My Trick Room Team!

I'm participating in a Competition where the rules are:

• From a character in the game

• Already learned by a Pokémon that was received at an official Pokémon event or promotion

• Pokémon cannot use the move Sky Drop during battle

My current team is as follows:

Reuniclus
579.png

move 1: Trick Room
move 2: Psychic
move 3: Focus Blast
move 4: Shadow Ball
item: Life Orb
ability: Magic Guard
nature: Quiet
evs: 192 HP / 64 Def / 252 SpA
ivs: 0 Spe

My Trick room Establisher! This is definitely one of my leads! I'll first use Trick Room and start sweeping. Magic Guard will protect me from Life Orb recoil. Focus Blast is to take care of the Dark Types such as Hydreigon as well as provide type coverage. Shadow Ball also provides type coverage. Psyshock is its STAB move to counter any Specially Defence Bulky Pokemon (Are there any I need to be worried about?) I think it will find its downfall with the Hydreigons that will be present...At the moment I'm debating whether I should replace Psyshock with Psychic. The only real reason I can think of to have Pyshock is for Blissey, which is banned. Are there any threats I need to be worried about to warrant the use of Psyshock?

Conkeldurr
534.gif

move 1: Bulk Up
move 2: Drain Punch
move 3: Hammer Arm
move 4: Stone Edge
item: Shell Bell (I find this works great with Drain Punch)
ability: Guts
nature: Brave
evs: 120 HP / 252 Atk / 136 SpDef
ivs: 0 Spe

Conkeldurr is my Physical Sweeper and the powerhouse of my team. I plan on Bulking up, then proceeding to use STAB Drain Punches. Drain Punch will heal a lot of HP back. Mach Punch will be used if necessary to KO some fast (slow in this case) threats. Stone Edge is tailored especially for Volcarona and other pesky fire types that will threaten Ferrothorn. Reuniclus is very threatening to my Conkeldurr. It will resist Mach Punch and outspeed me. But my Conkeldurr supports my Reuniclus as it sets up Trick Room by scaring away the Darkness.

Cofagrigus
563.png

move 1: Calm Mind
move 2: Destiny Bond
move 3: Shadow Ball
move 4: Will-O-Wisp
item: Leftovers
nature: Bold
evs: 252 HP / 120 Def / 136 SDef

I liked Cofagrigus more because he was less Fragile than Ferrothorn in terms of Fire attacks. I saw too many Fire Pokemon to actually keep Ferrothorn safe. Plus Cofagrigus doesn't have to use Protect to be safe from Explosion! This set is really... weird looking. But I do get a free Calm Mind as when Landorus knocks out the opponent I get a free turn to use Calm Mind.

Gigalith
526.png

move 1: Rock Slide
move 2: Earthquake
move 3: Explosion
move 4: Protect
item: Normal Gem
nature: Brave
ability: Sturdy
evs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 6 SpDef
ivs: 0 Spe

I use Gigalith to quickly clean up my opponent after my Reuniclus has been knocked out. I use Rock Slide or if necessary, Explode on the opponent with my Conkeldurr being switched out for Ferrothorn.

My Bench (Any Pokemon on this list can be readily substituted for another).

Ferrothorn has been replaced by Cofagrigus
Spr_5b_598.png

move 1: Spikes
move 2: Leech Seed
move 3: Gyro Ball
move 4: Protect
nature: Relaxed
item: Leftovers
evs: 252 HP / 48 Def / 208 SpDef
ivs: 0 Spe

Using Ferrothorn to stall/disrupt the opponent. First I'll set up Spikes (How many layers do you think are good?). Then I'll leech seed both opponents and proceed to use protect to stall while Leftovers recovers my HP along with Leech Seed. If necessary, I'll attack with Gyro Ball. I'm slightly concerned about all the Volcarona the I might face.. as they will put Ferrothorn in great danger. I'm also debating whether I should use Stealth Rock instead of Spikes The only thing I can really think about that Stealth Rock will hit for 4x is Volcarona and I think I can counter it with Conkeldurr's Stone Edge. After actually USING this team I've found that Ferrothorn is much fragile to Fire Pokemon and Volcarona and Charizard seem to be a common threat I'm facing. Thus I have replaced Ferrothorn with Cofragigus for Explosion Immunity as well as for fewer weaknesses. How should I counter the Abundance of Fire Pokemon that I face?

