My first UU team

K peoples after a year of lurking I finally decided to downlowd Shoddy. I really hate making RMTs but found it necessary hereI am finding I like the UU environment much more than OU (mostly becauses of those cut and paste movesets).Anyway I suck at this intro crap and have no important info about the team as a whole. I don't even know if I can call it a type of team (bulky offence, Stall, etc...) I have a win to lose ratio of a comfortable 60% I would say. I know that what you are about to read will most likely be boring, but I could really use your help on this one. Anyway here is the team.

Persian (Miren) @ Focus Sash
Jolly-252 Spe/252 Atk/4 HP
Ability: Limber
-Hypnosis
-Taunt
-Frustration
-U-Turn

Okay, here is my trusty lead. Average, but trusty. Persian is rather situational and, with Hypnosis, sometimes prevents Jumpluff from setting up . I am seeing all sorts of wierd leads though, so normally it does its job. One time it won me the game and I am grateful for that. Its Item bothers me as normally it isn't OHKOed anyway. However, I don't want life orb because with persians medioce attack, it would only add as much damaged as about as much as the life orb recoil did, so meh. U-turn is for scouting and Frustration is for STAB and it's cooler than return. Obviosly limber is there because there is no Technichian. I really have no complaints about Persian. There isn't much wrong with it. Unfortunately there isn't much right with it either. Willing to change.

Jumpluff.png

Jumpluff (Matilda) @ Leftovers
Timid-252 Spe/288 Def/68 Sp.Def
Ability:Chlorophyll
-Leech Seed
-Substitute
-Encore
-Sleep Powder

Ah Jumpluff. The one Poke that's never managed to let me down. Aside from its sheer awsomeness, Jumpluff fuffills many roles in the team. It is the only thing stopping people from sweeping me with their boosted sweepers (encore). It can temporarily take out a problem pokemon (Sleep Powder) and it can Subseed. Jumpluff has won me lots of matches, as normally my opponent will take out everything except it with last poke and I subseed stall the last pokemon. However it the opponent is faster then I lose, but I have 350 spe so normally I win. I don't really have much problem with taunt either. This thing is too important to replace and no one can do everything that Jumpluff can. Please don't make me replace it.

relicanth.png

Relicanth (Fish of DOOOOM) @ Choice Band
Adamant-252 HP/252 Atk
Ability: Rock Head
-Head Smash
-Waterfall
-Earthquake
-Double-Edge

LOL the only attack I ever really use is Head Smash. Its so Insainly powerful. Doesn't everything add up to be like a 300 base attack move. C'mon, that's just ridiculous. It OHKOs so many things its not funny. However, that is where the good stuff ends. With proper use of swithcing my opponents can easily defeat it. However I have had plenty of games where Relicanth takes down 2-3 pokes before he falls. That's always good. I am not against replacing this guy but generally want to keep him on the team. If you give me a good reason to and I agree then I suppose we'll still be friends.

blaziken.jpg

Blaziken (The IRS) @ Life Orb
Mild-252 Spe/232 Sp.Atk/24 Atk
-Fire Blast
-Superpower
-Vacuum Wave
-Hidden Power Grass

Blaziken has given me mixed results. Sometimes, its friken amazing. Sometimes, it doesnt' even do anything. I really don't use Vacuum Wave that much, and when I use HP Grass, it is usually on something that can kill me. If you've ever used Blaziken you probably know how I feel. I really can't think of anything more to say about him. Afterall we all know what it does. Its far to common and standard for you to not. The only real change is in the EVs. I didn't kill a Registeel one time with Superpower so I tweaked them to KO on average. I am debating on whether or not I should use ScarfKen here. I have had situtions that go for both sets. meh

v2dex132.gif

Claydol (Clay With Me) @ Leftovers
Bold-252 HP/144 Def/114 Sp.Def
Ability: Levitate
-Toxic
-Rapid Spin
-Steath Rock
-Explosion

The weak link of my team. I often only get SR up, and I don't like that. Even when I explode I'm not that powerful. I am hesitant about switching to Donphan because he cannot take special attacks and Claydol is my only real defensive poke. I really would like some help with this one guys. As cool as the nickname is I am only to willing to replace him. He has never been an MVP once. EVs are just thrown together. I have nothing elst to say about him.

