I am new to Gen V and only started out this past weekend so I'm still learning the ropes but this has been my most successful team so far with about a 60% win ratio on the showdown server. The premise of this team for me was to get 3 excellent offensive threats and pair them up with some good defensive support. Simple enough, eh?
Conkeldurr @ Choice Band
Trait: Guts
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Drain Punch
- Ice Punch
- Mach Punch
- Fire Punch
Hits like a tank. Nothing gives me that :justin2: face like getting guts going along with the CB. My only qualm is his lackluster speed but thank goodness for mach punch. Has relatively high staying power with drain punch.
Metagross @ Choice Band
Trait: Clear Body
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Meteor Mash
- Pursuit
- Bullet Punch
- Hammer Arm
One of my favorite babies from the 386 days but he has to be used differently now. No longer is explosion a go to option for that 4th slot but meteor mash+choice band+high attack still hits everything like a nuclear bomb. Bullet punch is there to help out with that lackluster speed once I have my opponent on the ropes and need to clean up the last remnants of health on my opponnents pokemon.
Latias (F) @ Light Clay
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 HP / 4 SAtk
Timid Nature
- Light Screen
- Reflect
- Healing Wish
- Draco Meteor
I kind of stumbled on this thing because I was training a Latias on BW2 cartridge totally wrong (offensive) when I should have been using a more defensive oriented style. Double screens+light clay gives all my choice band dudes lots of leeway on what they can switch into. Healing Wish gives my CB dudes a second chance at life. I was using roar for the majority of the time but I figured I'd give Draco Meter a shot. I do however need a hazer/phazer now...
Blissey (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Bold Nature
- Softboiled
- Thunder Wave
- Seismic Toss
- Aromatherapy
Special Wall. Heals Status. Paralyzes opponnets team so my CB dudes can move like lightning relative to them. Not much to say about Blissey that hasn't been said since GSC days.
Starmie @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 HP / 4 SAtk
Timid Nature
- Ice Beam
- Thunder Wave
- Recover
- Rapid Spin
Rapid spin coverage. More paralysis support for my CB dudes. Ice beam for the thousandmillionbajillion dragons that seem to have popped up since 386.
Terrakion @ Choice Band
Trait: Justified
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- X-Scissor
- Quick Attack
OMG this thing is AMAZING. So much pure raw unadulterated power. This is usually the poke I lead with. Kind of reminds me of CB Aerodactyl from 386 but so much better. Fast and hits hard. CB close combat is no joke.
My main problem with this team has been games that go long and baton pass/substitue teams. I need to squeeze a phazer/hazer in here. So, go nuts guys and help me get my skills back up to par with all you youngins.
