I'm looking for some advice and any improvements that may seem apparent for this team.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Gengar @ Wide Lens
Timid - Levitate
- Hypnosis
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast
- Energy Ball
EVs: 252 SpAtk / 252 Spe / 4 HP
Gengar is my lead on this team. He has Hypnosis to induce the Sleep status on opposing foes, with Shadow Ball for STAB. With it's Levitate abilty, it also has the potential to come in on any Ground moves. Focus Blast adds to my coverage, while Energy Ball is there for the bulky Waters, Swampert anyone?
Garchomp @ Choice Scarf
Adamant - Sand Veil
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Crunch
- Fire Fang
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 HP
Garchomp just works wonders on this team. Earthquake is there for STAB and Outrage as a stronger alternative to Dragon Claw, also gaining STAB. Fire Fang is there for any troublesome Steels that get in the way, with added Crunch for Psychic's, namely Azelf and Cress, and opposing Gengar's.
Infernape @ Life Orb
Naive - Blaze
- Flamethrower
- Close Combat
- Thunderpunch
- HP Ice
EVs: 116 Atk / 236 Spe / 156 SpAtk
I needed a Mixed Sweeper for this team, and when noticing that I was lacking a good electric and fire move on this team. Infernape immediately sprung to mind. Thunderpunch and hP Ice provide great coverage as many of you would know. Together, the whole moveset allows to score neutral damage on every Pokemon in the game. But Thunderpunch was there for another reason, Gyarados. Sure, Infernape may not be a counter, but you would be surprised of how many Gyara's switched in on Nape to take the odd Close Combat. And of course, by the time I switch out, well, that's when it DD's and goes for the kill. So providing there is no Wacan berry, bye bye to this problem.
Bronzong @ Leftovers
Relaxed - Levitate
- Explosion
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Gyro Ball
EVs: 252 HP / 116 Def / 64 Atk / 76 SpDef
My mixed Wall. Much like Gengar, Levitate helps it come in when needed when against EQ weilders, namely. With the increase of speed in the OU metagame, Gyro Ball often works like a charm. Earthquake is put in for coverage, along with Explosion which lets Zong go out with a bang. Stealth Rock is there for obvious reasons, in setting up an entry hazard.
Swampert @ Leftovers
Relaxed - Torrent
- Hydro Pump
- Earthquake
- Ice Beam
- Roar
EVs: 240 HP / 216 Def / 52 SpAtk
Looking at the vast amound of Physical moves already on my team, this time around, I decided to go with MixPert. With Earthquake for STAB, and Hydro Pump as a stronger alternative to Waterfall. Ice Beam was added due to a lack of Ice type moves, and for the vast number of Garchomps that keep trying to KO me. Roar is there as no other member of my team was suited for a phazing move, and I really did need one.
Blissey @ Leftovers
Bold - Natural Cure
- Aromatherapy
- Seismic Toss
- T-Wave
- Softboiled
EVs: 224 HP / 252 Def / 32 SpDef
So here we are, my final Pokemon. With its terrible Defence stat, Blissey was given the Bold nature to help it stand against surprise Physical Attacks, often turning them down from a OHKO to a 2HKO. Blissey plays the role of my Special Wall and Team Cleric, with it's moveset home to Aromatherapy. Seismic Toss was given as, IMO, it is the best option for attacking on a Blissey. T-Wave was also given for its crippling purposes, and slowing down any threats.
So that's my team.
Just for reference, the team is played with the following rules in effect:
- Sleep Clause
- OHKO Clause
- Species Clause
- Evasion Clause
Help would be greatly appreciated, especially with the effort put into this RMT.
Thanks in advance, Willz.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