Hydreigon has been replaced by Gigalith.
Spr_5b_635.png

move 1: Dragon Pulse
move 2: Fire Blast
move 3: Surf
move 4: Dark Pulse
item: Expert Belt (Didn't know what else to give it)
nature: Quiet
ability: Levitate
evs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 Def
ivs: 0 Spe

Just your regular sweeper. Dragon Pulse for STAB, I never liked Draco Meteor - I hated halving my special attack lowered by two stages. And considering Hydreigon is a Special Sweeper I'm definitely not sacrificing any of my offence. Fire Blast is for coverage and can take out opposing Ferrothorns. Surf is also for coverage. Dark Pulse is for STAB and to counter opposing Reuniculuses. I'm worried about the Haxorus that people will use. Will Haxorus be a major threat to my Hydreigon? (In Trick Room conditions) Will my Hydreigon outspeed Haxorus? Hydreigon is my only Dragon Counter and I am afraid that if Hydreigon is taken out prematurely then I will be powerless against other Dragons. Also Conkeldurr seems to be the biggest threat as it can Mach Punch me. Even without Mach Punch it will most likely outspeed me (In terms of Trick Room).

Landorus (Considering Landorus instead of Gigalith)
645_landorus_front_norm.png

Move 1: Earthquake
Move 2: Rock Slide
Move 3: Explosion
Move 4: Hammer Arm
Item: Normal Jewel
Nature: Adamant (If I am to lead with Cofragigus and Landorus) OR Brave if he is to be my late game Explosioner.
Ability: Sand Power
Evs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe (For Adamant) OR 252 SpD (For Brave)

I want to replace my Gigalith for Landorus but I am not sure of the advantages I can gain by doing this. I love however, that Landorus has Hammer Arm, which effectively raises its Speed, AND can take out Hydreigons for Reuniclus. It just serves as a slightly weaker Gigalith but more bulky. Will there be enough Vanilluxes to counter my Landorus?

I want to make it my lead, outspeeding everyone with Explosion but will this work?

VERY IMPORTANT:
I am not sure what order I should use my team in.

At the moment I use:

  1. Reuniclus and Conkeldurr, sweeping as much as I can before one of them faints.
  2. Then after one faints I use Gigalith, and withdraw Conkeldurr as Gigalith faints itself using Explosion, leaving me with Conkeldurr and Ferrothorn against the opponent's possibly one Pokemon remaining.

But..
If I replace Gigalith with Landorus, should I then:
  1. Use Reuniclus and Landorus, using Landorus to Hammer Arm the opposing Hydreigon?
  2. Then explode, withdrawing Reuniclus for Ferrothorn?

I am really baffled by what order I should use. What order should I use for my team? I find that I have a lot of trouble against Hydreigons on the first turn. They use Dark Pulse on Reuniclus as I set up Trick Room and this tends to either KO, or almost KO. Sometimes I consider starting with Gigalith and Ferrothorn, and exploding right off the first turn while using protect on Ferrothorn. But I am not sure of the stability behind this strategy.

What order would you use my team in?

And my remaining questions now are:

  1. What are the biggest threats I will see?
  2. Do I have counters to these threats?
  3. If no, what can be done to resolve these threats?
  4. Are there any threats I need to be worried about to warrant the use of Psyshock?
  5. Should I use Stealth Rock instead of Spikes on Ferrothorn?
  6. Do I need to change any Pokemon? ANY Pokemon can be suggested
  7. What are the Advantages of my Team?
  8. What Disadvantages are there to my team?
  9. Any minor changes I could make?
  10. What order should I use these Pokemon in? At the moment I'd like to use Reuniclus and Conkeldurr to lead, but could I do it differently? Eg. Cofagrigus and Gigalith/Landorus?
  11. Rating out of 100 (Please factor in Weaknesses, Coverage, Strategy, etc.)

Thank you very much in advance! I am really excited for this Battling Competition and I really want to win! :toast:

1. Reuniclus is good in my opinion. Nothing really needs to be hit by Psyshock that will not take more from Psychic.

2. Conkledurr should have Flame Orb as it's item. The attack boost from Guts is worth the slight burn damage. Lose Bulk Up or Drain Punch for Hammer Arm. Hammer Arm lowers your speed even more under Trick Room making you outspeed most pokemon after one or two uses.

3. Ferrothorn should be sassy instead.

4. Gigalith is good as is.

Gigalith should be replaced by Landorus though.

85'ish/100: 90/100 if you take my advice with the moves, natures, and adding Landorus.

Thank you very much for your opinion! :D

I found that I liked the Shell Bell + Drain Punch combo on Conkeldurr. I've never really been a fan of using Guts strategies...

Ferrothorn has now been replaced by Cofagrigus

Gigalith has been replaced by Landorus.

Are there any changes I should make to this? Was the team fine as it was before? Or are Cofagrigus and Landorus welcome additions to the team?
