My team for the Kyurem Suspect Test

Introduction: Before the Kyurem Suspect Test I haven’t really ever gotten reqs for a suspect test before , This is because either I didn’t have the time to get reqs or I just failed to many times and gave up, However with the way this team is performing for me so far I may finally get enough reqs to vote on the test. Without further adieu let my introduce the team that is helping me get my reqs.

Scizor @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Technician
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD

The first member of my team is Scizor, I included Scizor on this team for three reasons one it’s a great answer to Kyurem, Kyurem being the mon that’s being suspected as well just a great pokemon in Ou in general needs to be accounted for in the team builder and I believe that Scizor is the most reliable answer to Kyurem, two its a great pivot stab u turn provides decent chip and its generally slow speed allows for slow u turns, three Scizor provides nice synergy with my two other defensive mons Heatran and Slowbro since both of those two are weak two Kyurem and Scizor checks Kyurem

Run from it dread it Lando Makes its presence known own this team although in a different fashion than usual. I opted for bandorous on this team because I wanted a banded wall breaker with good defensive utility and bandorous fits that role perfectly with its excellent defensive typing and potent offensive power. I originally wanted to run Urshifu instead of Lando but I found through play testing that Lando fits the team better.

Kyurem @ Never-Melt Ice
Ability: Pressure

Standing at 9’10 ft and weighing 716.5 pounds The dragon the myth the legend, The damn reason that this suspect test even happened in the first place ladies and gentlemen may I introduce to you Never-Melt Ice Kyurem. What can I say about this beast that hasn’t been said before It has the ability to break through almost any Pokemon with its raw power alone and just when you think you‘ve got it down at low health it roosts almost its health back and beats what ever its left of your team in your previous attempt to check it. I wanted to build around this monster and I handpicked the rest of my team to support this absolute behemoth.

Tornadus-Therian (M) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe

- Hurricane/Heat Wave

Tornadus was chosen for this team for its ability to clear the pointy rocks that Kyurem doesn’t like as well providing a reliable pivot that gets Kyurem in to do its thing. Tornadus also provides a decent check to kart and other physical attackers. I am admittedly having trouble picking between Hurricane and Heat wave as Hurricane provides better neutral damage while heat wave deals with specific mons like Corv and Ferro.

Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 136 SpD / 120 Spe
Calm Nature
- Magma Storm
- Earth Power
- Taunt
- Toxic
Tran is what makes this team truly special, Kyurems only checks are special walls like Glowking and Blissey as well as Volcorona, what does Heatran do , trap and kill all those fat walls so Kyurem can feast on what remains of the opponents team. Heatran is also an amazing special wall it provide a reliable check to pretty much every special attacker in the tier. If Kyurem is the car of this team than Heatran is the engine who makes the car run ass efficiently as possible

Slowbro @ Colbur Berry
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Body Press
- Ice Beam
- Slack Off
- Teleport
This team needed a physical wall and by Arceus Slowbro fits this role perfectly. It checks chomp, Weavile, Bisharp, Shifu and many other prominent physical attackers. Slowbro also provides reliable pivoting Teleport. Overall Slowbro is the glue that holds this team together.
Before I finish this RMT I want to preface that I’m not finished getting my reqs yet but with that being said this team is giving me the best chance of voting that I have had in my almost 3 years on this site. With that being said I hope this team helps you climb the suspect ladder and I hope that posting this team doesn’t jinx my chances. One final thing its pretty late for me now so I probably won’t respond to comments until the morning.

Im gonna be honest Choice Band lando isnt great, atleast not anymore, it used to be a decent set but now its just more of a waste of a lando, it can work if you try to its not completely unviable IMO, but in this team I dont think it really works, especially when you get so much more out of defensive, overall Choice Band doesnt break that well either so i just feel like Spdef is just a way better choice here.

Ok so Tapu Koko gives you a great speed control option especially with Torn-T which just solves any speed problems you mightve had with the team,. It also is a great pivot for Kyurem letting it give more and more chances to click Ice Beam or Freeze Dry as it U-turns out of Ground-types also it pressures the shit out of Glowking especially with rocks.

All the next are pretty minor changes so ill just do a bullet point system:

  • Changed Scizor EVs to more physdef oriented cuz of weavile n kart, and Swords Dance over Knock though you could keep knock if you want.
  • edited Torn-T EVs
  • Modest Kyurem over Timid
  • And last but not least Future Sight over Ice Beam (this is optional too tbh)
