My First UU team

Ok, so after dewlling in the OU ladder for a month or so i got bored mence after mence scizors and the same old same old so i decided i wanted to make a UU team. At first i thought hmm SR/spikes RS and sweepers....hmmm seems boring so i decided to do an offensive team with a little bulk and this is what i came up with.

157.png

Typhlosion (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 6 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Eruption
- Hidden Power [Water]
- Seismic Toss/Focus Blast
- Extrasensory

My suicide lead. CS eruption hits first almost all the time, or HP water for resist and the other 2 attacks are what was left over from his LO sweeper days retired as an eruption suicide lead

Evs are standard Max SpA to boost eruption even more and max speed to ensure first hit

Quagsire (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP/66 Atk/192 SDef
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Curse
- Earthquake
- Ice Punch
- Recover

I battled someone the other day and they had one of these mudpuppies on their team and i was like O.O raw power eh? and now with recover from HGSS he can recover the pain away after a curse and sweep away. the only problems ive had with him are bulky pokes.

More of my Bulky poke hes Eved to take hits but still be able to attack. exactly my style but hes not too bulky that he cant do anything

Toxicroak (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Dry Skin
EVs: 6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Poison Jab
- Swords Dance
- Ice Punch
- Earthquake

ever sence my Diamond days i drooled over the "fighting frog" as me and my brothers call'em. SD and sweep is the basic mentallity with this set LO for the extra kick although he still seems kinda weak he's one of the staples of my team.

Max attk and speed what else is there to run on a adamant SD fighting frog?

Ambipom (M) @ Silk Scarf
Ability: Technician
EVs: 6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Fake Out
- Return
- U-turn
- Taunt

my "noob pokemon" as someone called him the other day. i chose to not use him as a lead simply because hes very useful late game FO weaker pokes return or Uturn away. basic setup with a silk scarf so that FO and return do more damage.

pretty much the same story as the Frog
---
452.png

Drapion (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Battle Armor
EVs: 6 HP/252 Atk/252 Def
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Crunch
- Toxic Spikes
- Earthquake
- Cross Poison

ahhh my tank Drapion has saved my arse so many times i need more fingers...and toes. his sheer bulk just negate SE moves and he just hits back..harder. TS on a switch is a surefire way to set them up and then just crunch away. Leftovers for a bit of extra hp.

Enough bulk to take an EQ or two but enough attk to KO alota pokes. i ran impish over adamant for the extra bulk that i think suits him best.

Honchkrow (M) @ Expert Belt
Ability: Super Luck
EVs: 252 Atk/252 Spd/
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Night Slash
- Superpower
- Drill Peck
- Sucker Punch

Honchkrow. the suprise revenge killer. no one expects me to be carrying heat wave so they send in steel types and boom theyre down. so far hes been an amazing powerhouse on my team and really is only weak against anythign faster than him.

max attk and more speed than satk for standard sweeping but enough satk to make use of heatwave

Well this is my UU team im open to any suggestions. i just started getting into competitive battling a month or so ago so go easy? haha thanks for reading

Hello enber! Choice scarf Typhlosion Leads shouldn't be running Siesmic toss. Just go for a Focus blast. As you are using both Special and Physical move son Honchcros go for Naive nature instead of Adamant.

Hope this helps.

yeah like i said the typ was a life orb sweeper so 100 damage a hit isnt that bad and focus blast seems kinda gimicky because if it misses im locked.. and yeah i agree on honch ill deffinatly do that thanks :)

I don't have time for a proper rate but I do have something to say about Honchcrow. Why are you using Heat Wave? The only types it hits super effectively are Bug, Grass, Steel and Ice. Brave Bird destroys any Grass or Bug type and you can smack steel types with Superpower. The only Ice type in UU is Froslass who outspeeds you and would never switch in against Honchcrow so you can't hit her on the switch. I suggest you replace it with either Pursuit to trap fleeing enemies, or Sucker Punch to hit faster pokemon, or even Roost. That way you can move the S.Atk EV's to speed. You should also change its nature to either Adamant or Jolly (imo Adamant is better) and its item to Life Orb to give it more power. Super Luck works well with Night Slash, but Insomnia can help against sleep inducers.

Actually 100 damage a hit is really bad when you could do a lot more damage, especially on something like Typhlosion who isn't exactly known about its bulk...

well i run heat wave because its unpredicted in most cases and it hits w/o the recoil of BB and if i had BB w/ LO id be using roost alot and losing health at an even greater rate wouldnt you say?

thanks for the suggestion tho...im thinking about using sucker punch over pursuit because of the speed thing

If you are put off by the recoil of Brave Bird, you could use Drill Peck instead. You do lose some power but still an 80BP Stab move coming from 125 base Atk still hits like a truck.

yeah i guess that would work my team reallly doesnt have a major LO sweeper walking so i think that would be the best route to go
