My latest team, and a good one

So, I've been testing out lots of different pokes/sets lately, the idea being to create a pool of usable guys, and then begin slapping those together on a team, making replacements when necessary. This team is the result, and has been performing very well.

Bronzong@Iron Ball
Ability: Heatproof
EVs: 252HP, 152Att, 8Def, 96SpD
Nature: Relaxed
- Trick
- Stealth Rock
- Gyro Ball
- Explosion
Never thought I'd be using Heatproof Zong, but here I am. Infernape/Heatran just love switching in and Fire Blasting away, only to find out my ability and get an Iron Ball in return. EQ is not used cause even though it would take out those two, Trick allows me to screw over fliers, especially Rotom forms and Zapdos, allowing Mamoswine to nuke them with a super effective EQ. Robbing walls of their Lefties is also cool. Stealth Rock, Gyro Ball, and Explosion are all staples on Zong.

Heatran@Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252Sp Att, 252Spd, 4Att
Nature: Naive
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power
- HP Ice/Electric?
- Explosion
I wish there was someone who could fill ScarfTran's role as well as ScarfTran, but such a poke simply doesn't exist. Standard, keeps threats in check, and has awesome resists/immunities.

I'd like opinions on his Hidden Power type. I've always run Ice in order to revenge kill Mence/Flygon stuck in Outrage, but with Scizor/Mamo, I can't even remember the last time I had to use it. Perhaps a change to Electric for some added Gyara coverage is in order? Then again, you can never be too safe with the dragons...

Breloom@Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 252Att, 252Spd, 4HP
Nature: Jolly
- Focus Punch
- Leech Seed
- Spore
- Substitute
Why doesn't everyone run the SubSeed set? I've tried him out with Seed Bomb over LS, and he really just didn't work too well. SubSeed causes huge problems for a lot of teams, forcing switches that both rack up SR damage, and can reveal teams early game. A 100% accurate sleep is also invaluable in this metagame. Jolly cause I'm a speed freak, and cause so few people expect it. Overall, Breloom is just a very solid team member(and annoying for my opponent of course).

Zapdos@Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252HP, 220Def, 36Spd
Nature: Bold
- ThunderBolt
- Heat Wave
- HP Grass
- Roost
Man is Zapdos awesome. Held off on trying him for the longest of times cause he was so standard, but finally gave him a try to help rid myself of my Fighting weakness. Really was a smart choice on my part. Scizor, Luke, Heracross, etc. no longer bother me. His coverage is also great, hitting many important foes. My only question about this guy is does his EV Spread fit my team the best? I added him to help with mostly physical threats, hence the EV Spread, but I'm not always sure if it's the absolute best one for me. Suggestions for a new spread are welcome.

Scizor@Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 100HP, 252Att, 156SpD
Nature: Adamant
- Bullet Punch
- U-Turn
- Pursuit
- Brick Break
I love CB Scizor. Firing off super powered U-Turns all day long is incredibly fun. Bullet Punch is of course awesome for finishing off weakened pokes, while Brick Break is very helpful for taking out the Screens, not to mention SuperPower's Att/Def drops turn me off. Pursuit punishes annoying ghosts and psychics, namely Gar. EVs allow for fairly easy switching into most Special threats.

Mamoswine@Life Orb
Ability: Snow Cloak
EVs: 252Att, 252Spd, 4Sp Att
Nature: Naive
- Earthquake
- Ice Shard
- Ice Beam
- HP Elec
MixMamo, sans Hail and Blizzard. Ice Beam still 2HKO's most Physical walls. Ice Shard adds a second powerful priority move to my arsenal, taking out the Dragons and Skymin. Earthquake is incredibly powerful, and forms the dreaded Ice+Ground combo that Mamo is so famous for. Earthquaking the Rotom forms/Zapdos is incredibly satisfying. HP Elec 2HKO's Gyara, and hits Skarm for around 40-47%. I'm considering changing back to Stone Edge, as it hits Gyara as hard as HP Elec after the intimidate, and I now have Ice Beam to hit Skarm with(137.5 vs. 140), and so SE would allow me to hit Hera/Abomasnow much harder. However, Gyara is a lot more common than those two, and I really dislike SE's accuracy....Opinions? Unlike past teams, Mamo is not played so much as an endgame sweeper, because of the prevalence of Scizor. Instead, he gets all game to ravage my opponent. Mamo really is an awesome poke, no team of mine is complete without him.

Notes- A bit of a Fire weak, but I've been able to play around it thus far. One poke that I know could help this is Dragonite, namely the Light Screen set, which I would absolutely love to fit into the team but don't know how. I'm in the unfortunate position of having 7 guys I want to use and only 6 slots. I'm really unsure of who I might swap out, as the team is functioning very well at the moment.

Gyarados- Scary. Bronzong isn't always around to explode, and he doesn't take much from Scizor/Mamo's priority attacks. I usually have to explode Tran to get rid of one with a DD under its belt. This is where HP Elec on Tran could prove very helpful.

Infernape- Not always a problem, quite a few get crippled my Zong, not to mention Tran can revenge kill, but still he can hit every guy on my team really hard, and so I have to be very careful when playing around with him.

