Hey everyone, I'm new to pokemon competitive battling and i would really like some pointers/concrit on my team.
I've been using this team for awhile on Showdown and its been working pretty well for me. I've switched it up and messed with it a little but this is my first time building a team and battling so i dont really know much about Evs/Ivs/Abilities/etc and how they all work together. Not good with strategy lol
So heres my ragtag team that I've thrown together.
Sorry for my lack of knowledge in advance.
Breloom @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVS: 236 HP / 248 SpD / 24 Spe
Careful Nature
- Leech Seed
- Mach Punch
- Low Sweep
- Bullet Seed
Breloom is one of my favorite pokemon (besides Skitty whos a very... derpy... battler) so i decided to base my team around him. He's sort of a "set up" type pokemon (feel free to correct my term usage lol). He cant be hurt by toxic so it kind of puts a disadvantage to other people that use toxic as a set up. I like his typing a lot but he cant take hits at all.
Mega Aggron @ Aggronite
Ability: Rock Head
EVS: 252 Atk / 116 HP / 140 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Head Smash
- Heavy Slam
- Earthquake
- Aqua Tail
Aggron is here as my physical wall and for some type coverage. Hes pretty bulky (and now that i think about it, i probably should have spread the EVS differently) so he takes hits well and with earthquake, he can sweep pretty easily. I have heavy slam to take care of those pesky fairy types.
Gardevoir @ Life Orb
Ability: Trace
EVS: 252 Spe / 4 SpD / 252 SpA
Timid Nature
- Psychic
- Signal Beam
- Focus Blast
- Destiny Bond
I have Gardevoir as a semi-sweeper as well. She cant take hits very well but I can generally get an outspeed on most pokemon and become a real threat. The rest of her moveset seems pretty self explanatory.
Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVS: 244 HP / 40 Def / 244 Spe
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Toxic
- Acrobatics
- Roost
I love everything about this Gliscor. He can outspeed, he can hit hard, hes not vulnerable to setup moves like toxic and he avoids hard hitting moves like earthquake. Hes all around a great pokemon in my opinion and offers great type coverage for my team. His moveset is also really diverse and thats another reason i chose him. I could also use him as a set-up/stall pokemon.
Lanturn @ Leftovers
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVS: 40 HP / 252 Def / 262 Spe
Calm Nature
- Scald
- Ice Beam
- Volt Switch
- Thunder Wave
I chose Lanturn mostly for type coverage. Electric is weak to ground but it counters its own weakness with water. I love the typing that he has and hes one of the bulkier water types (aside from like quagsire and swampert). He has a diverse move set and i can get either Burn or Paralysis from 2 of his moves.
Chandelure @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire
EVS: 252 SpA/ 252 Spe / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
- Fire Blast
- Will-O-Wisp
- Energy Ball
- Shadow Ball
Again, for type coverage, I love this pokemon. Diverse move pool, can get the burn off with will-o-wisp, and Flash fire is fantastic. Quick pokemon for semi-sweeping. Takes care of Ghost/Dark types well.
Pretty Self explanatory.
Thanks for taking the time to read this, and again sorry for my pokemon strategy incompetence lol, i would love to hear opinions/concrit/etc on how i could fix my team.
I really wouldnt want to take any pokemon out cause i enjoy these alot (Also not to fond of Pseudos :( ) but im willing to try anything.
