Let's Play! My Pokemon Stadium experience

Hello everyone! I have recently decided to challenge the Pokemon Stadium 1 cups & Gym Leader Castle! I have never done all of this before, I have beat the Stadium 2 battle tower with a team of my own, and a few of the stadium cups with rentals, but never really tried to do something as all encompassing as the entire stadium.

I've always wanted to take on Pokemon Stadium, but it'd always been a daunting task, but today I'm finally changing that. This thread is going to chronicle my journey through Pokemon Stadium 1, and the team I plan to build as I go through it. I'm making this as sort of a fun side thing for me to do alongside playing, but if anyone has any input on anything, comments, or Pokemon nicknames, please let me know!

So, I've decided to slowly build my team, training them from low levels for the Pika cup, then going back to train up a bit more for the Petit cup, and then training a bit more for the Poke cup, and finally training them one last time to take on the Prime cup. I love team building, and one of my favorite aspects of Pokemon media outside of the games is seeing the characters teams change and evolve, and I wanted to try to recreate that same sense of magic of seeing a team grow by slowly updating this thread with my teams progress and such! I've been recording my teambuilding too, and plan to edit it down to a video, but for now screenshots and forum posts should suffice hahaha.

I've already beaten the Pika cup, so I guess I can go ahead and link the vid I took of me dominating it, not that the Pika cup is particularly hard to dominate with your own Pokemon team. (Yes, I do plan on recording my bouts with the stadium cups and uploading them to capture that sense of magic I'd feel while watching the Pokemon teams in the anime train vigorously, and then take on whatever challenge Ash was about to challenge)

My team thus far is as follows:
ICBM the Starmie, with the moves:
-Surf
-Psychic
-Thunderbolt
-Icebeam
A special powerhouse, can take down just about anything, except dreaded electric types...

PK Omega the Alakazam
-Psychic
-Toxic
-Thunder Wave
-Seismic Toss
Your standard Alakazam, never actually used one in gen1 due to how OP it is, but that changes now I guess haha

and finally, Hayter the Onix!
-Earthquake
-Rock Slide
-Sreech
-Bind
Literally just a switch in for Starmie if they ever have to face off against an electric type. Don't expect to see much of him.

Thats about all I have to report for now, and I'm getting short on time. I'll edit this post with any info I think of, like I said im short on time and cant really fit as much stuff in as I want, but I at least wanted to start this thread.
If theres anything wrong with this post, or where I've posted it, please let me know mods and I'll move it!

Long time no see! Didn't mean for there to be such a long pause in between updates, especially since I had done everything I needed for the Petit (Fancy) Cup the day of making this original post, but life got hectic and I haven't been on my computer that much to post an update, so I'm sorry about that!

So, I began training for the Petit Cup, as well as the rest of the Stadium challenges. I began to level ICBM and PK Omega up to around level 26, and caught a new member of the team to replace Hayter!

Hayter might not be joining us for the rest of the stadium, but by god did they play an important role. You might not be in our party, but you will always be in our hearts. You and ICBM were an unstoppable duo.

ICBM and PK Omegas movesets are still the same, but Minotaur's is as follows:
-Earthquake
-Body Slam
-Thunderbolt
-Substitute

It should suffice for what I really need out of Minotaur, a switch in for electric type foes, plus some other coverage. I don't really like thunderbolt though, I might end up changing that later on down the road, I just don't know what to yet (any recommendations are absolutely welcome!)

So, after building my team to the appropriate levels for the Petit Cup, I head on over to challenge it, and...
Well, if you're also a fellow Stadium enjoyer, you might have already spotted the glaring problem that I just absolutely overlooked, for whatever reason. That problem being... NONE OF THESE POKEMON ARE EVEN ELIGIBLE FOR THE PETIT CUP D:

Yes, I really had a massive brain fart and thought the Petit Cup was just like the Pika Cup, but just with a higher level threshold. I really cannot believe I didn't look into it first before spending several hours leveling these, and other mons, up to the appropriate level to enter them into a stadium they cant even participate in. Welp. Back to the drawing board.

Slightly irritable, I hastily ran around Kanto in search of Pokemon I could possibly use to take on the Petit Cup, and managed to snag these funky dudes

My main thought process behind these picks were: Quick heavy hitters, and a Pokemon who can use Ice Beam (I am very scared of dragon types, if you couldn't tell). Very basic, but it was more than sufficient. I enjoy raising my own Pokemon, and associating cool fights with them, so even if they won't be used too much, they will always have a special place in my heart <3
Since these are just going to be used for the Petit Cup, its looking like Hayter is going to have some friends to chill with in the PC :D

I spend some time gathering TMs and getting them to the appropriate levels as fast as I possibly could, being tired and still wanting to challenge the Petit Cup before sleeping. This is the final results of their hasty training to take on the Petit Cup!
PK Alpha, the Abra!

-Psychic
-Seismic Toss
-Thunder Wave
-Double Team
He really is just a tiny version of PK Omega, so I figured the name was fitting. The Kazam siblings!
I also just really like the idea of having an Abra that can actually defend itself. This is one of my most prized Pokemon now solely due to that fact alone.

Da Diggerrrrrrrrrrr the Diglett!

-Earthquake
-Rock Slide
-Body Slam
-Toxic
Name is based off of an inside joke/meme, and the fact that I couldnt think of anything else to name her hahaha.
The physical counterpart to PK Alphas special. Both speedy, they are for sure a dynamic duo in my eyes.

And finally, Hypnotoad the Poliwag!

-Psychic
-Surf
-Ice Beam
-Hypnosis
Really only here because I needed a third, and to help pick up the slack if PK Alpha were to go down, and the dragon coverage, since I very much fear them. They do manage to put everyone in a trace and win every fight, however. I guess you shouldn't under estimate the GLORY OF THE HYPNOTOAD!!

With a new team in hand, I finally set sail from Vermillion, and head back to the Sevii Islands, where I am now headcanoning that's where Pokemon Stadium is located at, and decide to challenge the Petit Cup once in for all!
It was a fun challenge, and I enjoyed the unity of this ragtag team! For a mystery team with virtually no thought put into it, they all really pulled through!

Here is the footage captured live, and on site at the Petit Cup Stadium:

These dudes rocked! They deserve a good rest, and finally Hayter can have some new box mates! :D

Next time, though? ICBM, PK Omega, and the MINOTAUR will return in a big way, along with some new faces... They're kicking butt, taking names, and playing for keeps. I wouldn't mess with their might if I were you, but it seems some cocky trainers in the Poke Cup didn't get that memo...

Till next time everyone! :D

(Note: this is what future upd8s will look like going forward. In the first post I was tied for time, and was just excited to get this thread going, so its a lot more barebones comparatively. I might go back and redo it at some point to match this, and future posts, but we shall see.)
