**My New Team*+

Hey guys I've been competitively battling for many years now and I find exploring team options nearly as fun as battling itself. The strategy that goes into the process of out thinking your opponent directly derives on the Pokémon & move sets you have chosen. It always seems to be Murphy's Law when you add/take a move or an item away when it would of fit perfectly with what you're up against! That's Pokémon I suppose! You have to be ready for anything and everything.

Galvantula
EV'S-Max SPEED/Max HP
IV'S-31/31/31/31/31/31
Ability: Compound Eyes
Item: Focus Sash
Nature: Timid
Shiny: Yes

-Thunder
-Sticky Web
-Toxic
-Spider Web

This is my lead. 99% of the time. Setting up the Sticky Web is absolutely necessary for the sweeping nature of my team. The only time I wont is when Espeon or Mega Absol comes out first predicting the move with Magic Bounce...So i'll most likely switch and save it. Same if there is a spinner on their team The Focus Sash enables me to get off that Sticky Web, and then either Poison their lead with Toxic, keep them trapped with Spider Web, or go straight away for the if its a Water/Flying/etc type.

Breloom
EV'S- Max ATK/Max SPEED
IV'S- 31/31/31/X/31/31
Ability: Technician
Item: Expert Belt
Nature: Jolly
Shiny:Yes

-Swords Dance
-Bullet Seed
-Drain Punch
-Spore

This can be switched in at any time after Sticky Web is in full effect. Gotta go for Spore 1st, set up a SD, by that time I can go for either move for the most part, depending on what comes in. Bullet Seed for Choice Scarfers/ Water/ ground/ Rock/ etc. then the STAB Drain Punch at +2 is always a plus due to its power plus recovery. If Breloom is used properly it can be very dangerous from what I've found in my experience battling with/against it.

Gliscor
EV'S- MAX HP/ 76 ATK/ 180 SPEED
IV'S- 31/31/31/31/31/31
Ability: Poison Heal
Item: Toxic Orb
Nature: Jolly
Shiny: Yes

-Toxic
-Substitute
-Protect
-Earthquake

This is the standard Toxic Stall set. Not Much to be said here, everyone knows what it's here for as soon as it hits the field... I do run it Jolly though because of the chance of getting off that 1st Toxic, which leads to the Substitute followed IMMEDIATLY by the Protect. Then as its health is Creeping down, EQ in its face.

Mega Medicham
EV'S- Max ATK/ Max SPEED
IV'S- 31/31/31/31/31/31
Ability: Pure Power
Item: Medichamite
Nature: Adamant
Shiny: Yes

-Drain Punch
-Ice Punch
-Fire Punch
-Bullet Punch

This thing is like Cinderella, just sweeps all day. Everything about this Mega screams sweep. One of the last Mega's I tried out competitively and was NOT disappointed! the Pure Power plus STAB Drain Punch is lethal. Ice/Fire Punch for Coverage, and Bullet Punch for Priority. Tinkered around with his set for a while and settled on this one. It has great coverage.

Kingdra
EV'S- 1/2 HP/1/2 SPATK/ Max SPEED
IV'S- 31/X/31/31/31/31
Ability: Sniper
Item: Scope Lens
Nature: Timid
Shiny: Yes

-Focus Energy
-Draco Meteor
-Ice Beam
-Surf

Yep. Its the Sniper Kingdra. The CRIT machine. This broken-ish set works wonders and I don't consider it cheap since it takes a couple things to set it up properly. The Draco Meteor plus CRIT does not effect the decrease in SPATK drop. It nullifies it if it's used consecutively. Which pretty much kills everything in one shot... The 2x CRIT ability Sniper works wonders as well. This is exactly why setting up that Sticky Web in the beginning is so important. Get up the Focus Energy, tank a hit, and let the Meteors fly!

Florges
EV'S- Max HP/ 1/2 SPATK/ 1/2 SPDEF
IV'S- 31/31/31/31/31/31
Ability: Symbiosis
Item: Leftover
Nature: Calm
Shiny: Yes

-Aromatherapy
-Wish
-Moon Blast
-Energy Ball

This thing can take/give hits all day. Its a tank and is very under appreciated in competitive battling. The Aromatherapy is a must, same as Wish. Instead of doing the classic Wish/Protect, I gave it 2 SPAttacking moves for coverage and because it's SPATK base stat is 112, pretty damn decent for a SP wall. The only down side to this poke is not really having an awesome ability... I mean really... At least I have it's hidden one. It's almost like having a Chancey/Blissy that can dish out stronger hits and has the immunity to Dragon. Yeah a STAB Moon Blast to the face from this thing cant be too fun.

