My Pokemon is FIGHTS!

I love those random quotes in the Wi-Fi Battle Tower.

Anyways, this team has been doing acceptionally well on Shoddy and I'd like some feedback, because I know there are some flaws but I don't know where and how to fix them without ruining the synergy of the team. So, here they are:

dpmfa248.png

Tyranitar (♂) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 60 Atk / 176 Def / 20 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Crunch
- Taunt
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge

I've been leading with this sturdy T-Tar set on Shoddy and it's been working significantly well. He catches many people off guard with Taunt when they try setting up first. If they decide to stay in, I slam them with the harder hitting moves Crunch, Earthquake or Stone Edge; or switch out and proceed to set up, myself.

252 HP allows T-Tar to absorb hits from both ends of the spectrum fairly well. 60 attack EVs and a positive nature gives him a solid 350 attack and 176 defense EVs for a good 300 defense. The remaining EVs went into special defense.

Gliscor (♂) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Veil
EVs: 252 HP / 180 Def / 76 Spd
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Aerial Ace
- Roost
- Taunt

He counters Heracross, Breloom, Lucario, and Dusknoir, who would otherwise cause a major problem for this team. EVs generate 246 speed, allowing Gliscor to comfortably outspeed Breloom, Dusknoir, and non-Choice Scarfed Heracross. Lucario almost always runs max speed, so it’s redundant to do the same for Gliscor.

Machamp (♂) @ Leftovers
Ability: No Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dynamicpunch
- Ice Punch
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

Machamp is an absolute beast. He can take attacks from both ends of the spectrum quite nicely and deal back a nice amount of damage in return. Machamp absorbs sleep, and when he’s low on HP or hit with an irritating status, I rinse and repeat.

Vaporeon (♂) @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 188 HP / 252 Def / 68 SAtk
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Protect
- Wish
- Surf
- Ice Beam

The standard Wish passing Vaporeon. Wish support is beneficial to this team, especially to those important members on this team who lack a reliable form of recovery.

Bronzong @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 152 Atk / 8 Def / 96 SDef
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Stealth Rock
- Hypnosis
- Gyro Ball
- Earthquake

Provides the much needed support of Stealth Rock and contributes to this team’s lack of special defenses. I also appreciate having something that can throw around status, shutting down those trying to set something up and allowing me to do so myself. Knowing that this important member of the team doesn’t take any residual damage from the Sandstorm is definitely a plus.

Dusknoir (♂) @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 76 Def / 180 SDef
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Shadow Sneak
- ThunderPunch
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split

This team requires a bit more Fighting type resistance and, more importantly, Gyarados counter; and Dusknoir here fits into this team almost perfectly. He ThunderPunches those rampaging Gyarados to oblivion and burns nearly any other physical attacking threat to critically diminish their attacking power.

I would put Guts on that Machamp... everyone thinks No Guard is the best thing since sliced bread, but if you go with cross chop, it will do 1.5x more damage. Guts is a good ability too you know.

Of course, if you are that hooked on the confusion chance, go ahead.

Also, nice having AA on Gliscor. I've seen teams get swept because a Heracross subbed and swords danced against a Gliscor... it was brutal!

I'm also gonna have to say NO to the gyarados option, because without his leftovers, his "bulkiness" is very much reduced. I would add a ghost type (specs lucario could cause problems) or a Metagross. Your lack of a gyarados counter disturbs me as well.

The confusion chance has saved me numerous times, so I think I'll stick with it. When Machamp is going down for the count, I like to slap some confusion on the opponent before going out.

I lol'd at the sliced bread comment.

Yeah, definately.

I've been thinking Dusknoir. How about you?

Yeah... or 'Tomb, both are very good. Dusknoir stops Gyarados though, so go with that. However, once you learn that a Lucario is Specs, be wary of Dark Pulse, because they might predict that switch... I know that I do >: )

So yeah, probably a special oriented Dusknoir, because Gliscor can handle MOST physical threats. Watch out for Azelf though, if it has HP Fighting and Flamethrower, you may get swept by it... try and scout it, because it will usually have one or the other.

Naw, looks pretty good, just make sure you have all these threats covered:

Salamence (all types)
Garchomp (all types)
Celebi
Jirachi
Heatran
Yanmega
Breloom
Lucario
Togekiss
Blissey
Tyranitar
Infernape
Porygon-Z
Mamoswine
Electivire
Heracross
Gyarados
Suicine

Good idea, IMO, Bronzong helps you stop a lot of irritating pokemon, like Specsmence. Wish Passing to him will make it even better.

Wait a minute, only 16 EVs needed for the 2HKO with Shadow Sneak? That doesn't sound right, especially since I keep getting 232 EVs to inflict 50% minimum. Even Metalkid is saying about as much...

For the 2HKO with Shadow Sneak, either 232 Atk EVs or Adamant nature and 128 EVs are required. That's what I keep getting, anyway. There must be another reason for the EVs... I'll try to figure it out tomorrow.

*yawn*

Yeah, definately. I find myself running to Bronzong when dragons like Salamence or Garchamp rear their ugly heads. I simply sleep them and proceed setting up Stealth Rock. Then, I turn to Vaporeon and make them run when I WishPass back to Bronzong. And that little strategy has been working incredibly well, actually.

Again, I was just trusting the analysis on that. Could you please look into it and get back to me? I'd appreciate that.

Nice team there, Chaos. Only thing I can think of at the moment is to invest your Machamp's Speed EVs into Defense or Spcl Defense seeing how it's slow as dirt.
