My OU Team

Hey new to this competitive thing... This team I play with on Wi-Fi Battles and they don't win every battle but they do very well. Here is my team in X/Y. This team is a team that I made using what I know about battles and try to get a Pokemon to every role.
609.gif

Chandelure
252 SpA/ 252 Spe/ 4 HP
Nature: Timid
Ability: Infiltrator
Item: Salac Berry
Moveset:
Pain Split
Energy Ball
Flamethrower
Shadow Ball
Info: Personally one of my favorites on my team. He is designed to be a special sweeper. Energy Ball to cover his weaknesses (Like when people use Tyranitar). Flamethrower Because STAB. Same goes with Shadow Ball. His ability how I think it goes is it should stop Pokemon going behind subs and trying to set up. Also Pain Split is kinda a recovery move for Chandelure incase he takes too much hits and needs healing.

Drifblim.gif

Drifblim

240 HP/ 136 Def/ 132 SpD
Nature: Bold
Ability: AfterMath
Item: Leftovers
Moveset:
Calm Mind
Stockpile
Baton Pass
Ominous Wind
Info: Originally Espeon took this place as it would set up with Calm Mind then proceed to baton pass to Chandelure. I gave this task too Drifblim because of his HP and the fact that he can learn Stockpile which would help the baton passed Pokemon in the long run. Although I am still thinking if I should use Espeon because of its excellent ability Magic Bounce.

Forretress_BW.gif

Forretress
252 HP/ 252 SpD/ 4 Atk
Nature: Careful
Ability: Sturdy
Item: Custap Berry
Moveset:
Rapid Spin
Spikes
Stealth Rock
Toxic Spikes
Info: I needed a Pokemon that could bring in entry hazards I thought to myself and I found Forretress. His goal by its moveset is to lay a ton of hazards. In the event that I get hazards around me I have Rapid Spin to protect me and remove the entry hazards. I'm questioning if I should take out stealth rocks or spikes and replace it with something like earthquake or something else that can benefit his team. I would most likely take out spikes just because stealth rocks can exploit weaknesses while spikes cannot. On top of that stealth rocks can hit Pokemon with Levitate or a flying type Pokemon. Its all a thought though

Milotic_BW.gif

Milotic
252 HP/ 136 Def/ 56 SpA/ 66 SpD
Nature: Bold
Ability: Marvel Scale
Item: Leftovers
Moveset:
Surf
Recover
Ice beam
Mirror Coat
Info: Originally Jellicent but it was taken off the team because I would have 3 people weak to Pokemon like Dark and Ghost and that would be a big problem. Milotic is just to wall and act as a bulky water type. Why Milotic you may ask? Well its ability to learn Mirror Coat and Recover. Cresselia can learn Moon Light but Milotic can learn Mirror Coat which can help me if I come across a Pokemon like Jolteon getting ready to try and take out Milotic. Milotic will just send the damage right back to the sender.

Whimsicott_BW.gif

Whimsicott
252 HP/ 126 Def/ 126 SpD/ 6 Spe
Nature: Bold
Ability: Prankster
Item: Leftovers (Im sure having 3 Pokemon with leftovers is a problem.. If it is please let me know D:)
Moveset:
Stun Spore
Moonblast
Encore
Leech Seed
Info: This Pokemon I actually need help with. I want it to be a support Pokemon that will help me set up if Drifblim and Forretress cannot do it. The move set I feel is bad because I feel like it only has 2 support moves that can only help my team a little bit. My Idea was to use Moonblast as its main STAB move to defend it. Use encore to give me time to set up. Use Leech Seed give it a chance to survive. And Stun Spore to also buy me time to set up. Although it sounds good in my head to others it may sound like trash. Please give suggestions for Whimsicott cause it is one of my favorite Pokemon.

Togekiss
252 SpA/ 132 HP/ 126 Spe
Nature: Bold
Ability: Serene Grace
Item: Sky Plate
Moveset:
Aura Sphere
Air Slash
Nasty Plot
Dazzling Gleam
Info: Another Pokemon that can go all out. I gave it Nasty Plot and a few EV's in HP so it could set up on its own. Lets say Chandelure failed to attack then I have Togekiss to help. Aura Sphere to take out Normal types in a snap. Air Slash for that 60% flinch. Nasty Plot to set up. And Dazzling Gleam just for a extra stab move (Although I'm thinking about adding thunder wave here)

Thanks for taking the time to read. I really wanna get into competitive Pokemon but I'm not sure if this is the right team to do it. Please do leave suggestions as I will accept them and take them into consideration for my team. Thanks again :D

I'm tired and don't have time for a full rate, so I'll just focus on a few things. First being Forretress. Those EVs are a bit rediculous; don't try to patch up weak spots, make good ones better. Maximize his usefulness by puttinng those into defense. Also, Forretress will never survive long enough to rack up that many entry hazards. Stealth rock is the most important one, so keep that. Replace spikes with Gyro Ball. Give him a relaxed nature and 0 Spd IVs to maximize its power. I would recommend replacing toxic spikes with volt switch to serve as a pivot, but that one could go either way. Also, Milotic; Milotic is a wall, not an offensive powerhouse. Replace surf with scald. Only 10 BP difference, and 30% to burn is infinitely more useful.

