My Ou Team (non weather)

Hi All.

This is my OU team. I play on Wifi alot and that is how i ended up this team. My original team was Scyther, Umbreon, Jolteon, Floatzel, Alakazam and Infernape back on Diamond and Pearl. That team was a huge fail but hey, we all had to start somewhere. Eventually i changed my team to suit the meta abit more. Aerodactyl, Scizor, Jolteon, Vaporeon, Umbreon and Infernape. As you can see that team also hugely failed.
I gave up playing for sometime until Black and White came out. I then build a new team and started playing on wifi with these , Metagross, Dragonite, Scizor, Latios, Gyarados and Darmanitan.
Finally i started winning quite a few games. Not as many as i was still losing. I'd have a winning streak of 2 or 3 and a losing streak of 4 or 5 in row. So i got my thinking cap on a made a brand new team. This team now works for me. I now only lose 1 in 10 games.

The team your about to see can be torn apart and changed in whatever way you want to make my team better. Any advise is always welcome.
Without further ado, here is my team.

Terrakion - Focus Sash
Nature - Jolly
EV-s - 252 Atk - 252 Spe - 4 Hp
Ability - Justified

Moves:
Swords Dance
Earthquake
Close Combat
Stone Edge

My Lead. And a fantastic lead at that. No one sees the Focus Sash coming so im guaranted a Swords Dance. I know what most people say about this this should have a Air Balloon on it but that only protects it from ground attacks. Focus Sash protects it from every attack. Plus the way i see it Close Combat weakens its defences anyway so its not going to survive an attack anyway, so thats why i use Sash over Air Balloon.
Close Combat and Stone Edge are there for STAB coverage. Swords Dance for an attacking boost and Earthquake for taking out anything that CC and SE cant.

Virizion - Leftovers
Nature - Timid
EV-s - 252 SpAtk - 252 Spe - 4 Hp
Ability - Justified

Moves:
Hidden Power Ice
Giga Drain
Focus Blast
Calm Mind

I fell in love with this set the first time i saw it. I fell even more in love with this set the first time i used it. The coverage this thing has is amazing. Nature and Evs are to make sure i hit fast and hard.
Calm Mind makes my sweeps easier. Giga Drain and Leftovers for recovery and Focus Miss and HP Ice for coverage.

Seeing as how i pretty much build my team around these two, i needed some pokes to counter their weaknesses.

Heatran - Air Balloon
Nature - Calm
EV's - 252 HP - 252 SpDef - 4 Def
Ability - Flash Fire

Moves:
Toxic
Lava Plume
Earth Power
Protect

Heatran solves the Fire weakness i had on Virizion. Also Heatran solves my Ground weakness on Terrakion because of Air Balloon. Toxic allows me to spread the love and Protect to rack up the damage. Earth Power is for Coverage and Lava Plume for STAB and chance to burn.
I tryed a couple different sets for Heatran and SpDefensive set is the best in my opinion. Being able to wall abit longer and spread status is much better than trying to use him as a sweeper.

jellicent.png

Jellicent - Leftovers
Nature - Bold
EV's - 212 HP - 252 Def - 44 SpDef
Ability - Water Absorb

Moves
Scald
Ice Beam
Recover
Taunt

When i added Heatran to my team to solve my Fire weakness, i realised that id only gone and created another couple of weaknesses. I now have another poke weak to Fighting and now one weak to Water. Thats where Jellicent comes in. With it Typing and Ability, that solves that problem.
Now onto the Moves. Scald for burnage. Ice Beam for Coverage. Recover and Leftovers are so He last longer in battle. Will o Wisp to spread the status to Physical attackers.
I chose Bold as its nature beacuse i felt i needed a more Physical Wall.

Scizor_art_by_Pokemon_Diamond.png

Scizor - Choice Band
Nature - Adamant
EV's - 240 HP - 252 Atk - 16 Spe
Ability - Technician

Moves:
Bullet Punch
Super Power
Pursuit
U-Turn

This is beleive it or not the exact same Scizor i use back in Diamond and Pearl. As soon as i finished training him i knew he would never leave my team. This is pretty much the standard Scizor set. Bullet Punch for CB, technician and STAB. Superpower to take care of other Steels. Pursuit for any Psychics that piss me off. Mainly the Lati Twins. And U-Turn for scouting. This is also another reason why Heatran is on my team.

Latios-dragon-type-6718821-150-174.gif

Latios - Choice Specs
Nature - Timid
EV's - 252 SpAtk - 252 Spe - 4 Hp
Ability - Levitate

Moves:
Draco Meteor
Surf
Thunderbolt
Ice Beam

Now for my Special sweeper. Evs, Nature and item are to make sure i get the fall potential out of Latios's amazing attack and speed stats.
Draco Meteor is there for one of the strongest attacks this team can deliver. Surf, Thunderbolt and Ice Beam are for coverage. I have toyed about with the final three move slots and those 3 seem to be the better option to me. Ive tried Pyschic and Shadow Ball but they dont seem to have the same coverage as BoltBeam and Surf. This is also anther reason why Heatran is on my team having a 4x resistance to ice.

Anyway thats my team.
Terrakion - Physical attacker/Sweeper
Virizion - Special Wall / Special Sweeper
Heatran - Statuser / Special Wall
Jellicent - Statuser / Physical Wall
Scizor - Physical Sweeper
Latios - Special Sweeper

I think ive got everything covered. I also think ive got most of the weakness's covered.

