My old OU team

Hey, I'll be posting my old OU team from a few months back. As of now, I'm working on another team, so, I thought I'll post this to see what people thought of it. It actually did extremely well on the ladder, and I considered this a good counter team, which is basically my style of play. When I began to craft this team, I attempted to create a team with few weaknesses as possible, and I think I did a good job because this team only has six weaknesses overall (Grass, Fighting, Fire, Electric, Psychic, Rock).

1. Swampert @ Leftovers (Relaxed Natured; 252 hp/ 252 defense/6 attack EVs)

Stealth Rock
Ice Beam
Earthquake
Roar

Obviously this lead is self-explanatory. Set up Stealth Rocks, Roar Ninjask or other types of set-up teams, and, or use Ice Beam/Earthquake for super-effective damage or if you're unsure of what's to come. Swampert usually stays with me until the end of the match thanks to Wish Blissey, which helps keep him healthy. He's great for scouting your opponent's moves and you're unsure of what's to come.

2. Spiritomb @ Leftovers (Bold Natured; 252 hp/ 252 defense/ 6 sp. atk EVs)

Calm Mind
Dark Pulse
Rest
Sleep Talk

Smogon's original Calm Mind/Rest set inspired me to create this set, and a few months later, it earned its spot on the Smogon's moveset list! This set is extremely efficient for a few apparent reasons. Spiritomb has no weaknesses, which allows it to set up a variety of pokemon. His Pressure ability allows him to be an efficient tank that depletes otherwise powerful attacks, such as Stone Edge, which I see frequently when I attempt to set up Spiritomb. He can also take status hits and rest them off, negate the effects of explosion, and in many occasions set up calm mind and sweep with dark pulse (did I mention tank special hits as well?), even on Pokemon that resist it. He's definitely the 'MVP' of this team! His only weakness is that he's more vulnerable on the physical side, and if your opponent is able to set up before you KO them, you might be in trouble.

Scizor @ Leftovers (and Technician) (Adamant Natured; 252 attack/252 speed/6 hp EVs)

Swords Dance
Bullet Punch
Bug Bite
Brick Break

When I first started out playing the OU ladder, Swords Dance Scizor was a monster to beat. However, lately, I haven't been able to set him up, and he sometimes goes out early. I think that maybe Pokemon such as Heatran, Starmie, Gyarados, Rotom, and Zapdos have possibly increased in usage because when I began using this team, Latias was still considered OU, and he was extremely helpful then. I maxed speed because most of the time, it allows you to outspeed most Celebis, Brelooms, and Swamperts and hit back with a boosted Bug Bite that can most often KO or at the very least 2HKO. He is unfortunately walled by Rotom and Zapdos most of the time. In addition to being able to set up and sweep a variety of Pokemon, Scizor is my answer against Tyranitar and Hail teams, which otherwise are difficult to handle.

Blissey @ Leftovers (Calm Natured; 252 defense/252 sp. defense/ 6 Hp)

Wish
Protect
Seismic Toss
Thunder Wave

This set is the reason I wish I had Emerald so I can get Seismic Toss on Blissey. Blissey can block a variety of Pokemon which would otherwise sweep my team and many other teams such as Starmie, Yanmega, and Heatran. This Blissey was actually created to counter Latias and Heatran, and it did extremely well, so, I decided to keep it. In addition to blocking special sweepers from a lot of damage to my pokemon, Blissey forces many switches, which on most occasions are met with a Thunder Wave. This is incredibly helpful later on when I attempt to set up my sweepers. She can also provide much needed 'Wish support' which is incredibly helpful. Blissey forms a nice combo with Weezing (Physical counterpart) and Spiritomb (which can also be used to soak up Special hits).

Weezing @ Leftovers/Black Sludge (Bold Natured; 252 hp/ 252 defense/ 6 Sp. Atk)

Pain Spilt
Will-o-Wisp
Fire Blast
Thunderbolt

This is the standard smogon moveset for a Weezing, and it does really well against physical hits. I wanted Weezing because I felt like I didn't have a sturdy physical wall. I've experimented with other movesets that included Curse and Payback, but Weezing isn't there for the long-run; He's only there to soak up physical hits and make them less dangerous. The Weezing/Blissey combo does amazing well, and Weezing almost always makes Lucario a non-factor if an opponent has one. Unfortunately, Weezing's only problem is that Pain Spilt is really unreliable.

Gyarados @ Leftovers (Adamant Natured; 252 attack/252 speed/6 hp)

Dragon Dance
Taunt
Earthquake
Waterfall

This set is almost identical to the 'Bulky Gyarados' set, but, it isn't quite that. Even with no EVs invested in defense, hp, or special defense, Gyarados does extremely well to set up on a variety of Pokemon and take hits against pokemon such as Scizor. He is my answer for stall teams, which almost always include Hippowdon and Skarmony. Basically, come in on a Pokemon that you can set up on, and try to set up as many Dragon Dances as possible. I chose Earthquake over Stone Edge because of the accuracy boost, and because I can often KO Starmie and other 'Bulky Waters' after two Dragon Dances. This set's downfall is that it really should be used in the late game, so if you haven't set up enough times, you might get walled by a 'most-defensive' Rotom or Zapdos, whose job will be to stop you. So, I mostly wait until enough Stealth Rock damage has been made, and my opponent's Pokemon have been weakened sufficiently. Ludicolo and Pokemon such as Salamence (and now Dragonite) wall this set if you haven't set up enough times, but, most of the time, I can easily come up on top. Taunt is also extremely useful, and there is a nice combination between Scizor and Gyarados.

