My new UU team

Hello! I've been into Competitive battling for a little over a week now, and I'm getting alot better, but obviously I'm not perfect. This is my newest UU team, and I'd like to have a little advice on how to make it better. I've had people criticize my teams in the past, and they have turned out a lot better.

scrafty.gif

Scrafty @ Leftovers
Ability: Shed Skin
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SDef / 4 Atk
Adamant Nature
- Rest
- Bulk Up
- Drain Punch
- Knock Off

I wanted to start with Scrafty, so I did. I also heard that he got a buff to his defenses in the 6th generation, so I decided I'd go with specially bulky attacker.

jolteon.gif

Jolteon @ Choice Specs
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Signal Beam
- Hidden Power [Ice]

I was looking through some of the fast pokemon of UU, and decided to go with jolteon. I also thought Volt Switch would be a nice touch to add some momentum to my games.

donphan.gif

Donphan @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spd
Impish Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Ice Shard

Just went with a standard Rapid spin/Stealth Rock set here, cause I'd assume that's what works best for him, so not much to say. I'd obviously also be using him for defensive switch-ins.

jellicent.gif

Jellicent @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 SDef / 252 HP
Calm Nature
- Toxic
- Protect
- Scald
- Recover

I've always loved using Blissey as a stall pokemon in OU, and Jellicent was as close I was going to get. Also not much to say, as this is a pretty standard stall set I'd guess. You can see how it works.

haxorus.gif

Haxorus @ Lum Berry
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Outrage
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Low Kick

I'm using Haxorus as a Physical attacker. That's about it. I decided to go with Swords dance over Dragon Dance cause I also put 252 in 252 speed IVs, and I wanted to get my attack up faster, because IMO the Reflects and Light Screens don't last very long.

jirachi.gif

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 212 SDef / 148 HP / 148 Def
Careful Nature
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- Zen Headbutt
- Thunder Wave

I knew Haxorus was pretty weak, defensively speaking, so I decided to go with Jirachi as mostly support for him. Decided to get a little creative and try to come up with something myself, so I didn't look up any builds for this Jirachi. I knew I would use it when I saw it could learn Reflect and Light screen, as well as Thunder wave. I was questioning whether I should use U-turn over Zen Headbutt, and decided to go with Zen Headbutt for some reason, and loooking back on it, I will probably just change it to U-turn, because it makes most sense for Haxorus support.

Thanks!

This team kinda breaks teh rule of 2 lines per description, so you might wanna fix that up real quick

You should run Roserade instead of Haxorus due to the fact that you have a mostly physical which means you will easily get sweeped by a curse set from about anything. The roserade should be technician holding black sludge with the moves sludge bomb, mega drain, toxic, and leech seed. It should have max defense and sp. attack with the extra 4 points on sp. defense.

No. Just no. Roserade can come, but try something along these lines.
Defensive:
Roserade @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 240 SDef / 16 Spd
Calm Nature
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Spikes
- Rest

Offensive:
Roserade @ Life Orb
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Hidden Power [Fire] / Hidden Power [Ice]
- Dazzling Gleam / Shadow Ball / Extrasensory

Firstly, offensive roserade abuses Rest or Synthesis alongside Natural Cure to still pivot for offensive teams that hate status. It also utilizes Sleep Powder to it's full extent due to LO STAB Sludge Bomb eliminating grass switch ins.

Anyways onto the rate. This is honestly a pretty solid team, but I do feel the sets leave a little something to be desired. This team for starters is very weak to offensive fairies such as Mega Gardevoir, who run complete trainwreck through this team. The next problem I see is having nothing to revenge kill pokemon that have set up such as opposing DD Haxorus, or a Nasty Plotted Mega Houndoom.

The easiest solution to your first issue is to run Choice Scarf Mienshao over Scrafty. Not only does this give you a great revenge killer against threats who would previously set up and run through you, but it also brings you offensive momentum in U-Turn so that you can always make the correct switch, and yet maintains Knock Off's great Utility, and pivoting capabilities. It's removal of Dragon Dancers and other setup sweepers as threats makes your team just that much more reliable.

My next suggestion is to run Mega Manectric over Jolteon, since it is basically Faster, Bulkier, Harder Hitting, and has better coverage, alongside the lack of a need to be choice locked for power, making it an infinitely better choice and making Jolteon completely outclassed in the current metagame unless your mega slot is taken. There is no reason not to use Mega Manectric here.

My final suggestion is to change Jirachi to Standard Specially Defensive jirachi. This is because you will have a much easier time beating the previously instated threat of Gardevoir, and to be 100% honest I do not feel that you need screens support as Haxorus is still relatively easy to set up with or without screens to at least +2. Instead, with Specially Defensive, you will be able to support your team with wishes (which your members really appreciate), and you can spread paralysis much more easily!

Congrats on the fun team!

Wow, these are pretty good suggestions! I see what you mean with these. I'll make the changes. thanks.

if you're gonna rate his team, at least give him a good set. That is a terrible roserade set, learn the metagame more before recommending bad things. I don't mean to come off as harsh, but i am

Jirachi is okay but now you may want to replace him with Klefki. Also, use light clay to make screens last longer

your team seems decent but there is one last thing I would do.

Replace Jolteon with Mega Manectric. It is faster and has more power without choice specs. Also, he has intimidate which can be very useful for gaining momentum so you could intimidate then volt switch to Haxorus.

And yes, use DDance over swords dance. If you use light clay on the screener, you will be much more successful.

I agree that if you're deadset on Haxorus then run dd over swords dance. Also I know it might seem strange but you should consider running poison jab over low kick so fairies don't completely screw you. Not to mention it is an uncommon move so you get a nice surprise factor. I used posion jab on my haxorus with a lot of success.
