My New Updated Team

This Current Team is the modified version of the team I had last week. The old team was 1-3 so i made a lot of changes and this new team is 5-0 thus far and I am really happy about the way it is working for me.

Aerodactyl @ Focus Sash
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 4hp/252atk/252speed
Nature: Jolly
~ Stealth Rock
~ Taunt
~ Rock Slide
~ Earthquake

Skarmory didnt work out as well, so i am trying the switch to aerodactyl. I love the taunt ability and the quick stealth rocks. He makes a great counter lead and I believe he wil give me a better shot than skarmory as a lead.

dpmba145.png

Zapdos @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252hp/220sp.def/36speed
Nature: Calm
~ HP Ice
~ Roar
~ Thunderbolt
~ Roost

I Love Zapdos. He is such a beast. Roost is an obvious recover move for when he gets low. Thunderbolt and HP Ice give type coverage. I replaced Light Screen with Roar so I could have something to stop them from setting up.

dpmba448.png

Lucario @ Life Orb
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 4hp/252atk/252speed
Nature: Adamant
~ Extremespeed
~ Swords Dance
~ Close Combat
~ Crunch

Typical Swords Dancing Luke. It is such a beast, after one swords dance this guy has a chance to sweep. And his moves give me coverage against many types. He has won me a few battles by himself. I is a great late game cleaner.

dpfba094.png

Gengar @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 6hp/252sp.atk/252speed
Nature: Timid
~ Thunderbolt
~ HP Ice
~ Shadow Ball
~ Focus Blast

Gengar has been recently added since I found out Deoxys-E was banned. He is obviously not as good and Speed but he is still very good. His move versatility has helped me a lot and he is staying unless I can be convinced to get rid of him.

dpmba068.png

Machamp @ Leftovers
Ability: No gaurd
EVs: 252hp/252atk/6speed
Nature: Adamant
~ Stone Edge
~ Sleep Talk
~ DynamicPunch
~ Rest

Of all the sleep talkers I have used I must say I like this one best. He is very stable, can take a hit, rest up and deliver a hit too. with his monsterous attack and high HP i figured he'd be a natural sleep talker for my team.

dpmba130.png

Gyarados @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 4hp/252atk/252speed
Nature: Adamant
~ Waterfall
~ Dragon Dance
~ Earthquake
~ Stone Edge

Gyrados is just such a beast there is no reason not to use him. After a dragon dance or two it is time to sweep the opposition.

I would go for Brave Bird on Skarm. I was a drill peckker for a long time, but after changing to Brave Bird I really noticed the difference in power, you can roost off the damage anyway, so that should be fine. You can't expect to do much to Gyara with Drill Peck. BB is definately the way to go.

Your team is very Zapdos weak, gengars can only hit it with HP Ice and the rest cannot set up on it or really do much to it. Machamp can hit it with stone Edge but can'r switch in. Blissaey is the obvious choice and does well with Skarmory, but if you find the lack of Attacking momentum disparaging then use Snorlax instead. Snorlax makes a very potant late game sweeper as does Lucario, and can rest off sleep status like Machamp. I would suggest replaceing one of them with maybe a Rest Curselax or something of that kind. CB Lax is also a nice alternative ^^ Curselax will give you another sweeping change so that will do well. Last pokemon Curselax is still awesome in this generation, after 4 / 5 curses you are taking little more than 30% from Heatran / Gengar Explosions too :D

I don't know how well lead Skarm does, but with all the trick leads floating around I'm sure it's not that effective at the moment. Skarm is too weak to special attacks to be brought out blindly IMO. Lead Skarm only really helps out against Bulky Gyara. Taunt Skarm won't really work against fast trickers so maybe it is a good idea to replace your lead with something else and use skarm to set up later, you are also using Skarm mostly for Stealth Rock, you could replace him with something like forretress who can set up andother entry Hazard alonside SR and can Explode later in the game (Can spin too), and lead with gengar or maybe you could try something like trick Scarf Stealth Rock Yawn Uxie which would also work quite well. I suggest a less suceptable lead that will give you a bigger advantage early game. Bronzong will proabably work fine too as he shares a lot of skarmory's important resistances.

i like the lead skarmory right now it is working, it will suck when platinum comes out but for now i believe it is good. I took forretress out for skarmory.

