Basic Strategy: Venomoth starts by putting things to sleep, and switching out with U-Turn. Absol and Sharpedo are the bulk of the team, with help from Aggron.

The Team:

dpmba049.png

Venomoth @Leftovers
Ability: Tinted Lens
Timid with: 196 HP / 96 SpA / 216 Speed
- Bug Buzz
- Toxic Spikes
- Roost
- Sleep Powder

Venomoth has decent type coverage, and decent speed. I saw this set on Youtube, and it works really well. Venomoth only needs one attacking move, because Tinted Lens takes care of resistances.

dpmba359.png

Absol @Life Orb/Scope Lens
Ability: Super Luck
Naughty with: 252 Atk / 6 Def / 252 Speed
- Swords Dance
- Night Slash
- Psycho Cut
- Fire Blast

Basic physical sweeping Absol. Great type coverage, and with Super Luck, Night Slash can take down things quick. Fire Blast to take down Steels, mainly Steelix. Scope Lens is for those critical hits, and Life Orb if the opponent doesn't prefer that I use Scope Lens.

dpmba344.png

Claydol @Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
Bold with: 252 HP / 114 Def / 144 Spe
- Calm Mind
- Earth Power
- Ice Beam
- Rest

Clam Mind Claydol. Calm Mind up, and then take things down with Earth Power and Ice Beam. Rest and Calm Mind make Claydol hard to take down, since Water, Grass, and Ice are special moves.

dpmba306.png

Aggron @Leftovers
Ability: Rock Head
Adamant with: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 6 Speed
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Stealth Rock
- Roar

Mainly support. Sets up a Substitute, and Steath Rocks. Roar to get some damage with Rocks, and Focus Punch to deal a bunch of damage.

dpmba326.png

Grumpig
@Leftovers
Ability: Thick Fat
Bold with: 252 HP / 156 Def / 102 SpD
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Psychic
- Calm Mind

dpmba319.png

Sharpedo @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Rough Skin
Hasty with: 64 Atk / 192 SpA / 252 Speed

- Surf
- Earthquake
- Crunch
- Ice Beam

Mixed attacker Sharpedo... with Choice Scarf. This thing is fast, and it has coverage.

Conclusion: I'm new to UU, so this team isn't the best. Weak to bug, I think. Lots of help will be appreciated.

Counters: Don't know UU too well. >.>

Interesting team.

I would maybe alter Aggron's moveset a little, having Focus Punch as the only attack could lead to some issues. I would run Stone EWdge over Roar.

Fire Blast on Absol may not be abad idea, considering the popularity of Steelix. Your set works too though.

X-Scissor and Psycho Cut and both somewhat disposable moves Psycho Cut hits fighting types and helps hit some of the poison types. X-Scissor for other darks and Leafeon/Meganium. Persoanlly I think Fire Blast would be better over X-Scissor since UU lacks dark types (Skuntank and Drapion are only hit for neutral anyway)

I would advise a fire type for dealing fire and grass attacks that your team has trouble with.

There are also many sleepers in UU, so get a Sleep Talker.

Absol shouldn't be Adamant when using Fire Blast for obvious reasons, go with Lonely if you're switching him on special attacks, or

Naughty if you find him switching on physical attacks often.

If you feel like Aggron isn't good for a supporting role, he should lose Stealth Rock and Roar for Stone Edge and Earthquake.

The Aggron set is unusual, and I would change it. SubPunch is impractical with Stealth Rocks and Roar. I would change it to Stone Edge + Earthquake, or Stone Edge + Brick Break (preferably the former as the latter gives Nidoqueen free switch-ins).

Hitmonchan carrying Ice and Fire punch will probably wreck you. expecially if it's agility and gets in one, with it's high special defense and resistance to sharpedo's physical STAB it would be hard for your team to take down.

Grumpig could go over Gastrodon, using it as part of a defensive core would be kind of redundant.

@umbarsc: I see your point, changes made.

@PirateDelux: You're right, I don't have anything to damage fighting. What set would I use for Grumpig? I was thinking the Rest-Talk set with Psychic and Calm Mind.
