This is an OU team I have been using for a while now. It wins a good bit, but loses just as much. I’ve been testing this team for a few weeks now (ever since I got back into competitive battling) and have changed a few things, but I don’t know enough about the metagame myself to finish the changes without just throwing new Pokemon in for no reason. I have a few problems with the team but I'm not sure how to address them.

Azelf @ Focus Sash
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Stealth Rock
- Taunt
- U-turn
- Fire Blast
This guy has helped me a lot. Not only does it seem to outspeed most other leads (giving me a good time to taunt and prevent other Stealth Rockers) but the U-turn is good for dealing a nice chunk of damage. Most of the time if I get a super effective hit, it takes 35% off of the opposing pokemon. If faced with Ferrothorn or some other pokemon weak to Fire, then Fire Blast does the trick nicely. The main purpose of this guy is to just set up Stealth Rock, sometimes prevent others from doing so, and then deal a bit of damage before fainting or switching out. I could use something besides Fire Blast though, it doesn’t cover enough types to help me that much.
Togekiss (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Nasty Plot
- Aura Sphere
- Air Slash
- Roost
Nasty Plot Tanker. Togekiss has always been a favorite of mine, and it seems to get some good coverage in this set. Set up for one turn with Nasty Plot, then proceed to either A)FlinchHax, B)Aura Sphere Super Effective, or C) STAB with Air Slash. Roost gives me insurance against the many Stone Edges. With a little prediction, I can Roost before the Rock move hits, making it do normal damage instead of OHKOing me. Not to mention Roost+Leftovers makes for a nice chunk of healing. This guy is great at taking some damage, and dealing it out ten-fold. I really see no reason to replace or change this Pokemon at all.
Infernape (M) @ Life Orb

EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Flare Blitz
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Mach Punch
...I’m not gonna lie, I’m not sure why this guy is here. It’s a set-up sweeper, mainly for some priority coverage and type coverage, but the Life Orb runs him dry after a few turns. This guy needs to go. Seriously. Either a new set of Infernape or just a new Pokemon altogether.
Jirachi @ Leftovers

EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Psychic
- Grass Knot
- Thunderbolt
Not as good of a sweeper as Togekiss, but a good sweeper in a pinch nonetheless. Better used to revenge for Togekiss. Most pokemon I encounter that take care of Togekiss seem to have trouble getting rid of this guy, so they switch. This gives me the opportunity to set up with Calm Mind. Bonus if they switch in a special attacker. STAB Psychic, with Grass Knot for heavy coverage, and T-Bolt to take care of Water/Flying Pokemons. It’s good for type coverage, but I could use something better moves wise probably.
Gyarados (M) @ Life Orb

EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)

"A good reliable DDer." At least he was last generation. I really could use a replacement for this guy. Especially with the Life Orb. It seems to me that no one uses Life Orb anymore. Gyarados is good for the occasional “Switch in, hit with STAB Waterfall on Heatran, get destroyed”, but besides that, it has outlived its usefulness. This needs a new set or new Pokemon, like Infernape above.
Blissey (F) @ Leftovers

EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Aromatherapy
- Softboiled
- Flamethrower
- Toxic
Ah, my special wall. I love this one. Not only do I use it for clearing up statuses (CURSE YOU PARAHAX!!!), but then I toxic the pokemon and Flamethrower it to death, with the occasional Softboiled to keep me alive. This guy doesn’t need much change, but I have one problem with it. Magic Guard, kills this set. A Reuniclus and this Blissey got into a fight, I won by a stroke of luck. And it took a while.
So basically, what I need is...
1. Improvements on Azelf (Lead) and Jirachi.
2. Replacements for Infernape and Gyarados.
3. Whatever else comes up.
I'm going to leave this here. If someone could explain how this threat list works, I would greatly appreciate it!