Anyway guys, I would appreciate any feedback/ suggestions you might have. Since I tried it out, I have gone 18-6 with it. Pretty good start =)

Crit Kingdra is hilarious. So demoralizing to get hit by anything from that asshole. Bonus points for running that thing.

One thing though. Not really a critique but just something I was confused by. Can't help but notice you're running poison heal on Breloom but with an Expert Belt? You also go on to reference yourself being poisoned after setting your SD up, but without a toxic orb I don't know how this would happen. I'm also not sure what you're talking about when you say "double attacking power from poison", but I've probably missed something.

Birrywong

Yeah sorry about that man I was actually in the process of changing over Breloom from Poison Heal/ Toxic Orb and scratched Façade for Bullet Seed. This was before I added my Gliscor, I was running a Volcarona...long story haha
Anyway I fixed it to what it currently is right now and I've just increased my record to 38-15. It's working very well but there is always room for improvement. This is probably one of my better assembled teams since the one I used during B2/W2 to win tournaments.

So what do you think?

I'm pretty new to competitive myself, but this team is really weak to Talonflame. Nothing other than Gliscor can take more than two Brave Birds and three of your guys get OHKOed for sure, Flare Blitz outspeeds Galvantula and OHKOs even with Adamant Nature, BB 2HKOs Kingdra, so you'd have to sacrifice something to get a safe switch in for that. So if something took out Gliscor with a Talonflame on their team, you're pretty vulerable. Florges also gets 2HKOed and can't do much back. Not to mention that Sticky Web doesn't effect it.

Not really sure what I'd switch out, but I'd definitely put either a Stealth Rock user or a bulkier water (if you went with the latter, swap out Kingdra). I personally like using Tentacruel@Black Sludge, Bold Nature (Toxic, Scald, Protect, Rapid Spin) which would also allow you to spin away opposing Sticky Web as well as give you another Toxic user which is always nice. You already have quite a bit of fire power anyways. Just my two cents though.

Sylveon completely outclasses Florges as a cleric. It has higher HP, but it's slower (Florges is still slow) and it has slightly lower SpDef. Thank's to Pixilate, Hyper Voice on Sylveon hits a lot harder than Moonblast on Florges. The set is:
Sylveon @ Leftovers
252 HP/ 252 SpDef/ 4 SpA
Calm Nature
-Heal Bell
-Wish
-Hyper Voice
-Protect

This is the standard set for Sylveon, and is basically the same as your Florges one. The only difference is Hyper Voice is a lot stronger than Moonblast and Protect has replaced Energy Ball. If you don't want Protect your only options are... Shadow Ball or a Hidden Power. Yeah, it's a pretty bare movepool. Protect is far superior as it lets Sylveon reliably heal herself.

Sorry for the double post. I noticed what the guy above me said.

If you replace Kingdra with a Talonflame counter, which you need, try Rotom-W. There's a reason is the most used pokemon in OU. He counters Talon, acts as a great pivot, and has fantastic typing. Try this set:
Rotom-W Leftovers
253 HP/ 252 SpDef/ 4 SpAtk
Calm Nature
-Hydro Pump
-Volt Switch
-Will-O-Wisp
-Pain Split

This is another standard set. Hydro Pump is for a powerful, though inaccurate, STAB. Volt Switch lets you keep momentum switching without wasting a turn, and WoW lets him wall physical attackers. Pain Split lets him regain HP while lowering the opponents. You can also run a Sassy nature on him to make sure he out slows other rotom when you both volt switch, thus letting you keep momentum.

Replace Drain Punch on Breloom with Mach Punch. A priority Technician boosted STAB is an amazing move on a pokemon as slow as Breloom. Sticky Web is too unreliable with all the defog users in OU.

Thanks for your input. I've actually com across a few Talonflames with this team and you are correct about me being weak to that brave-birding bastard. The only thing is, every time I saw him he came out as a lead against my Galvantula, and mine is f-sashed. One Thunder from my Galvantula has always OHKO it. And still managed to get off my Sticky Web with 1HP ;) it is a little risky though, I do understand that. I'll look into replacing my Kingdra with either a R-Wash or a Rhyperior or something like that. Thanks for your input!

Thanks for your input! Even though it's so much fun wrecking everything with Crit-king Kingdra, it's not smart to let Talonflame run a muck around my team. I'm going to try that R-Wash set or my own Rhyperior set that I have on another team. Now about the Mach punch idea, it's a good one. I realize that boosted Mach does a great deal of damage plus priority. I do like the fact that when I'm drain punching a common wall in Ferrothorn with iron barbs an rocky helmet, I get my Hp back =) I'll deffinetly consider it! It's probably a safer her you're right. Thanks!