Mismagius.png

Mismagius (Beyonce) @ Leftovers
Timid-252 Spe/252 Sp.Atk/4 HP
Ability: Levitate
-Substitute
-Nasty Plot
-Shadow Ball
-Hidden Power Fighting

Mismagius is my unreliable sweeper. I get a sweep off maybe 50% of the time. I'm happy it has nasty plot now instead of Calm Mind. I can get a nasty plot off real easy most of the time, but Mismagius is easily revenge killed. I don't really have much on my team to take that revenge either. The team isn't necessarily based on a Mismagius sweep. I don't even like them that much. I just used it because in the strategy dex it said Mismagius was a good partiner for Blaziken. Mismagius has only gotten off a good sweep once I'll have you know. He killed 4 of the opponent's team right off the bat. Mismagius can easily sweep slower teams, but nowadays not most teams are slow.

FINAL NOTES AND PROBLEMS
1. My team can't switch around much do to the frailty of everyones defences (with Claydol as the only exception).

2. My main sweeper is... lacking

3. Some of my guys are just all around average

I'm pretty sure I faced this team on Shoddy. I don't really remember some of the pokes, I just remember the Jumpluff named Mitilda and the Persian lead. Since, as you said Persian can almost hinder Jumpluff from setting up by not allowing it to sleep a counter, I would suggest Ambipom>Persian.

Ambipom@Silk Scarf
Jolly
4 / 252 attack / 252 Speed
Technician

Fake Out
Return / Double Hit
Payback
U-Turn

This makes a really good lead, Fake out is obvious, Return / Double Hit is a matter of preference, I like double hit, because with it, you can stop a rampent SubPunch Azumarril, but over all, the accuracy can let you down, so, whatever you like. Payback lets you strike Ghosts. I think in this instince, since you have only one poke weak to to SR and a spinner it is better the Taunt.

I also think Aggron should replace Relicanth, since it can do the exact same job, just with much more power behind it. It can also have the exact same type coverage, with arguably better typing.

Aggron@Choice Band
252 Attack / 4 Def / 252 Speed
Jolly
Rock Head

Head Smash
Aqua Tail
Low Kick
Ice Punch

Head Smash does masses of damage, and just as with Relicanth, it will be your main attack. Everything else just hits things that would want to come in to a head smash, mainly Donphan.

I've also had decent success with a Claydol set with your same Ev's, relaxed nature, and a moveset of Earthquake/Ice Beam/ Rapid Spin/SR, this provides a decent check to Raikou and DD Altaria.

That is about all I can see at the moment,
Good Luck

Just a note i found...the reason claydol's explosion isnt as strong is because you have a Bold nature and not impish..bold lowers attack making explosion's power much weaker...Also for the blaziken set...a much more productive set ppl have been using is the Sword DAnce set...Sword Dance+Superpower KOs everything in UU that doesnt resist it...

Blaziken@ Life Orb
252 Attack, 252 Speed, 6 Defense
Jolly/Adamant
-Sword Dance
-Superpower/Low Kick
-Fire Punch,Flare Bltiz,Blaze Kick
-Thunder punch/Stone Edge/Quick Attack

Alot of options to chooose from...As stated before SD+Superpower KO's everything in UU...Low Kick is a variable but it doesnt give you an attack drop though...Fire punch IMO seems better as majority of the time you need use a fire type move and not a fighting or support move, its against someone with weak defenses and can be easily KOed by any fire move...The 4th slot is support for your two STABs...thunder punch sometimes KOs milotic without the need for superpower...These are the damage calcs(They are done from somewhere else)

+2 Adamant Blaziken's Thunderpunch vs Bold Milotic Max Defense= 372-436 HP...Very high chance of being a OHKO

+2 Jolly Blaziken's Thunderpunch vs Bold Milotic Max Defense= 339-397 HP
Very Low chance of OHKO..

