Before you read this note Im new to competitive play. I put this together with a friend of mine, he did most ofthe work actually, and I dont know all the reasons for the pokemon he picked but he has never steered me wrong.
Roserade @ Focus Sash
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 6HP/252SpA/252Spe
Nature: Timid
- Sleep powder
- Toxic Spikes
- Leaf Storm
- Hidden Power (fire)
This is my lead who will set up the toxic spikes to, obviously, poison anyone who my opponent sends out. HP Fire takes out steel types that are immune to the spikes, like Forretress whom is a common rapid spinner. Sleep powder in case I start off against something that can possibly OHKO me before I can set up the spikes.
Scizor @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 236 HP/252 Atk/20Spe
Nature: Adament
- Bullet Punch
- U-Turn
- Brick Break
- Pursuit
BP Allows Scizor to hit a nice 60 (after technician) STAB priority move with another powerup from choice band. The extra speed lets him posibly outrun other priority attackers.
Starmie @ Life Orb
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 4HP/252SpA/252Spe
Nature: Timid
- Surf
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam
- Recover
Surf is a nice STAB move for Starmie. Thunderbolt lets her hit those DD Gyarados for a OHKO. Ice Beam is a nice middle finger to Dragon DDs. Recover counters the recoil of Life Orb

Ability: Liquid Ooze
EVs: 252 HP/120Def/136SpD
Nature: Calm
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Knock Off
- Rapid Spin
I guess you could call him my defenseive pokemon. Knock Off takes out items, obviously, Rapid Spin kills spikes and whatnot. Surf and Ice Beam are just good for damage.

Nature: Jolly
- Pursuit
- Sword Dance
- Ice Punch
- Brick Break
Before competitive play this would single handedly take out all of my friends teams. I couldnt say no to this guy.

- Hidden Power (grass)/Roar*
Not sure why he was chosen, my friend just said that based on the rest of the team, he was a must have.
*havent checked his Hidden Power attribute, if it isnt grass ill use Roar.
