Hello. This is my team on VGC 2013. I pieced it together carefully. Here it is:
Politoed @Choice Scarf, Drizzle
Evs: 252 Spa / 252 Spd / 4 Hp, Timid
-Scald
-Surf
-HP Grass
-Ice Beam
This will be my starter, mostly because I can set up a drizzle, and if no other Pokemon sets up the weather due to their ability, I can do some heavy damage. Scald is there to screw over threats that have a high attack power, Surf is there to power up Gastrodon, and hit both opponents for great damage. HP grass is to counter Pokemon like Gastrodon, Swampert. Ice beam is great for taking out Pokes like Latios, Garchomp, Hydreigon, and more. Choice Scarf was chosen because its speed wasn't very good, even with Max Speed EVs + Timid.
Gastrodon @Rindo Berry, Storm Drain
Evs: 252 HP/ 52 DEF / 204 SDEF, Sassy
-Scald
-Recover
-Toxic
-Icy Wind
This Pokemon is usually paired up with Politoed due to the fact that Surf is on Politoed, and can take advantage of it. No damage from it, plus the boost from Storm Drain makes it pretty tough. Scald is there for STAB coverage, plus can burn physical foes. Recover is there for healing off the damage done to Gastrodon, toxic is there to deal with walls, and icy wind is for decreasing the speed of the foes, and dealing with dragons (but not much though). Rindo Berry was chosen due to Gastrodon having a hard time with grass typed pokemon.
Metagross @Lum Berry, Clear Body
Evs: 252 HP/ 252 ATK / 4 SPE, Adamant
-Bullet Punch
-Earthquake
-Zen Headbutt
-Protect
Just simply hard attacking. Bullet punch is there for killing off Pokemon with 1 HP or higher (by a bit). Earthquake is standard for Metagross, and is useful for threats that can't be handled easily. Zen Headbutt is for neutral damage on Zapdos, Rotom-W, etc. plus STAB. Protect is simply a good choice for it just in case it gets hit with my teammate's attack, plus to shrug off attacks by the opponent. I chose Lum Berry just in case for status.
Garchomp @Yache Berry, Sand Veil
Evs: 4 HP/ 252 ATK/ 252 Spe, Jolly
-Dragon Claw
-Earthquake
-Rock Slide
-Protect
Simply aggressive. Dragon Claw is for killing off dragon types. Earthquake is there for annoying threats such as Terrakion, Metagross, Electric Types and others. Rock Slide is for attacking both opponents and hitting Zapdos for Super-effective damage since earthquake can't hit it. Protect is there for simply guarding. I chose Yache Berry because it simply can't take a hit from ice typed attacks.
Cresselia @Light Clay, Levitate
Evs: 252 HP / 52 DEF / 204 SDEF, Calm
-Icy Wind
-Reflect
-Light Screen
-Helping Hand
This cresselia is ANNOYING. Icy Wind is the only attacking option, but it can lower the Speed of other pokemon, which is nice. Light Screen and Reflect is great to have to support my teammates, plus Cresselia. Either one will be used depending which one is necessary. Helping hand is for helping out my teammates attack HARD. Light Clay is used to make light screen and reflect last longer.
Thundurus @Electric Gem, Prankster
Evs: 4 HP / 252 SPA / 252 SPE, Timid
-Thunder
-Thunder Wave
-Hidden Power Ice
-Substitute
Meant to be annoying while dangerous. Thunder is STAB coverage, plus dealing damage on annoying water walls real hard. Politoed makes it rain with drizzle, so it can do good damage there. Thunder Wave is for spreading paralysis, and due to its ability, it can get away with it, unless if the opponent has a lum berry, or is immune. Hidden Power Ice is for coverage against Grass and ground types. Substitute is where I can just simply hide in to protect me against damage and status, and I hope to not get hit. Also, I can make the sub waste a gem. I chose electric gem because while I was going for Yache Berry, Garchomp already has it. Might as well make thunder even more powerful.
So, what do you think? Please give me feedback! Edit: Changed around the EVs for Gastrodon and Cresselia due to a mixup on my part.