In showdown multiple items isn't an issue as there is no item clause in most cases but it may help to diversify items sometimes such as Milotic with Rocky Helmet. Rosenfeldius pretty much covered Forretress and Milotic so you can fix that. On your Whimsicott splitting the defenses in that way isn't usually ideal. It's better to either go full hp and one defense either being special or physical, with the remainder in speed. The moveset you have on Whimsicott can work but other options include subseed where substitute would be in place of where stun spore is. Encore a status move, set up a substitute and leech seeds, stall the opponent for as long as possible. Also encore+taunt to force a struggle is another set you can try, with taunt helping to deal with leads such as hazard setters as well. Another thing I would like to point out is that your team outside of Forretress gets walled by common special walls such as Blissey and Sylveon. I would consider adding some more physical offensive presence in your team to deal with special walls more easily. If you're running that set on Togekiss you may want to use Thunderwave on Togekiss over dazzling gleam. Togekiss generally needs the paralysis support to paraflinch as well as sweep after the nasty plot boost. Those were some of the bigger things I noticed since some of the other stuff is more on preference depending on playstyle.

Also would like to apologize to all in advance if my formatting is a bit crude. Just started on the forums recently and still getting accustomed to them as well as the general guidelines/formatting.

I believe it is important to point out that the gentleman who started the thread mentioned that he used to use this team in Wi-Fi battles, thus couldn't change his EV's, nature, and such. With this being said, I will be lax on such things. I am assuming that you are going to move that Wi-Fi team to Pokemon showdown. So, to answer one question, no. You CAN have multiples of one item on a team (unlike the Wi-Fi battles). You also have an unlimited number of items, so such items as sky plate on Togekiss can be replaced with something much better. Same with your move choices. Outside of the banned moves, you can choose any move that a Pokemon can possibly learn. Basically, the difference between your typical in-game Wi-Fi battle and the Pokemon Showdown is huge. You are going to want to learn the ins and outs of this vastly different landscape. Trying to port the Pokemon you use in your games straight to the online landscape can be a little disheartening. You'll learn that your all-powerful team in-game just can't keep up with the fine tuned, well studied teams that litter the online landscape. This is the first thing that needs to be realized. If so, your team will succeed just as it did in the Wi-Fi realm. Now, on to more specific team-related advice

Your team overall I would describe as unique. It has a lot of interesting pieces, but it lacks that one key factor that I call cohesiveness. I feel like this team is just a bunch of your favorite Pokemon or Pokemon you have read online to be good thrown together on a team with little direction or thought of strategy with it. While this comment may seam harsh, please just bare with me. Drifblim is set up like a wall even though it's defenses are just atrocious. Consider either rethinking how you should use drifblim or just go ahead with espeon. For Togekiss, consider giving it roost along with leftovers to cover its lackluster HP and Defense. Thunder wave isn't a bad idea, especially with Togekiss' low speed. Now, let's look at three of your Pokemon together: Milotic, Whismicot, and Forretress. These make up two walls and two supports. In my Opinion, I believe you should keep 2 out of these three, and switching the odd one out for a physical sweeper for a change of pace. Just my suggestion, it is ultimately your choice. The only suggestion I have for chandelure is to switch flamethrower with fire blast. I use chandelure on my team, and your move set and mine are nearly identical except for that. It's a risk/reward move though. But fire blast on chandelure is just outright powerfull.

Well, that's my two cents. Add up what the other two were suggesting, you get a total of 6 cents. Remember, it's your team and your choice. Weigh out what we said and make your decision from their. Good Luck!

Thanks guys for your suggestions. I will try to get my team to work in sync. None of your comments where harsh so don't worry about that. I love the suggestions given and they all made sense. I could switch out whimsicott maybe for a physical attacker and I will have to fix drifblim. Thanks guys you are the best. I'll give my new team in a few days. Thanks again!

If you have to change any pokemon, I would suggest changing Drifblim. Whimsicott when set up well can be a huge plus to any team. I would change Stun Spore taunt, one of the best moves for stopping setup sweepers, spikers, and other support pokemon dead in their tracks. And yes, I would put the EVs into one defense stat specifically, if able. If not, don't worry too much.

As far as offensive presence goes, for you I'd recommend Mega Medicham, one of the best wallbreakers in the game, and your team needs psychic + fighting coverage as well as a large physically offensive presence.

Mega Medicham does make sense... But what about Aegislash? He is a Steel/Ghost that can do a lot of damage and be a physical attack as well. Hmm Ill try your suggestion and use Medicham... Have a suggestion for the moveset/EV spread?

Medicham @ Medichamite
Jolly Nature
4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
-High Jump Kick
-Psycho Cut/Zen Headbutt
-Thunder Punch
-Drain Punch/Fake Out

You already have a powerful ghost type in Chandelure, and you need better coverage, so I would recommend a no-go on Aegislash. Medicham destroys Tyranitar, Conkeldurr, Heatran, Mega Venusaur, and many, many others with his obscene attack and powerful STABs. I recommend thunder punch specifically for your team, as you have no solid way of dealing with Gyarados, and your other members already have fire and ice type moves. Drain Punch if you want a powerful move that can greatly increase his longevity in many situations, but Fake Out can help deal with Focus Sashers.

Thanks I'll try the suggestion and see how it plays out. Never was really 100% sure with the mega evolution's but this one sounds good.
Ill try it thanks!
