack against it, while two of my Pokemon are weak against electric. [May change if I replace aerodactyl.]

Overall, it works. I still have quite a few problems, but I've been able to use the strategy decently enough. Taunt/Roar is my worst enemy, though.

Aero Lead begs for Focus Sash. other than that i haven't messed with one so idk much about the set

IMO Arcanine is a wanna-be Ape with Extremespeed and less coverage. if you do keep him, go with something over Overheat and possibly WoW too. he already has bad coverage and giving him 2 Fire moves AND WoW does not help.

Gengar does everything Gardevior does (excluding Wish), but with more of a punch and better coverage. if you're wanting Wish Support i suggest Vaporeon over Milotic

... something "better" than Luke? you're crazy >.<. right now Luke and Scizor rule the Late Game Priority Revenge Killer/Sweeper role. no need to mess with near perfection

just my 2 cents. hope it helps

Hey

Since you are using Scizor to perform a Baton Pass strategy, I think that it would be helpful if you used a Dual Screener on your team to make baton passing easier to accomplish. The only Pokemon on your team that can use Dual Screens is Gardevior. Gardevior makes an excellent choice for a Dual Screen user since it has many opportunties to switch into opposing Pokemon in OU thanks to its ability Trace which can use the opponents Pokemon ability against them. For example, say your opponent had a Jolteon and he was going to Thunderbolt your Aerodactyl and or Milotic, you can switch into Gardevior since it will Trace Volt Absorb and then you can set up Light Screen or Reflect. In addition to Reflect and Light Screen, Gardevoir can utilize other supporting moves that will aid Scizor in Baton Passing his Agility to your Lucario more effectively. One move Gardevior can use to help your Scizor is Memento. Memento is a move that faints the user and lowers the target's Attack and Special Attack two stages. This may not seem effective, but it is. Once you feel gardevior is at low enough health and that it has accomplished its job of setting up Reflect and Light Screen, you can then use Memento to lower your targets Attack and Special Attack two stages and then switching to Lucario and or Scizor so they have a free turn to set up since under Dual Screen and your opponents Attack and Special Attack lowered, Scizor/Lucario will take little damage from most attacks, allowing you to set up. If you are ineterested in using Dual Screen Gardevior, I would suggest using Light Screen, Reflect, Memento, Psychic, Light Clay, 252 HP / 120 SpD / 136 Spe, Calm Nature. As explained above, Light Screen and Reflect will help you pass your Baton Pass boosts from Scizor more effectively. Light Clay is chosen as the item so the Dual Screens can last for a total of 7 turns instead of the regular 5 turns. The extra turns allow your Lucario/Scizor to set up! 136 Speed EV's allow Gardevior to reach a total Speed stat of 230, meaning you can outspeed most Scizor so you can set up Reflect to allow Gardevior to survive the incoming U-Turn from Scizor.

Alright. You are using the boosts from Scizor to pass to Lucario, however, your Lucario set has one major problem-- You are walled by any Ghost type with the current set you are using and Bulky Psychic types like Cresselia have no problem dealing with your current set. Lucario needs a way to get pass Rotom/Gengar/Cresselia. In order for Lucario to do that, it needs Crunch. Crunch is suggested over Dark Pulse or Shadow Ball because you are using Swords dance to boost your Attack and since Crunch is a physical move, Crunch is the better choice. Use Crunch over Aura Sphere. Close Combat already hits a myriad of Pokemon for plenty of damage after a Swords Dance, so Aura Sphere is not needed. For example, Auara Sphere is mainly used to hit walls that invest in defense such as Skarmory, however, after a Swords Dance, Lucario can come very close to OHKOing Skarmory with Close Combat. since it does 84.4% - 99.7% to a Max HP and Max Defense Skarmory. Aura Sphere will not OHKO without any significant Special Attack investment or Choice Specs so you are better of using Crunch to deal with Ghosts and Phsychics. Also, use Adamant over Jolly. You are already using Baton Passing Agility to Lucario so Lucario does not need that Speed provided by Jolly. Instead, it will benefit more from Adamant since it will allow it to hit much harder and turn some 2HKOes into OHKOes.

