My Sandstorm team

Hey guys, I've been working hard on this as you can tell because I have 10 different verisons of the team. I am in need of help because it doesnt seem to be working. I'm going to list the teams and the pokemon that changed, but only the current one am I going to put stats and strategies. If your curios about the previous versions just ask and I'll let you know everything about it.

Team 1:

Tyranitar Excadrill Stoutland Gliscor Hippowdon Regirock
Team 2:
Tyranitar Excadrill Stoutland Mamoswine Hippowdon Regirock
Team 3:
Tyranitar Excadrill Stoutland Mamoswine Hippowdon Quagsire
Team 4:
Tyranitar Excadrill Stoutland Mamoswine Scizor Quagsire
Team 5:
Tyranitar Excadrill Stoutland Mamoswine Reuniclus Quagsire
Team 6:
Tyranitar Excadrill Stoutland Mamoswine Reuniclus Bastiodon
Team 7:
Tyranitar Excadrill Stoutland Mamoswine Reuniclus Hippowdon
Team 8:
Tyranitar Excadrill Stoutland Heatran Reuniclus Hippowdon
Team 9:
Tyranitar Excadrill Stoutland Gliscor Reuniclus Hippowdon

Team 10:

248.gif

Tyranitar (M) @ Life Orb Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 108 HP / 200 Atk / 120 Def / 80 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Stone Edge
- Dragon Dance
- Brick Break
- Crunch

Tyranitar's role in the team is to start up a sandstorm, be bulky and still dish out some punishment. the only problem is he really cant take a fighting move, which is his only downside.

Excadrill (F) @ Air Balloon

Trait: Sand Rush
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- X-Scissor

Excadrill's role in the team is to be an extremely fast sweeper at a whopping 604 speed. His attack is excellent also at 369 is a fairly good sweeper especially after SD.

508.gif

Stoutland (M) @ Choice Band

Trait: Sand Rush
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Return
- Crunch
- Fire Fang
- Wild Charge

Stoutland's role is also to be a speed sweeper at 518 speed, with 328 attack plus a choice band so he is at 492 attack. He is pretty self-explanitory and can take a pretty good punch.

472.gif

Gliscor (M) @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Poison Heal
EVs: 188 HP / 64 Atk / 184 Def / 72 Spd
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Ice Fang
- Earthquake
- Fling
- Acrobatics
Now Gliscor's role is much different. Gliscor is supposed to poison the target with fling, then hit the target hard while being a wall. It is vital for him to throw away the Toxic Orb so he can get Acrobatics up.

593.gif

Jellicent (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Cursed Body
EVs: 248 HP / 216 Def / 44 Spd
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Surf
- Shadow Ball
- Recover
- Will-O-Wisp
Jellicent is another wall, he isn't doing so well, I liked Reuniclus better. He really doesn't do anything helpful to the team.

450.gif

Hippowdon (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 200 HP / 252 Def / 56 SDef
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Curse
- Earthquake
- Ice Fang
- Slack Off

And finally we have Hippowdon, once again. Hippowdon serves as a back up Sand Streamer, while walling and sweeping. His job is self-explanatory and works decently.

Please post your ideas on this and what you think I could do to improve it.

I'm somewhat concerned about your Jellicent. In addition to his allegedly poor performance, according to you, he is susceptible to sandstorm damage and, as such, really doesn't fit into the team well. Reuniclus with Overcoat would likely be a better substitute.

However, if you're looking for water types, Empoleon is about as close to Jellicent in defensive stats as you get, as well as providing better offense and immunity to Sandstorm.

Would you recommened Reuniclus or Empoleon?
For that, it's hard to say because they both offer completely different attributes to your team. Reuniclus is better offensively, while Empoleon is better defensively.

However, Reuniclus's psychic typing helps take care of fighting types, which it appears threaten much of your team (Tyranitar, Stoutland, Excadrill). In that, Reuniclus has a slight advantage on your team. Empoleon's steel and water typing really only cover rock, ground, and fire (and the latter not very effectively). But your team's ground theme already covers rock and fire. However, Empoleon has 11 resistances and 1 immunity, making him an essential walking wall.

I brought up Empoleon because he shares Jellicent's water typing, while offering immunity to sandstorm. Also, you said you'd already used Reuniclus on your team, so I assumed he didn't really cut it on the team and was removed for that reason.

If you want offense, bring back Reuniclus. If you're looking for a wall that fights back, go for Empoleon.

3. Have some actual words in your post beyond your six Pokemon and their moves. Not following this makes your post quite boring to read and rate. All Pokemon should have a good reason for being in your team anyway, so why not post that reason? If you are having trouble with this one, start by giving an explanation for each team member. Why are they there? What role do they serve? How do you get them in? Then, give an explanation of how you would open with the team and how you would go about using it. All of these things help people rate your team and allow us to offer more helpful advice.

Just making sure that you realize that this rule is being broken, some of your sets offer no important information or are lacking information.

So two Sand starters? This was done a lot in early 5th gen but it ended up wasting a slot in your team for something better. Keep Tyranitar and lose the hippo.

Tyranitar (F) @ Life Orb Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SDef
Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd)
- Rock Slide
- Stealth Rock
- Flamethrower
- Pursuit/ Crunch
Not only is this set more updated with the metagame, it also functions more as a lead, considering thats the spot your Tyranitar is in. Flamethrower is for incoming Ferrothorns/ Steel types in general (bar Heatran), Rock Slide is a reliable STAB move that hits and OHKOs both Thundurus and Volcarona, two dangerous Pokemon in their own right. Pursuit is the preferred fourth move because you can hit exiting Lati@s after their at -2 from Draco Meteor. You could use Crunch for more power but because of how slow this set is, a counter might switch in and take the Crunch with ease.

But like I said lose the hippo, there are plenty of other good sand abusing Pokemon out there, heres looking and you Landorus.

But like I said lose the hippo, there are plenty of other good sand abusing Pokemon out there, heres looking and you Landorus.

I think Landorus is the best choise instead of Hippowdon, I use it in my team too, @Hectic x try this set:

Landorus @Yache berry/Life orb
Ability: Sand Force
Jolly nature
Evs 252 Atk, 252 Spe 4 HP
Moveset: Earthquake-Stone edge-Outrage-Hammer arm/Brick break

The power of Earthquake and Stone edge is increased by Sand force and Outrage hits Dragons. The choise is between Hammer arm and Brick break: the first one is more powerful but it lows the speed of Landorus, while Brick break has got the advantage to break Screens but its power is lower than Hammer arm. With yache berry Landorus can take a x4 ice attack but life orb increases his great attack power.
Furthermore, Landorus has the same weaknesses of Hippowdon but Grass type's attacks are not super effective...so in conclusion I think this pkmn deserves consideration in a sandstorm team.

I like so much your Gliscor with fling, it's a really nice set with the toxic orb and acrobatics.
I also think Empoleon and Reuniclus are the better choises to replace Jellicent but I believe Empoleon is a little bit better because it's a water type with the immunity to the sandstorm.