Heracross- I've come across very few so he hasn't actually troubled me much yet, but when you look at my team, the only guy not destroyed by his STABs is Zapdos, and we all know that Heracross carries Stone Edge for a reason.

If you notice any other weaknesses that I've missed, please state them.

I don't know why you dislike Superpower on Scizor; even after the first Attack drop, it still deals more damage than Brick Break, and the drops shouldn't even matter much, since Choice Band Scizor will rarely stay in for more than a couple of turns. Superpower OHKOs Heatran, whereas Brick Break will fail to do so; even with Stealth Rock, Brick Break only OHKOs a third of the time. Meanwhile, Brick Break's screen-shattering ability shouldn't come into effect much. You probably won't be using Brick Break while the screens are being set up, since most Screeners are Psychics, and even Bronzong is hit harder by X-Scissor, and I doubt you'll want to use Brick Break while something is setting up.

On zong, running EQ over gyro ball is probably a better idea because of your heatproof. Even with STAB, its going to be expected, so EQ would come as a surprise to a number of people and scoring easy KOs on potential threats.

Just glancing about, I'd say you have a Gyarados weakness. I'd probably add a Celebi over Breloom, sure you lose the sleep but you can always Para shit, and still Leech Seed things. It's just more solid verus Gyarados!

Great Sage: Well firstly even though most screeners are part Psychic, none carry anything that can harm Scizor, even if I am locked into a NVE BB. Anyways, I'll give Superpower a try, for the bigger damage output. I still don't like those drops <_<

Olimarman: I think I'm going to stick with Gyro Ball. Trick punishes Infernape/Heatran in the form of slowing them down, which basically means Mamo bait. Even if I've Tricked away Iron Ball already, I have no problems with just Exploding on them.

Aeroblacktyl: I'd be losing some offense, but patching up my Gyara weakness once and for all is tempting. I'll consider it, but before that I think I'm going to test HP Elec on Heatran. Heatran then may be able to better keep Gyara in check, while allowing me to keep Breloom. That said, Jolly Gyara looks like it'd have fun with me, even though it's pretty rare.

This is not an offensive team, so the terms of revenge killing Gyarados with Heatran with Hidden Power Electric isn't gonna work, mostly because Heatran cannot come into a STABed Waterfall or Earthquake, so I would strongly consider what MoP said.

Venom: This team may not be considered offensive, but my play style certainly is. I make sacrifices often, so Heatran certainly would have the chance to revenge kill Gyara.

Anyways, I'm still thinking over Breloom vs. Celebi. Adding a defensive poke over an offensive is usually not my favorite thing, though I'm willing if it must be done. I'm just not sure it must be done. Gyara may cause my team troubles, but he's never actually swept me. The reason he's so troublesome is that if he gets a DD, I have to sacrifice someone, and explode Tran just to take him down. That's a third of my team gone, not to mention my fastest poke. With HP Elec, I keep Heatran alive instead of having to explode. Oh well, it's kind of moot cause I can't do any testing 'till Monday. In the meantime, opinions are welcome, though I'm currently leaning towards keeping Breloom, because as I've said, I have to sacrifice+explode in order to take out a +1 Gyara, but with HP Elec I still have my Heatran.

Seeing as how Ice Fang is rarer nowadays, if you REALLY want to keep Breloom, I'd make it a more defensive one. Probably get it's speed to what, 207 to outspeed min Suicunes, max HP and dump the rest into Defense. It still at least resist WF/EQ/SE that are still frequent on Gyarados. Of course you'd also need to have Seed Bomb, otherwise Taunt will still prevail.

Well if Taunt is being used, it's most likely a BulkyGyara, and BulkyGyara probably can't get past the physically defensive Zapdos.

Honestly, for Bronzong, if you usually cripple Infernape/Heatran on the switch-in, I would probably just take the Fire Blast and Earthquake them to hell, and use a more useful item. With the fire weak on your team, if Bronzong removes the two OU ones early, your team will have a much easier time. With Iron Ball, if another lead Tricks you, you will be locked in to something while they still get to do something else.

Meh, keep Hidden Power [Electric] on Mamo. With Naive and max speed you can surprise kill most of them as they try to force you out. With Gyarados as such a huge problem you need all the help that you can get.

Peachfuzz: I suppose I could try EQ over Gyro Ball, as someone else mentioned, but still I'm not sure if ko'ing them on the spot is necessary, seeing as with Gyro Ball they're nothing but Mamo bait. I still want to be able to Trick Iron Ball though, for Levitators/Fliers. Also, regardless of my item if a lead Tricks me, it'll get to do something else.

The issue of HP Elec vs. Stone Edge on Mamo isn't really about how hard he hits Gyara. An intimidated SE hits about as hard as HP Elec. With HP Elec, I gain perfect accuracy, which means no losing Mamo cause of random SE misses. But with SE I gain hits on Abomasnow and Heracross, and CBCross can actually cause this team a lot of troubles. Opinions on which to go with are welcome.

RaikouLover: EB wouldn't push Skarm into 2HKO range, as I run LO and he isn't even 2HKO'ed(Skarm takes 40-47% currently). Perhaps you're thinking of MixMamo's Blizzard?