Next, you have two Electric weak Pokemon while having no resist meaning a pokemon such as Zapdos or Jolteon can cause some problems. Zapdos causes more problems since it can hit your whole team super effectively with ThunderBolt/Heat Wave, except for gardevior of course. If you use the Dual Screen Gardevior I suggested, dealing with Zapdos will be easier. However, if you really want to replace Aerodactyl for another lead, we have to find something that can do pretty well against Zapdos while still being able to set up Stealth Rock. One pokemon comes to mind and that is Swampert. Swampert can deal with Zapdos that are not carrying Hidden Power Grass. You already have a Bulky Water in Milotic, however, Swampert basically swerves the same role, I will suggest something over Milotic later that can deal with Zapdos too. In the current metagame, with Metagross, Jirachi and Heatran, all common Pokemon, Swampert works really well. I suggest using Leftovers 252HP/252Def/4Atk, Impish Nature, Earthquake, Ice Beam, Stealth Rock, Roar. Roar allows you to Phaze away troublesome Pokemon. Ice Beam allows you to take on Salamence while Earthquake is for STAB.

Now that I suggested Swampert, I think we should find a replacement for Milotic since Swampert and Milotic serve a lot of the same purposes, however, Swampert does more. Firstly, it provides Stealth Rock support and an Electric immunity while being able to take on Zapdos without Hidden Power Grass. Alright, so what will replace Milotic on this team? Well, this Pokemon should also be able to take on Zapdos that have Hidden Power Grass. If they have Hidden power Ice, you use Swampert to counter it and if they have Hidden Power Grass you use the Pokemon I am going to suggest to stop it. The Pokemon I am going to suggest is Gliscor. Gliscor has a relatively easy time against a Zapdos without Hidden Power Ice, since it can hit it back with Stone Edge. You have two options with Gliscor. 1) Make him a secondary Baton Passer with Swords Dance. 2) Make him a pure sweeper. For this team, I suggest using Gliscor as a Baton Passer with just one stat boosting move (Swords Dance) You can pass the Agility boost from Scizor to Gliscor, use Swords Dance, then go to Lucario and have some fun! I suggest using Swords Dance, Taunt, Stone Edge/Earthquake, Baton Pass with 252 HP / 196 SpD / 60 Spe with a Jolly Nature. The choice between Stone Edge and Earthquake is tough. You can use Stone Edge if you want to better deal with Zapdos or you can use Earthquake for STAB, and to hit Rock/Steel/Fire types. The EVs allow Gliscor to hit 265 Speed, enough to outpace Adamant Gyarados before a Rock Polish and Timid Choice Scarf Gengar after. The Special Defense EVs a total of 235 Special defense, meaning it can survive Surfs from the likes of Vaporeon and other bulky Water-types when behind a Light Screen. The most Bulky Waters can do to Gliscor with Light Screen and the Special Defense EV's is a 3HKO with Surf, allowing you to set up! Taunt is on this set because you need something to stop Pokemon like Skarmory from Phazing you away. It also stops Pokemon from statusing your incoming sweeper. I have one more suggestion. If you decide to use Gliscor, then I suggest dropping Swirds Dance on Lucario and replacing it with Stone Edge/Ice Punch. Since Gliscor is now passing Swords Dance to Lucario, you do not need Swords Dance on Luke, which means you have an open spot so Lucario can have as much coverage as possible. Stone Edge and Ice Punch have identical coverage, however, there is a slight difference in the way they are used. you can use Ice Punch if you prefer the accuracy and the ability to hit Salamence for 4x damage while still hitting Zapdos and Gliscor, two common counters to Lucario for super effective damage. Or you can use Stone Edge which hits Gyarados, Zapdos, and Salamence for super effective damage as well.

Good Luck =)

My current wins with this team are 7 out of eight. The only problem I've had is heatran. The team is working GREAT, other than that. Gardevoir has awesome type coverage, and everyone else does nicely at fulfilling their roles.

There are a few changes I'm about to make; I'll edit when I'm done.
