My offensive UU team (Surprise inside!)

This is my first real offensive team for UU… Well, what is the surprise? I draw some ugly pokemon pictures!

Nidoking @Focus Sash
Ability: Poison Point
EVs: 252 Att / 252 Spe / 4 Def
Nature: Jolly
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Sucker Punch
- Taunt

I’ve heard that every good offensive team has pokemon that can set up rocks, so here it is: the SuicudeKing. I’ve seen many people that succest Nidoqueen over Nidoking, but I prefer more Nidoking due to greater speed; I don’t want to get Taunted by other suicude leads (In other words, Nidoqueen and opponent’s Nidoking).

Venusaur @Choice Specs
Ability: Overgrow
EVs: 236 Hp / 20 Spe / 252 Sp.Att
Nature: Modest
- Hidden Power Psychic
- Leaf Storm
- Sleep Powder
- Sludge Bomb

I love Specsed Venusaur. Leaf Storm ohkos almost everything that doesn’t resist it. The set seems to be bit weird, but let me explain it. Analysis succest Sludge Bomb on SpecSaur. I have never used it, so I covered it with Sleep Powder, which is much more useful. With Sleep Talk, I can switch into sleeping moves and greatly surprise opponent. Hp Ice is for Altaria and other Grasses.

Rotom @Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Hp / 252 Def / 4 Sp.Att.
Nature: Bold
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Thunderbold
- Will-O-Wisp

Rotom fits perfectly to this team. It has immunity against tree types, it can wall those damn fighters, it also can also absorb status well, and last, but not least, it is the only pokemon that can restore health in my team. I’ve been considering putting Thunder Wave over Will-O-Wisp, because this team is pretty slow (if you don’t count number of priority moves) and Rotom’s ugly face is usually enough to scare off figthers and other slow physical pokemons.

Kabutops @Life Orb
Ability: Shift Swim
EVs: 4 Hp / 252 Att / 252 Spe
Nature: Adamant
- Aqua Jet
- Return
- Stone Edge
- Sword Dance

What a amazing pokemon. After one Sword Dance, Aqua Jet ohkos a LOT of stuff. This thingy has swept so many times, it isn’t even fun. This thingy is also easy to switch in. Analysis succest Aqua Jet and Waterfall on same set, but in my option, it is waste of moveslot. Waterfall is only useful against Steelix and Claydol, because boosted Aqua Jet can’t ohko them, so I put Return over it, cuz boosted return can usually ohko Toxicroak and Poliwarth if they switch into Stealth Rock.

Hitmontop @Life Orb
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Hp / 252 Att / 4 Spe
Nature: Adamant
- Close Combat
- Fake Out
- Mach Punch
- Bulled Punch

Every good offensive team has revenge killer, so here it is. Not much to say.

Drapion @Scope Lens
Ability: Sniper
EVs: 252 Att / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Nature: Jolly
- Earthquake
- Sword Dance
- Night Slash
- Aqua Tail

It’s Drapion. Sword Dance once and whack stuff down. It can hurt everything pretty well with Night Slash and Earthquake, so that’s why there is Knock Off on final slot. However, I’m not sure about keeping this guy, because it doesn’t give anything special for this team, it’s more like filler. Maybe some sort of special sweeper?

So, anything to fix?

First of all, Venusaur needs more Hidden Power Psychic. This allows it to hit Weezing, the Nidos, and Toxicroak, who otherwise wall your set. HP Ice should only be used if you want to go with Scarf-Saur, which is a viable option, as this team lacks speed. Sludge Bomb is better than Sleep Talk, as you will never be using it, and Sludge Bomb is a useful STAB move that rounds out coverage on the set.

On Hitmontop, use Bullet Punch over Stone Edge, because every Flying-type that you would be hitting with Stone Edge is countered by your Sleep Talk Rotom. BP also hits Froslass, who can wreck this team if using Sub-Petaya or Life Orb.

Nidoqueen is a more useful lead on this team, because you don't have a good way of taking out the things that wall Kabutops, which Nidoqueen can with Earth Power and Ice Beam, and can also set up Rocks and Taunt.

For Drapion, if you are using it as a Swords Dancer, put Aqua Tail over Knock Off, because a sweeper doesn't really need support options, and Aqua Tail hits a lot of counters to Drapion, like Sandslash, really hard, and rounds out coverage on the set.

With your Rotom set, I'm not really feeling Rotom in this team. You don't need two sleep absorbers, so you might want to go with Trick-Scarf, which still keeps the immunities, but provides some nice speed and the ability to cripple a ton of walls.

Kabutops is the weakest link here. If you really want to use it, go with either a Rain Dance set (meh) or use the current Swords Dance set, without Aqua Jet, as you already have a great priority sweeper.

Hope I helped!

Thanks for comments :D

I'll try those new moves on Venusaur, you explained really well why I should use those new moves. I'll also change Hitmontop's Stone Edge to Bulled Punch, because, to be honest, I have never used it. Also I change Drapion's Knock Off to Aqua Tail.

I also try that Nidoqueen set, but 10 base speed drop bugs me (I don't wanna get taunted by other Nidoqueens). In my option, I don't need any new walls, that's why I have Number of resistanges and Rotom. But I'll try it.

Kabutops is not weak link! It has swept many times, so it works well. Boosted Aqua Jet ohkos LOT of stuff, I have no needs to have Waterfall. Also, Ninetales is easily countered by Aqua Jet.

I love that Rotom idea, but I need something to absorb status and something that can heal itself. Rest have been useful many times... But I'll try it anyway.

If you want to outspeed other Nidoqueen, take 4 EVs from SpA and put them into Spe.

If you really want a status absorber, you could drop either Drapion or Kabutops and put in a Guts Swellow. That way you could have monster attacking power on this team, and change Rotom to another version.
