So far this team is 5-0 on Shoddy.
Roserade (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 6 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Leaf Storm
- Sleep Powder
- Toxic Spikes
- Hidden Power [Fire]
An awesome lead in my opinion. Grass/Fire is Super Effective against more than half of the top 50 pokemon, and Roserade has the Speed and SpAtk to take advantage of this. Anything Grass/Fire isn't good against can be put to sleep. Roserade doesn't have much health, but Sleep Powder gives her a free turn with which to use Toxic Spikes, and she can put down a second layer later when she switches into something afraid of grass moves.
Hitmontop (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 HP/252 Atk/6 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Fake Out
- Mach Punch
- Bullet Punch
- Close Combat
Hitmontop is one of my favorite Pokemon. He takes out trouble pokemon late game, and when combined with Toxic Spikes not many sweepers can stand up to a Fake Out+Mach Punch/Bullet Punch. Two Bullet Punches kill a Gengar. I'm thinking about replacing Hitmontop with a Scarfgar so I can absorb earthquakes and close combats that are sure to be thrown at Heatran, but I'm not sure.
Swampert (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 240 HP/216 Def
Relaxed nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Hydro Pump
- Earthquake
- Ice Beam
- Stealth Rock
Swampert's my tank. He's a common mixpert and he does a lot for my team, being the only one with an ice type move. He sets up Stealth Rocks and takes hits from types that Heatran and Roserade can't deal with.
Heatran (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power
- Taunt
- Explosion
Roserade is sure to attract fire moves and Heatran is ready to take them. If there's something Heatran can't handle, I just switch into Swampert. Explosion is a must, and I like taunt on him.
Wobbuffet (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Shadow Tag
EVs: 6 HP/252 Def/252 SDef
Lonely nature (+Atk, -Def)
- Mirror Coat
- Counter
- Encore
- Safeguard
Every team has a few pokemon that it just can't deal with. Wobbuffet is there to make sure the pokemon my team can't handle die. Switch in, use Encore, and then if they use an attacking move use Mirror Coat or Counter. If they use a stat boost or a move that deals very low damage such as Rapid Spin, switch into Dugtrio.
Dugtrio (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Arena Trap
EVs: 252 Atk/252 Spd/6 SDef
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Toxic
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Sucker Punch
A standard Dugtrio with a little twist. Instead of Aerial Ace, I use Toxic. If the enemy uses a stat boost move, I just switch from Wobbuffet to Dugtrio and use Toxic, then go back to Wobbuffet and use Encore. Six or seven turns later, the other pokemon dies.
