My UU Team: Primeape and Friends

Hi there I'm a very new Pokémon battler so I hope you can forgive my newbishness and help my team become better. The goal of this team is to set-up some spike layers and stealth rocks with Cloyster and Uxie, weaken the foes/stall them with Celfable and Slowbro, set up screens with Uxie, and then go in for the kill with Primeape and Mismagius.

Cloyster

N: Adamant
A: Skill Link
I: Life Orb
Ev: Hp: 160 Atk: 252 SpD: 96
Ice Shard
Rock Blast
Explosion
Spikes

My lead and Spike dropper is Cloyster. I really like Cloyster, very strong defense and good attack. Ice Shard is a great STAB move with priority and Rock Blast hitting all five times is wonderfully great to break subs especially. Explosion is to blow up the really nasty defensive/SpD Pokémons that are trying to setup when Cloyster sets up spikes. And of course, spikes.

Slowbro

N: Bold
A: Own Tempo
I: Leftovers
Ev: Hp: 252 Def: 252 SpD: 4
Slack Off
Surf
Psychic
Thunder Wave

Slowbro is a great defensive beast to behold. Slack off is great recovery especially when the foe is struggling to take him out. Surf and Psychic are obvious STAB moves and Thunder Wave helps to set up for Primeape and Mismagius.

Clefable

N: Careful
A: Magic Guard
I: Leftovers
Ev: Hp:252 Def: 44 SpD: 212
Softboiled
Seismic Toss
Protect
Toxic

Ah, Clefable. The stalling I've seen you do. Such a great stall mon. Especially If you know you've taken out the opponent's fighting pokemon. I think the moves are pretty obvious though i'm still trying out Softboiled over Wish and i'm not sure which one I should use.

Primeape

N: Jolly
A: Vital Spirit
I: Expert Belt
Ev: Atk: 252 Spe: 252 Hp: 4
Close Combat
Stone Edge
Punishment
U-Turn

I love Primeape. Favorite Pokémon. I don't like Choice Band however so I'm trying out Expert Belt. I know most every Primeape is banded so I use this set to prevent predicting switches and being stuck with a lame move. The moves are pretty good coverage. However, I'm considering changing a move for Earthquake though I'm not sure which yet or even if it is necessary.

Mismagius

N: Timid
A: Levitate
I: Leftovers
Ev: SpA: 252 Spe: 252 Hp: 4
Nasty Plot
Taunt
Shadow Ball
Thunderbolt

Mismagius. At first I merely put her in my Team as a way to avoid Ground attacks but I've grown to like her. Switch in on a ground move and usually (considering who I switch in on and especially if I have both screens up) I can set up a Nasty Plot and proceed to take out many foes. Taunt is a great counter to many pokemon that want to set up stuff and can sometimes force a switch out (see Clefable). Shadow Ball and Thunderbolt and good moves. i chose Thunderbolt over Hidden Power (Fighting) because that extra IV of speed is necessary.

Uxie

N: Impish
A: Levitate
I: Light Clay
Ev: Hp: 252 Def: 252 SpD: 4
Reflect
Light Screen
Stealth Rocks
Yawn

Holy defensive wall, Batman! Uxie is such a great wall to set-up with. usually I start with the screen that better protects me from whatever is attacking me, set up rocks, yawn, then the last screen. I may sometimes yawn again depending on if they switched out the previous pokemon.

Well there is my team. Hope you like it. I think it could use a few tweaks and i was wondering if ya'll could help. Much obliged. Oh and if someone can tell me how to put the sprites of the Pokémon in the thread that would be awesome.

For starters, if you aren't using Encore on Clefable, use Chansey. Magic Guard alone isn't enough to supercede the value of 250/105 Special Defense. Also, you're in a bit of trouble against lead Mismagius, particularly those with Thunderbolt. In fact, your team is pretty much had by the same Mismagius set that you have listed. Your team could quite honestly use a Registeel, probably in place of one of your levitators. That's all I'll say for now.

I think you can afford the speed drop from HP fighting with all the T-waves you're throwing around. Also, you have two big weaknesses. Specs Alakazam can outspeed your whole team and OHKO Primeape, Mismagius, Clefable, and Cloyster with the right move (Psychic, Shadow Ball, and Focus Blast) assuming screens aren't up, and Uxie and Slowbro are always 2HKOed on the switch. Spiritomb is a perfect 'zam counter, boasting immunity to Focus Blast and Psychic, along with 'zam's two biggest fears: STAB Pursuit and Shadow Sneak. Secondly, you have a HUGE ghost weakness. If a Mismagius gets a sub up, it's basically game over. I recommend Encore on Clefable to stop that. Without encore, you're better off with Chansey; Cloyster can take physical hits like a champ to offset Chansey's horrid defense. I like Primape though!