But after Stealth rock damage Milotic is KOed either way..Stone edge is for altaria and quick attack for dugtrio and other faster sweepers..Wont guarentee KO but it's better than letting Dugtrio trap and get a clean hit on you....Jolly is the preferred nature to get a speed tie with venusaur and gallade and who always runs Jolly nowadays...Adamant is still always an option though
lol wow that was kinda long sorry bout that mate

GOODIE, Godsend I remember you. I don't remember your team or if I won or not but I remember your name. I cant wait to try everything out to see how they work. I see what your saying with Aggron Godsend, but Relicanth catches alot of the "slower"people off guard. Regardless, I will try it out. For you Jamashaw, I will try out the Blaziken of course but I predict it will give me much the same results as my current blaziken. I'm prolly gunna go Swords Dance, Superpower, Blaze Kick, and Quick Attack, thanks for everything.

However, if either of you are reading this I still need help adding some bulk to my team (or at least a way of swtching out without having to go to Jumpluff to annoy the opponent into a switch. Also, I'm really not happy with Mismagius so any help with that would be good.

Definately go with Ambipom > Persian. Persians biggest selling points over Ambipom are Switcheroo and Hypnosis. You aren't using the former and the latter is useless because you have Sleep Powder on Jumpluff anyway. The added power of Ambipom will be usefull.

I noticed also that strong scarfers or speedy sweepers can run though your team. A simple SD/EQ/Leaf Blade/Rock Slide Sceptile 6-0's your team after an SD. Calm Mind Alakazam and Swellow are also major problems because you don't really have answers for them. With residual damage, lack of lefties, and U-turn Relicanth can't handle Swellow.

What I propose is that you give Blaziken a Choice Scarf.

Blaziken@ Choice Scarf
Nature:Rash
Ability:Blaze
Ev's:84Atk/184SpA/240Spe
-Fire Blast
-Superpower
-Hidden Power Ice
-Stone Edge/Thunderpunch

Blaziken is an awesome revenge killer because it has the moves and natural power to stop sweeps. Fire Blast is your special STAB and allows you to revenge kill things like Sceptile, SD Venusaur, Toxicroak, and Scyther, among other things. Superpower is your physical STAB choice that OHKO's Chansey and Clefable, who'd love to absorb Fire Blasts when they find out you're scarfed. It's also your best move for Milotic. Hidden Power Ice allows you to outspeed and OHKO DDAltaria, who's another problem for this team. Thunderpunch helps give you a boltbeam combo and helps you against Slowbro, but he's not being phazed by it anyway. That's why I recommend Stone Edge as it OHKO's Moltres and helps against other Fire types such as Arcanine.

Good luck. :)

Definitely take Thund's suggestions regarding Ambipom. employ the scarf set on Blaziken, as relying on Ambipom to check so many threads is not really recommended. Another suggestion I'd like to make is replacing your Relicanth with a CB Aggron. As you mentioned, Relicanth's job doesn't go much beyond spamming Head Smash, and that's something Aggron can do much better with 20 more base attack, better defenses and thus more opportunities to come in and basically access to the same moveset. Bear in mind that you won't have a STAB water attack anymore, but that's a moot point when the extra power of Head Smash and access to Low Kick add up. Low kick also takes out many Rock resists like Registeel and Rhyperior. The set I have in mind is the following:

Aggron @ Choice Band
Nature: Adamant/Jolly (that's up to you)
Ability: Rock Head
EVs: 4 HP/ 252 Atk/ 252 Spe (you might want to tweak this according to your team's needs)
-Head Smash
-Earthquake
-Aqua Tail
-Low Kick

Good luck with the team, hope I've helped =)
