ORAS OU My rain team

Hello everyone today i made a new team that is based around rain. In this team it will have Pokemon with swift swim and politoad. Please enjoy my team and suggestions to make it better

Politoed @ Damp Rock
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 248 HP / 164 SpD / 96 Spe
Calm Nature
- Scald
- Toxic
- Encore
- Rest

This is the most important pokemon on a rain team. Mainly because it is the only Pokemon that legally gets the ability drizzle. So politoads role is simple. start the rain. and with a damp rock, the rain will last longer. Scald is for coverage for politoad. Toxic is to stall pokemon and weaken them so that mega swampert or kingdra could do a clean sweep. Now I have a reason of why I chose encore. After endless and endless of testing 96spe is enough to outspeed azumarill. My friend and I tried to figure out. So I could lock azumarill into belly drum and ruin its plan. This is important because azumarill is a huge threat to this team. Rest is for recovery.

Ferrothorn @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 88 Def / 168 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Leech Seed
- Power Whip
- Gyro Ball
- Stealth Rock

This is my azumarill counter. With rocky helmet and iron barbs azumarill will take a lot of damage and ferrothorn completely walls azumarill. Rocks are for hazards and power whip and gyro ball are for stab and leech seed is for recovery and stall. So basically what azumarill could do is that in the rain with a huge power belly drum rain boosted waterfall will kill this team. so that's why this Pokemon is here.

Swampert-Mega @ Swampertite
Ability: Damp
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Waterfall
- Earthquake
- Ice Punch
- Power-Up Punch

Ah, the main powerhouse of this team. in the rain while in mega form, it is a fast killing machine. Waterfall and earthquake are swamperts main STAB moves. Ice punch is crucial since swampert is 4x weak to grass. I'm still debating on to put superpower or power up punch because superpower is strong but it makes swampert vulnerable to attacks more. For power up punch, it does minimal damage but you could get an attack boost for a better sweep. Swampert also counters electric types. Electric types are a counter to politoed and tornadeous-t

Kingdra @ Choice Specs
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 28 HP / 252 SpA / 228 Spe
Modest Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Draco Meteor
- Scald
- Ice Beam

This is my other rain sweeper. With swift swim, this Pokemon could outspeed most Pokemon and end it with a hydro pump or Draco meteor. Im thinking of replacing specs with a life orb but im not sure. il let the raters decide on that. Hydro pump and draco meteor are kingdras main STAB attack, doing heavy damage with specs. Scald and ice beam are for coverage. Ice beam counters dragon types and scald has a chance to burn.

Thundurus @ Life Orb
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 30 Def
- Rain Dance
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Thunder
- Focus Blast

This is my backup rain dancer. Just in case politoed dies, Thunderous could set up the rain again and possibly have another fighting chance. Now rain dance is self-explanatory. It sets up the rain. Hidden power ice makes it so that it hits rock types and ice types. Thunder is really obvious. Thunder does a lot of damage and it will never miss in the rain. Now focus blast. I'm debating on should I replace focus blast with thunder wave. Thunder wave can cripple Pokemon such as fast Pokemon that could sweep the team. So I don't know. Should I keep focus blast? or replace with thunder wave?

Tornadus-Therian @ Life Orb
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 76 Atk / 180 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Hurricane
- Focus Blast
- U-turn
- Knock Off

This Pokemon is the most useless Pokemon on this team. The only thing it does is scares of grass pokemon.I'mm not sure what to replace it with. I think i will replace with zapdos since it is an electric type, But anyways Hurricane is tornadus-t main stab move. It hits well and confuses pokemon. Focus blast is for rock, ice and steel types. U-turn is for pivot and switchins Knock off Is to knock off items of Pokemon.

So there you go. Plese rate my team and have a great day. and goodbye and happy ladder climbing.

yo. pretty cool rain team that uses dual therians. it's an interesting team for sure and i think maybe i can help do something about it. first off all you are ironically weak to opposing rain. you have no solid switch ins and opposing rain HO will tear you apart with scarf keld spamming rain boosted scalds as it gets burns on the more important mons.

right off the bat, i am going to make the simplest suggestion and suggest that you run hp fire latios over tornadus-t. now you might be asking "zbr are you crazy? hp fire on a rain team?" understand that your turn 1 play need not be a send in poli to set rain and go kind of play. if your opponent has things that can stop your rain from putting in work (for example, ferro and to an extent scizor), hp fire-ing the mons can help you reduce the load you have on other mons when it comes to breaking down the opposing teams. now since we are running HO rain, i suggest running memento hp fire latios so that it gives your rain setter a free switch in or even your sweeper to come in and start smacking shit up. or if you are afraid of getting sacked by stall then you can run defog instead.

the main problem that most rain teams have is that they always click x when they see a stall team on the opposing side of the field. this can be alleviated by running mixed thundy with knock off and superpower. this set up helps lure in mons that normally come in on kingdra / thundy-i on stall and allows for you to easily smash through the opposing team.

nothing much else to say here except that perhaps you may want to run LO / splash plate on kingdra so that you can swap up moves while being able to fire off powerful scalds without being locked. this is just a personal thing tho so it's up to you. hopefully my suggestions help you climb up the ladder more and improve your team so that it rectifies some of the weaknesses that are present. good luck and have fun in the game! /cheers/