Since you already have a Phazer in Zapdos, I would consider switching out Whirlwind on Skarmory for Spikes. That way, if you come up against a probable TrickScarf lead, you can use Spikes instead of Stealth Rock and be able to set up more entry hazards before being forced to switch out. In fact, you can all but guarantee two layers of Spikes this way, as after the trick you will be faster than them (most of the time) and able to lay down another layer before getting hit by a Tbolt/Flamethrower for the KO. And if they don't have anything that can OHKO, you guarantee all three layers down, which is quite the boon (taking 25% off of any non-flyer non-levitator on their team).

One other thing I would suggest is including some form of Rapid Spinner on your team. You only have one Pokemon vulnerable to Toxic Spikes, and he has a way to cure it, and only two vulnerable to Spikes, but you have two different Pokemon with a stealth rock weakness, and of the other four, only Lucario resists it.

Also, you might consider Choice Scarf on Gengar. This will allow it to revenge kill (or come in on a stat-up move and KO) many threats, including Gyarados, Skymin, Salamence, Dragonite, Tyranitar, etc. Even after a Dragon Dance (on all of those except skymin, who can't DD, but you need scarf to outspeed him in the first place).

Azelf @ Life Orb
Timid
252 SpAtk 252 Speed 4 HP
-Psychic
-Thunderbolt
-Flamethrower
-HP Ice

4 Of your Pokemon are weak to this, Lucario can't safely switch in and Extremespeed can be seen coming a mile away, and Zapdos will have trouble switching into if Stealth Rock is in play.

I'd reccomend Ice Punch on Lucario, if this is shoddy, or try finding someone who will teach it Ice Punch (check for scammers though!). When the Plat. move tutors where found out, everyone thought that Luke would be unwallable, but it suffers from 4 move syndrome. Ice Punch means that Dusknoir laughs at you, but you have Gengar for scaring him off, so then you can use Luke to pwn Gliscor and Nidoqueen.

First off Ice Punch SD Luke should be Jolly to hit neutral salamence / Gliscor before they KO you back.

So where do you suggest me fix my team? you barely ever se this azelf online by the way.

Are you kidding on Wifi i used to see it all the time, and trends don't change too much on there anyway. Sweeper Azelf with Explosion > HP Ice is very common from what I remember and is still a very potant sweeping set in the metagame. Peoplew just tend to decide it is better for Suiciding for some reason. It rapes four of your mons to start off with i don't know if Lucario can KO with an unboosted extremespeed. Calm Zapdos is the one thing you have going against it, which will slow it down, but wont nessecarily stop it. It is a shaky defence if i may say so myself. You could try running something like CM Cress over what Zapdos is doing it may run reasonably similarly, but will allow you to deal with stuff like that. It may also allow you to attempt a sweep at the end.

used to, he is not as used anymore and when he is it tends to be as a lead stealth rocker. I do want to try cresselia actually.

I know for a fact that Wifi does not go through trends nearly as much as smogon. When I played i had effectively a "squad" of pokemon, only those I could use. At the end of the day the fact is that sweeping Azelf does exist and is an issue for you. Even your Calm Zapdos will be 2HKOd 78.3% of the time factoring in Stealth Rock and Leftovers Recovery. He outspeeds all of your pokemon the only pokemon that can hit him is Lucario who does:

51~60% if Adamant and
46.5~54.5% if Jolly

both a definate 2HKO, but Azelf will need to have taken 3 or 4 Life Orb damages before that is in KO range. We have seen Zapdos can't safely switch in and nothing else you have is a defence. So don't tell me "You don't see it any more" it is not an uncommon threat and one that thoroughly rapes you.

Well in all my battles back so far I havent seen it yet. I am just telling you what I have seen. I want to get rid of zapdos or gyarados but not sure which should go, thoughts and a replacement.
