Welcome!
Hello and thanks for looking at my new RMT. Hope you enjoy!
Picking the Team
From the start I wanted to make a team based around Charizard X, and I used a pretty standard set on him.
Next, I chose Togekiss, because it's immune to ground and dragon, two things Charizard is weak too, and it's a powerful pokémon in its own right.
To prevent Stealth Rock and rock types in general from ruining my team, I chose Excadrill with an offensive rapid spinning set to help out.
By now I'd also decided that I needed a revenge killer. Keen to try something new I chose Choice Scarf Hydreigon, with a powerful set that can hit pretty much anything neutrally.
Finally I wanted two good defensive pokémon. I chose specially defensive Rotom-W to deal with ice type attacks that may challenge my team, as well as to counter Talonflame.
My last pokémon was Skarmory, which, similar to Togekiss can take Dragon and Ground type attacks, but it also sets up hazards for my team and can phase with Whirlwind.
Sets and Stuff
Charizard @ Charizardite X
Ability: Blaze
Nature: Adamant
EV: 252Atk, 252Spe, 4Hp
- Flare Blitz
- Roost
- Dragon Claw
- Dragon Dance
This is a pretty standard Mega 'Zard X set, and it can set up to sweep once its counters and checks have either been killed or severely damaged by the rest of my team. I chose Adamant over Jolly because ideally whenever I attack I'll be at +1 Speed so the extra speed is a little unnecessary. However, the extra power is REAL. Kind of. I may be wrong on that choice of nature, so correct me if I've done it all wrong.
Togekiss @ Life Orb
Ability: Serene Grace
Nature: Modest
EV: 252SpA, 196Spe 60Hp
- Dazzling Gleam
- Air Slash
- Fire Blast
- Roost
I've always liked Togekiss as a pokémon and its buff this gen gave it two immunities very helpful to my team, so I gladly chose it. I already wanted to have Skarmory and Rotom-W as a defensive core so I wanted a bulky attacking set on my Togekiss. The speed to my knowledge out speeds Jolly Tyranitar and Breloom. I chose Fire Blast over Aura Sphere because it's more powerful and allows me to hit lots of Steel things that Togekiss is weak to, as well as Grass and Bug types that it walls. I went all in for Special Attack over HP because I want POWER.
Excadrill @ Air Balloon
Ability: Mold Breaker
Nature: Jolly
EV: 252Atk, 252Spe, 4Hp
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Rapid Spin
- Swords Dance
Excadrill is the only rock resist on my team so because of that he gets under a lot of pressure quite often, as well as when he has to perform spinning duties on top of that. I chose Jolly because it can give me a chance to use Rapid Spin then another move whenever I out speed something I wouldn't be able to if I had Adamant instead. I wasn't sure what item to use but I chose Air Balloon because it lets me remove Sticky Web a lot easier. I chose Rock Slide over Shadow Claw (which I usually run) because with Jolly and Swords Dance, Rock Slide is much more beneficial for a potential sweep.
Hydreigon @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
Nature: Timid
EV: 252SpA, 252Spe, 4Hp
- Draco Meteor
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power
- U-Turn
It's a shame that this thing is in UU at the moment because I think it's still an OU threat. Scarfed, it doesn't have a lot to fear about fairy moves because there are no fairy priority moves that do damage. As a revenge killer on my team, Hydreigon functions very well with its ability to kill Heatran as well as do a TON of damage to anything that isn't a fairy or steel type with Draco Meteor, giving it opportunities to revenge kill pokémon from above half health. U-Turn give great momentum and can be extremely useful on a predicted switch.
Rotom-W @ Chesto Berry
Ability: Levitate
Nature: Calm
EV: 248Hp, 252SpD, 8SpA
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Will-o-Wisp
- Rest
I kind of hate Rotom-W because everyone uses one and they are very hard to beat. That's not a particularly good reason, but anyway, one reason why I do like Rotom-W is because of its ability to be a stunning special wall, as well as an excellent way to beat off Talonflame. Those two factors are why I chose it for my team. The burning and momentum that this pokémon causes is very helpful. I use Chesto-Resto because it helps you to recover fully from low health, although I will admit its worse in a stall war.
Skarmory @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
Nature: Impish
EV: 252Hp, 252Def, 4SpD
- Brave Bird
- Roost
- Stealth Rock
- Whirlwind
I knew I needed rocks on my team, and I wanted them to be on the physical wall that I was lacking. I chose Skarmory because it can almost always get up Stealth Rock with Sturdy and then it can phase as well. It also has access to a useful recovery in Roost. Skarmory lets me tackle ground and dragon types effectively as well as a lot of physical attackers, as long as they lack a fire type attack.
The End Part Thingy
That's the end of my RMT! I hope you liked the team. Any improvements will be very helpful as I'm pretty new to this battling stuff. Thanks for helping!
Sorry but none of the pictures have loaded/worked :( can someone tell me how too fix this plz...
