After a lot of testing and changes i have come up with this team, which seems to be the most balanced yet. However, i feel there is still a lot of room for improvement.

TEAM LINEUP

Lead

gliscor.png

Item: Leftovers
Ability: Sand Veil
Nature: Jolly
Evs: 252 HP, 40 Def, 216 Spe
Moveset:
Stealth Rock
Earthquake
Roost
Stone Edge

Can set up Stealth Rock and deal a fair bit of damage to the opponent while shielding team from offensive attacks. Earthquake gains STAB, while Stone Edge can deal with flying types, which are immune and Roost and Leftovers help it stay around to set up. Gliscor combos well with Mismagius who can take the special hits and after a W-o-W can switch into Gliscor and stall. She also covers his weaknesses with Thunderbolt. The only thing that worries me about Gliscor is its x4 ice weakness, which it shares with Salamence, but i'll need to test some more before seeing if it is a real problem.

Swords Dancer

Item: Leftovers
Ability: Technician
Nature: Adamant
Evs: 32 HP, 252 Atk, 224 Spe
Moveset:
Bullet Punch
Swords Dance
Superpower
X Scissor

Bullet Punch can take out weak pokemon, which are attempting to sweep and after a Swords Dance it can take out most things with it's coverage. It's lack of speed can be dealt with through Bullet or Mismagius, which can inflict Paralysis to slow the opponent down.

Special Wall Inflicter

Item:Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
Nature: Calm
Evs: 252 HP, 4 Speed, 252 SpD
Moveset:
Will-o-wisp
Thunder Wave
Shadow Ball
Thunderbolt

Special wall, which can take a hit and stop opponent's boosted sweeper with Will-o-Wisp or Thunder Wave. Being Ghost it can step in to block Normal Attacks, Fighting Attacks and Ground Attacks. Can also block Rapid Spin and it's high SpA can deal some damage with Thunderbolt (which was needed in the team to deal with Water types) and Shadow Ball, which gets STAB. I'm still working on this build so i need suggestions.

Rain Dancer

kingdra.png

Item: Damp Rock
Ability: Swift Swin
Nature: Modest
Evs: 92 HP, 252 SpA, 164 Spe
Moveset:
Rain Dance
Surf
Dragon Pulse
Ice Beam

After a Rain Dance Kingdra should outspeed most things and her lack of weaknesses and two STAB moves + Signal Beam give a good coverage allowing to sweep. Still not sure if Ice Beam would be the better option over Signal Beam as it has more type coverage and Froslass will be gone by the time Kingdra sees play.

Special Sweeper

alakazam.png

Item: Choice Specs
Ability: Inner Focus
Nature: Timid
Evs: 252 SpA, 4 SpD, 252 Spe
Moveset:
Psychic
Shadow Ball
Focus Blast
Trick

With maxed out Speed and huge SpA with Choice Specs and STAB Psychic, Alakazam is going to take out at least 1 of it's opponents. Trick is there to deal with Blissey or any other opponents which get in the way, while the other two attacks cover his weaknesses. I'm still not sure if Gengar would be the better option here seeing as the team lacks Thunderbolt and blocks Fighting, Normal and Ground attacks, but that would mean having to sacrifice Psychic which covers Fighting types as there are no Flying type moves in the team.

Physical Sweeper

salamence.png

Item: Life Orb
Ability: Intimidate
Nature: Adamant
Evs: 252 Atk, 4 HP, 252 Spe
Moveset:
Dragon Dance
Outrage
Stone Edge
Earthquake

His moveset has a great coverage and after a Scizor Sword Dance/Agility or DD there isn't much that can stop him. I went for a build that is different to the standard because i don't really like sacrificing SpDef, especially because of his main threat being Ice Beam. Fire Fang over Fire Blast takes advantage of the atk boosts and allows me to max out on Atk.

My main problems with the team are the lack of Electric and Grass moves, which are needed to deal with Water types (especially Gyrados) before bringing out Salamence to sweep. There are the odd moves, which genuinely am not sure about and probably lack the experience to know what is best. Any help or suggestions would be great as i have been trying to perfect this team for a while now and am fairly new to competitive battling. Thanks in advance.

It's good, but you have no real defense to speak of. Tauntrados, Scarftran and Weavile are all going to give you problems. You have 2 SR weak pokes, and the rest are vulnerable to spikes/toxic spikes. Scizor is filling a lot of roles in this team, is baton passing really the best choice for him? Salamence already has DD. Cradily would function so much better with sandstorm support. You also have no stealth rocker. Hippowdon could really give your team hell.

I'm not sure what to change, but I think the froslass lead needs to go. Stealth rock is almost always better than spikes, which is better left to something like skarmory which can set all three layers while walling and causing switches. A suicide lead just doesn't have the time. Azelf could fill this spot well. A SR/taunt/uturn/explosion set will help with scouting and sending in counters. A fast explosion can never be overlooked as well. How about nasty plot mixape instead of kingdra? No other team member benefits from rain dance, and salamence won't be doing much damage with fire fang under weather. Mixape will help deal with bulky grounds and waters. A slow bulky Uturner like celebi, jirachi or gliscor will give you an easier time switching in.

I can't see cradily working at all. You plan to pass attack boosts to cradily, and have it soak up speical hits with 96 spD EVs ad no SS? What if your opponent has a fast specs user? Specsluke resists rock slide, is immune to toxic, and is going to rip you apart with aura sphere.

Maybe Gliscor would be a better option over Cradily with U-Turn, Roost, EQ and Stone Edge then? With Cradily gone i guess the Baton-Pass set isn't needed so much for Salamence and Scizor can have a sweeper moveset instead. I see what you are saying about the Rain Dance conflicting with Salamence so i can either change Kingdra as you said because there is definitely need for an Elemental Attacker here or Salamence's Fire Fang for Stone Edge, which would leave me without a way to deal with Steel Types...

Tentacruel would be a lot better over Cradily.Cradily is only a good wall under sandstorm conditions.

Tenta can set up toxic spikes, absorb them, spin, and counter pokemon like SpecsMence,LeadApe and frailer water pokémon with Surf and Ice Beam or HP Electric depending on your team(HP Elec would be better in your case).

Well if i get rid of Froslass i should have a Stealth Rocker/Spiker and a Ghost type to block Rapid Spinners and Fighting, Normal and Ground type attacks. Gliscor works as a Stealth Rocker, but shares a x4 weakness to Ice so maybe it isn't such a good choice... I'll test Tentacruel out, but another Poison Type might do a better job...

Updated Team

Any ideas for an alternative lead?

Just a quick note, Rotom-A can do exactly what missy is doing, only better. It is usually best with a set such as Sub,WoW,T-Bolt, and Shadow Ball.
