My First UU Team

This is my first UU team. I am new to UU, and I need all the help I can get. Please make changes a lot, but no spammy comments :)

ninetales.png

Ninetales:Timid:Focus Sash
Flash Fire
252 special attack, 252 speed, 4 special defense
Nasty Plot
Flamethrower
Energy Ball
Hypnosis

Starter, sleeper, and set-up special sweeper. Pretty standard. Put something to sleep, then set-up and sweep.

dodrio.png

Dodrio:Jolly:Choice Band
Early Bird
252 attack, 252 speed, 4 hp
Brave Bird
Quick Attack
Return
Pursuit

Choice Bander. Hits things hard and fast. Pretty standard set.

shuckle.png

Shuckle:Impish:Leftovers
Sturdy
252 hp, 96 defense, 160 special defense
Body Slam
Stealth Rock
Encore
Rest

Massive Wall. Takes hits like a beast and then he can rest if off.

grumpig.png

Grumpig:Timid:Leftovers
Thick Fat
252 hp, 20 special defense, 236 speed
Substitute
Psychic
Calm Mind
Hidden Power Bug

Special attacker and special wall (after a few Calm Minds). This thing can be hard to beat after a couple Calm Minds, especially if it has a Sub up.

nidoking.png

Nidoking:Rash:Life Orb
Posion Point
200 attack, 252 special attack, 56 speed
Earthquake
Hidden Power Grass
Ice Beam
Thunderbolt

My mixer, and a good one at that. This thing hurts all things, and be unpredictable.

claydol.png

Claydol:Bold:Leftovers
Levitate
252 hp, 144 defense, 114 special attack
Rapid Spin
Explosion
Psychic
Shadow Ball

Spinner and wall. When this thing is done, it explodes in your face. I went with explosion over stealth rock. Was this a good choice.

Thanks for reading. Remember, I'm new at this, so make a lot of changes, but be nice.

You have 3 stealth rock weaknesses and no great answer to "QuakeSlide" (Earthquake and Rock Slide) which is a little more common in UU since there arent many Bronzong floating around (though no one uses it very well in UU bar the new Aerodactyl, and Steelix is ok at it). However, I don't really get what Electrode is doing for you and you can easily add a Claydol with Rapid Spin/Earth Power/Psychic/Explosion if you want. It solves some of those overall physical issues, gives you Rapid Spin, and you can still explode on something that might be giving you problems.

Opposing Ninetails can also cause you fits if they get set up, especially if they run Nasty Plot/Dark Pulse/Fire Blast/Energy Ball. Glaceon also will pound something in with Ice Beam from Specs or Scarf. Grumpig can wall special attackers, but with the way you are approaching yours he can get worn down easily and has trouble stopping some special threats before they set up too much for him to stop. A way to help with that, if you did include Claydol in the team, would be to shift Shuckle to a slightly more special defense build to stop those threats.

And also a final nitpick, I prefer Toxic > Body Slam on Shuckle. Body Slam paralysis is great, but Toxic can actually net you a kill with the Encore/Rest/Toxic combination to stall out opponents. Its your own call though

Nidoking: Drop Earthquake, add Earth Power. Change Hidden Power Grass to Hidden Power Fighting or Psychic or consider using Sucker Punch. While Nidoking is more effective on the physical side, a special Nidoking can be equally effective in catching the opponent off guard.

Electrode:
Drop for a Rapid Spinner such as Blastoise considering that your team is Stealth Rock weak. Blastoise can take a Surf that would otherwise kill Ninetails or Nidoking. Likewise, you could use Venusaur for Aromatherapy and will bait Fire-Type attacks allowing you to switch in Ninetails and boost Flash Fire.

I like the sound of Claydol, I think I will replace Electrode with him.

I like the shuckle the way it is, but I will try the ev changes

Thanks, but no thanks. I much prefer body slam.

Thanks for rating.

I really don't think this sounds like a good idea. I have enough special sweepers on my team, and another would drag me down on the physical side. I think i'll stay with the mixer set.

I think I'll go with the claydol as a rapid spinner, and if I should use venasaur, who should I replace?

Thanks for rating.

What have I told you about multiple posts? You kept on doing this and it has led me with no choice.

While I am here, I would like to ask you to improve your descriptions on each individual Pokemon. Right now, those are too short: "Massive Wall. Takes hits like a beast and then he can rest if off." We want more than that, so ensure you add more detail to each set.

Pokefreakman, you have a MASSIVE Armaldo weakness.
Consider the following set:

Armaldo @ Life Orb
Adamant
252Atk, 252 Spe
-Rock Polish
-Stone Edge
-Earthquake
-X-Scissor

If this thing gets a Rock Polish off then the game is as good as lost for you. It will outspeed and OHKO every single member of your team.
That's a pretty big weakness if you ask me.

To go about fixing this I would firstly change either Ninetales, Shuckle or Dodrio, since they give you that glaring Rock weakness. I think out of these three, Shuckle would be the best choice to get rid off, seeing as you can give Stealth Rock to your Claydol.
Replace Shuckle with something that resists Rock. Hitmontop would be a great addition to this team. I would recommend the Technitop, as that would also add some bulk while still retaining decent offensive capabilities. It would also help your team out a lot by providing useful priority moves for Revenge Killing and getting rid of fast, frail threats.

Hope this helps.

I would just like to point out that IF you replaced body slam with toxic taunt would mess you up. Instead keep knock off over body slam.

Hope that helped! ^^
