Team Overview:

I built this team based upon the all-popular Tyranitar/Excadrill Sand Rush core, with balanced coverage covering most threats in the OU tier. In short, Tyranitar sets up sandstorm for Excadrill, which allows Excadrill to sweep mid-late game. The rest of the mons on this team back up the common weaknesses and threats between Excadrill and Tyranitar, notably Water, Ground, and Fighting types. Well, that's about it for the start, let's get into the details!

Darude (Tyranitar) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Crunch
- Ice Beam
- Earthquake

Tyranitar serves a number of vital purposes on this team. First off, and most obviously, it serves as a turning point by setting up sandstorm, which allows Excadrill to finish late in the game. Not only this, it also sets up my rocks and provides decent coverage overall against the threats it checks and more, considering mons such as Mega-Char-X, Talonflame, Lati@s, Dragonite, etc. Overall, Tyranitar proves to be a wonderful asset and it's crucial he stays alive later in the game to restart sandstorm for Excadrill.

SubTerror (Excadrill) @ Life Orb
Ability: Sand Rush
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Rapid Spin
- Rock Slide

Well, here he is. The Pokemon I often consider my win condition, Excadrill. This bad boy acts as a sweeper, rapid spinner, and revenge killer all wrapped up into one little mole rat sushi roll. And with Sand Rush, he outspeeds nearly all if not all the competition, which leads the way for an EQ/Iron Head/Rock Slide rampage. In the end, I believe Excadrill is pretty self-explanatory, because we are all aware of how much of a powerhouse he is.

LegalInColorado (Amoonguss) @ Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Spore
- Giga Drain
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Stun Spore

Amoonguss. Although some might question my putting him on this team, he serves an amazing role as a pivot and stops a plethora major threats in their tracks, along witj his very helpful resistance to Fighting and Water types, which T-tar/Excadrill greatly appreciate. Spore is used to, again, put down a major threat or issue to the core of my team. Giga Drain allows for Grass STAB, and for facing up against bulky water types such as Quagsire, and also allows for some health take-back, which pairs nicely with Regenerator and Black Sludge. I use HP Fire for switch ins like Scizor and other Grass types that are immune to Spore. Stun Spore is for spreading status even further, which really helps to stop fast offensive threats and puts them in range for Gardevoir. Thus, the presence of status and great walling capability categorizes Amoonguss as a very useful asset to the rest of the team.

Thirsty? (Rotom-Wash) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 216 Def / 44 Spe
Bold Nature
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split

Ah, the standard, and yet all-versatile Defensive Rotom-Wash. Right off the bat, he's already got that vital Water and Ground resistance and/or immunity that proves well for this core, checking threats such as Landorus, Gliscor, and Azumarill. Although most of us know how the standard Rotom-W operates, let's do a quick review. Volt Switch allows for momentum and good switch ins. Hydro Pump is the universal Water STAB, and Will-O-Wisp is to cripple physically powerful sweepers and dedicated walls. And last but not least, Pain Split is for decent recovery. Simply put, Rotom-W serves as another great pivot and works well with Amoonguss, and all in all serves excellently for my core.

Peregrine (Talonflame) @ Sky Plate
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Brave Bird
- Flare Blitz
- U-turn
- Roost

Yet another offensive threat on this team, Talonflame. However, I am not exactly overly confident about his place on this team, which now leads me to consider something like an Assault Vest Azumarill. Nonetheless, I will still explain the role he has filled on this team. As a great revenge killer and potential sweeper, Talonflame bullies some of the checks, namely Fighting types, to T-tar/Excadrill. With U-Turn and Sky Plate boosted Brave Bird, his moveset allows for a quick revenge kill and escape by U-turn into something like Amoonguss. In the end, although his role might be questioned, he has helped me in many situations against other teams as a great physical powerhouse.

Top B*tch (Gardevoir) @ Gardevoirite
Ability: Trace
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Psyshock
- Focus Blast
- Taunt

Last, and definitely not least, Gardevoir-Mega. This bad girl packs amazing Special Attacking power, something this team positively needs coming towards the end, along with a Mega-Evolution in general. Not only does she completely wall most Fighting types in the tier, she has fantastic coverage, starting off with Hyper Voice. Paired with Pixilate, this serves as the move of choice when simply, for lack of a better phrase, f***ing everything up. Psyshock serves as a second STAB attack, hitting Poison types like Amoonguss well but also for dealing with mons that have a high Special Defense stat. Focus Blast hits a variety of steel types, more specifically Heatran, along with wiping out guys like opposing Tyranitar and Bisharp, if you've got the cajones to stay in against one. Lastly, Taunt allows for efficient wallbreaking against mons such as Chansey, a role Gardevoir fills well. However, I am not too positive upon the use of Taunt, and suggestions as to what I could replace it with would be appreciated.

Welp, that's about it. This team definitely has to be one of my favorites, and has gotten me very far in winning tours and moving up the ladder. Again, any and all advice is appreciated. I love input from others as it gives me an insight into battling with this team in general and will often improve my experience and what I like to call "PokéWisdom." Thanks for checking out my RMT thread! Please rate!

For talonflame, try choice band instead of sky plate. It brings talonflames attack to pretty high levels and is more useful. Instead of Taunt on Mega Garde, use wish to restore your sweepers hp, and maintain gardevoirs health.