Now for the threat list:

Azelf: Spiritomb or Blissey can wall it and Spiritomb can KO with Dark Pulse.
Breloom: Spiritomb can take unboosted Seed Bombs/Stone Edges, block off Focus Punch. Weezing can Fire Blast it if it Spored another pokemon, Gyarados can Taunt and set up if it doesn't have Stone Edge and if it's not asleep, and Scizor can 2HKO with Bug Bite if it is not asleep.

Celebi: Usually Scizor takes care of it.

Dugtrio: I rarely saw this in battle, but, Swampert, Gyarados or Scizor can care of it. Blissey is in a disadvantage, but, sometimes it is able to beat it if it predicts it and Seismic Tosses it on the switch.

Electivire: Gyarados if it has set up or Swampert with Earthquake.

Empoleon: Gyarados can taunt, set up and KO with Earthquake. Swampert can KO if it doesn't have Grass Knot.

Flygon: Swords Dance Scizor can take it out in one hit if it has set up at least once. Swampert can KO it with Ice Beam.

Gengar: Blissey can nullify its speed advantage with Thunder-Wave, and Scizor can take it out easily. There's also Spiritomb and Gyarados if it has set up.

Gliscor: Ice Beam Swampert does extremely well here and even Spiritomb if it doesn't carry Taunt.

Gyarados: Swampert usually Roars it away before it can set up, and over time with Stealth Rock damage, it can be taken care of. Weezing can Will-o-Wisp and KO with Thunderbolt.

Heatran: Blissey can weaken with Thunder-Wave/Seismic Toss and possibly KO. Obviously scout for Explosion
Heracross: Spiritomb or Gyarados.
Infernape: Gyarados can set up on it, Spiritomb can counter it, since most of the common sets only involve Close Combat as a Physical move.

Jirachi: Swampert, Gyarados, Blissey for the Special set, and I sometimes uses Spiritomb against the Flinching set.

Kingdra: Can be nullified by Gyarado's Taunt and be used as set-up fodder. Swampert can take hits and roar it away.

Lucario: Weezing can KO with Fire Blast and Will-o-Wisp. Gyarados and Swampert can use Earthquake

Machamp: A tough one because of Dynamic Punch, but a Spiritomb/Weezing combo can make it not as big of a threat, because

Magnezone: Gyarados or Swampert.

Mamoswine: Scizor, Weezing, or Gyarados.

Metagross: Swampert and Gyarados. Possibly Scizor with Bug Bite.

Ninjask: Roar Swampert or Bullet Punch Scizor.

Porygon-Z: Blissey or Spiritomb.

Rhyperior: Gyarados, Spiritomb, and Swampert.

Roserade: Set-up for Gyarados, Scizor can KO if it doesn't have HP fire. Blissey can wall.

Rotom-A: This is extremely difficult to counter, but my best counter is Spiritomb.

Scizor: Weezing and Gyarados if it can set up.

Snorlax: Gyarados can set up on it, Scizor can set up and Brick Break.

Starmie: Blissey can Thunder-Wave and beat with Seismic Toss.

Suicune: Use Spiritomb, roar it away, or set-up on it using Gyarados if it doesn't have Hp Electric.

Togekiss: Blissey can ruin it with Thunder-Wave on most sets.

Tyranitar: Choice Scarf is walled by Swampert, Spiritomb, Weezing, and Scizor. Scizor for almost any other set, and sometimes Gyarados can KO.

Weavile: Scizor can KO with Bullet Punch.

Yanmega: Scizor can KO with bullet punch, Blissey can wall it.

Zapdos: Swampert can Ice Beam, Blissey can Thunder-Wave and take it down, Spiritomb can set up on it.

I'm not really sure how to rate as I don't know the full extent of walling capabilities that weezing and spiritomb have but it seems like you have a good team.

The one thing I'd do would be to place toxic on blissey to help stall out threats with protect and your sweepers don't need the speed reduction so much.

Also, two walls so that one blocks physical attacks and the other blocks special attacks.

I dont see the point in two walls, (Weezing, Blissey)

Try metagross as an attacker.

lol most teams will carry two+ Blissey wont be walling everything obviously so you need a pysical wall, like weezing...now granted i think that there are better choices than weezing but still you can leave your two walls...now for the rest of your team...

As far as resistances go its really solid your very balanced. I can see machamp with payback and stone edge being a pain for you, and if he is i recomend your gyarados to try this out-

impish @leftovers
248 HP\248 Def\12 Atk
Waterfall
Rest
Sleep Talk
Roar\Dragon Dance

this set works soo good i never trusted him as a defensive pokemon but intimidate is so good and it will help out with the fighting weakness. but overall it looks really nice.

When you talked about dealing with gengar you said that blissey usually will T wave it. Almost all gengars run subsitite now (granted you said this was older) And also will carry pain split, beating blissey. If a good gengar player brings him in late, its likely spiritomb would be gone leaving you open for a tough sweep if he gets up a sub. Gengar can do 85% to you with focus blast on scizor as well, whereas with leftovers you do 62% with a BP, and usually that will just break his sub. Which brings me to my next suggestion. Either change scizor to a CB set which will let you trap said gengar and many other things with pursuit, or add a lifeorb to Scizor, which will bring your damage up to 80-94% guarenteed OHKO after a sub+ gengars LO

The only other thing that sort of makes me scratch my head is t wave on blissey. With gyarados being DD, and scizor having bullet punch its not overly usful except on heatran. If heatran is a big problem for you, which i could potentially see, by all means leave it as this is a nitpick. but i would personally use aromatherapy or toxic.

Overall good team!

I'm not really sure about this but you could add Gliscor instead of Weezing since it has Roost which is more reliable and would still only have an ice weakness instead of a psychic weakness. The downside is that you don't get any fire or electric moves on your team. Your choice.
