So, i'm building a team around shiftry because he is my favourite pokemon.
I have never been batteling competitive before and havent played gen 5.
So far this is what i have.
Shiftry @ lifeorb
Abilty: Chlorophyll
EV: 252 spe | 252 spa | 4 hp
Nature: modest
- Nasty plot
- Solarbeam
- Dark pulse
- Focus blast
So this is pretty much my shiftry, I am still not sure if i should take shadowball or focus blast because focus blast doesnt have the best accuracy.
Ninetales @ Heat rock
Ability: Drought
EV 252 HP | 252 SpD | 4 Spe
Nature: Calm
- Will-o-Wisp
- Flamethrower
- Confuse ray
- Pain split
To use shiftry, a sunny day setter is a must and i have a personal preferation for ninetails over charizard Y. And i think its a waste of the mega slot.
Cloyster @ Nevermeltice
Ability: Skill link
Ev: 252 Atk | 252 Spe | 4 Def
Nature: Jolly
- Shell smash
- Rock blast
- Icicle spear
- Razor shell
Because my shiftry is a special set i needed a good physical sweeper and cloyster is my go-to choise because i have been playing with him since red/blue and i think he looks awesome and is also a really good sweeper with shell smash.
Banette @ Banettite
Ability: Frisk
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Adamant Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Taunt
- Destiny Bond
- Knock off
Finally one of my favourite pokemon got a mega-evo and its a perfect troll set to annoy people. I went with knock off over shadow claw to get rid of eviolite chansey and other pokemon who rely heavy on their item. I took taunt to make sure i dont get stealth rocks to make it easier for cloyster to set up
Cofagrigus @ Leftovers
Ability: Mummy
Evs: 252 Def | 252 Hp | 4Spd
Nature: Bold
- Hex
- Will-O-Wisp
- Haze
- Trick room
I replaced scolipede for cofagrigus because he is an amazing pokemon and a really easy switch in on talonflame mawile azumarill and other pokemon who rely so much on their ability. The trick room used to work for me in the past but cofagrigus is the only pokemon on my team who benefits from it. I might replace it for pain split because he lacks recovery. I like having haze on my team to clean all setups because i don's have a pokemon with whirlwind/roar
Mamoswine @ focus Sash
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 Def
Nature: Jolly
- Stealth rock
- Earthquake
- Icicle crash
- Ice shard
I replaced donphan for mamoswine as a lead. Took focus sash to make sure i get my stealth rocks up and make my team more phisically offensive in case cloyster cannot get set up