That all from me folks, i look forward to hearing to here your comments.
Thanks.

Good FWG defensive core going on there, but I have to question your Terrakion lead. I'm not sure if Machamp leads exist anymore, but something like the Standard Machamp lead of D/P would crush him. Terrakion is fast, but not fast enough. SE + Priority will drop him. He just isn't that effective as a lead, and falls especially hard to Trickers.

Maybe consider something that can set up entry hazards instead, because Scizor and Latios would appreciate the help. Maybe Ferrothorn with the standard support set.

On that note, you could swap out Virizion fit in Terrakion there instead of in the lead spot. Terrakion doesn't need Earthquake, so drop it and add Rock Polish for an invincible 'mon once priority users have been killed. Change that nature to Adamant and give him an Air Balloon to hold on to.

Heatran adds alot of weaknesses to your team. Conkledurr can switch in on 3 of your pokemon and threaten them immediately, bulk up and threaten 5. Guts Conkledurr is going to tear your team apart.

To remedy this I suggest switching HEATRAN for GLISCOR hurr durr.

I usually run a 188HP/252Def/dump rest into Spe for Spe ties w/
Protect
Swords Dance
Earthquake
Ice Fang

If you do this I'd say Jellicent should run a bulky water set. You can max out HP and get both Def and SpDef stats around to 260-280. ALSO on Jellicent you shouldn't run Scald AND WoW. Run one or the other. If you choose Scald...
Scald
Recover
Toxic
Taunt/Ice Beam
If you choose WoW
WoW
Recover
Surf/Ice Beam
Taunt/Ice Beam

Ice Moves a problem? Donphan/Mamoswine is probably the most relevant Ice Shard user...Jellicent owns Donphan and Mamoswine after a burn.

Those are my suggestions.

If you want a hardcore non-weather team you need a Quagsire or Gastrodon.

^ You mean Heatran out for Gliscor.

Gliscor with Taunt, Roost, Toxic and Earthquake would do better to replace Heatran.

Yeah. Sorry XD

I personally run the SD Gliscor because i think it handles pokemon with previous boosts better.

Why do you like that Glis set better? Looks to me like it gets pooped on by other Gliscors.

One thing to concider is taunt on Jellicent. Taunting not only prevents others from taunting, but also can help you win a stall war against for example, a blissey. Taunt could also force some switches, allowing you to gain some momentum.

Thanks for the Rate guys. Ive been using more of a Sandstorm team recently anyway (which i might post soon).

Anyways ive updated the team slightly.

Hey there.

First off, change Jellicent's EV spread to 212 HP / 144 Def / 104 Speed. The investment allows you to outspeed many walls and Taunt them before they get a chance to status you / set up; 104 Speed EVs exactly allows you to outspeed Standard Skarmory and Taunt it before it gets to set up Spikes. This is very important seeing as you do not have a Rapid spinner. Also, run Will-O-Wisp over Ice Beam. This will let you cripple physical attackers such as Scizor and Dragonite and basically render them useless.

Run Leftovers over Air Balloon on Heatran, as walls really need a recovery of some sort, and Leftovers + Protect can patch up Heatran's lack up recovery. Also, run Stealth Rock over Earth Power. Every team should have entry hazards, so SR is a must; Earth Power is usually not that useful on specially defensive Heatran regardless.

Now, one thing that can basically destroy your entire team is Excadrill. Nothing on your team can take a hit from it, especially not after a Swords Dance. Also, Jellicent really isn't meant to be the only physical wall on a team, and for that reason, I suggest that you replace Latios, who is the most replaceable member of your team, with a Gliscor.

Swords Dance Gliscor
Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
Nature - Impish
EV's - 252 HP / 184 Def / 72 Speed
Ability - Poison Heal
-Earthquake
-Swords Dance
-Ice Fang
-Taunt

Gliscor is the best Excadrill counter in the game, and can support Jellicent physically pretty well. SD Gliscor is also a fearsome sweeper late game, and can be a menace against stall teams. Taunt stops pokemon such as Skarmory from hindering your sweep, and also stops pokemon like Forretress from setting up entry hazards on you. Gliscor can also stop threats such as Double Dance Terrakion, and can hit Dragonite hard with Ice Fang.

Finally, run Rock Gem on Terrakion over Focus Sash. Leads aren't really necessary in 5th gen due to team preview, and running Focus Sash late game just won't work because of your lack of a Rapid Spinner. It's also not a good idea (usually) to setup 1st turn, as that just makes you prone to revenge killing. Rock Gem is a very interesting item that allows Terrakion to OHKO Gliscor with a +2 Stone Edge, making it very deadly when used correctly. Also, run Rock Polish over Earthquake. Rock Polish allows Terrakion to have the option to either boost it's speed or it's attack depending on the situation, and can be very useful. Earthquake only hits Jirachi harder than Close Combat regardless.

Hope I helped, and good luck!

Another Latios team for me to rate Yay! It covers every threat (almost). Heatran and Terrakion in a team doesn't really help your team at all since the high percent of people using fighting types your team will easily go down without Heatran Support. Maybe Rotom-H instead of Heatran?
