ORAS OU My Zard Y Sand Offense Team Ver 2.0 (Peaked 18th) Before Metagross-Mega Suspect

Hello Everyone, Today we have the upgraded version of my previous double weather team http://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/my-zard-y-sand-offensive-team-peaked-1843.3515766/#post-5688638. I promised myself that ill do this RMT this weekend and since this team got me too reqs on my main account Terry41 for the Mega-Metagross suspect test I believe its time for me to share this team with the community and any thoughts or positive criticism on the team is appreciated. So Lets Begin.

Music Recommendation: Heres the song I usually played when i was laddering with the team http://listenonrepeat.com/?v=Q2W2TeUUYps#Avatar_Soundtracks:_Agni_Kai_[Extended]

Proof of Ladder: The account I peaked with this team was my ALT Jack41:

Charizard @ Charizardite Y
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Focus Blast
- Roost
- Solar Beam
- Flamethrower

Zard Y is pretty much the focus of the team Since it supports sand very well. either 1hko or 2hko also all the pokes that can wall sand offense team like Gliscor, Rotom-W, Hippowdon, Suicune, Skarmory Quagsire etc..... The reason why its modest instead of timid is because Their really nothing it wants to out speed as a special wallbreaker and because Its flamethrower 2hko mega sableye even at plus 1 SpDef. Flamethrower is mainly because I dont want to miss.

tyranitar.gif

Tyranitar @ Focus Sash
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Ice Beam
- Dark Pulse
- Fire Blast
- Stealth Rock

OR

Tyranitar @ Smooth Rock
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Crunch
- Ice Beam
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock

Tyranitar Is here Because I wanted to add the sand rush Combo with Excadrill. I chose Special Hazard T-Tar because Physical T-Tar wasnt working with the team well enough because T-Tar was being Will-O-Wisp'd alot. Also Ice beam and fire blast does alot of damage and potential OK pokes like Ferrothorn, Gliscor, Landorus Skarmory and Scizor/Mega Scizor. The reason i chose focus sash instead of smooth rock was so it survive a hit and deal damage and the extra 3 turns of sand can do more harm then good i rely on the sand rush combo.

But to do certain things like the new bulky lando set that been outspeed speeding my sash ttar lately I have been using the smooth rock ou support set and Its been working okay but it forces to to play more offensively with thundurus and zard Y. either TTar is pretty good for the team.

excadrill.gif

Excadrill @ Life Orb
Ability: Sand Rush
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Iron Head
- Rapid Spin
- Rock Slide
- Earthquake

Intially I usually use Jolly excadrill on my sand team so I wouldnt risk speed ties with Adamant drill but I really needed the extra offensive power so I can handle against stall pokes like chansey and scarf Lando-t because their threats too this team. Also I have 3 ground immunities so that helps too.

-1 252+ Atk Life Orb Excadrill Iron Head vs. 0 HP / 24 Def Landorus-T: 136-161 (42.6 - 50.4%) -- 1.6% chance to 2HKO
252+ Atk Life Orb Excadrill Earthquake vs. 4 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Chansey: 320-376 (49.8 - 58.5%) -- 98.8% chance to 2HKO

azumarill.gif

Azumarill @ Choice Band
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 68 HP / 252 Atk / 188 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Aqua Jet
- Waterfall
- Play Rough
- Superpower

Azumarill here is the replacement for keldeo on the teams previous version. Since lando-T scarf was a huge threat to the team because I lack things to hit it on the previous team. I need something that can hit it before its u turn. Also since I need more offensive power to help break stall pokes like ferrothorn and chansey Azumarill just kills two birds with one stone. The reason for its speed being high is because I wanted to make sure I dont speed tie with usually banded and belly drum Azumarills.

thundurus.gif

Thundurus (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Superpower
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Thunder Wave

Thundurus main role on this is as a special attaker to deal with bulky water types and pokes like skarmory so Zard Y didnt have the pressure to get rid of threats to sand alone. The reason for superpower instead of Focus blast is A. It hurts the soul when focus blast miss don't you dare say other wise and B. It has a good potential to 2hko Chansey. Thundurus helps against Bird spam. Proirity T-Wave helps me gain the speed advantage and help me revenge kill against set uo sweepers. TBH when i was building the team I really i added Thundurus because i wanted something that can handle Mega Gyarados even if it setted up or not so thundy can either kill it or ensure the revenge kill.

dragonite.gif

Dragonite @ Lum Berry
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- ExtremeSpeed
- Earthquake
- Dragon Claw
- Dragon Dance

God I love this pokemon. Its really helps supports this team. Dragonites main reason is because I needed smething t deal with lead sash breloom because that poke cripples my team. I fucking hate going against lead sash breloom. The way Dragonite deals with lead breloom is the Dragon claw then extreme speed combo so that no matter what breloom does because of Dragonite's Multiscale and lum berry its Counters it. This same combo helps counter Thundurus and talonflame. Also Dragonite is a great late set up sweeper after its counters and checks are gone. In conclusion this dragonite set can beused to the best of its ability IMO on this team

P.S Double weather really helps against rain teams if u know how to time weather well.

P.S.S I just made some grammar corrections because my good friend Lord_Ray kindly pointed them out. So thank you buddy. If theirs any more grammar corrections I apologize in advance.

I really like the team! Upon using it I found that it has no glaring issues aside from a fast rock user, like scarf lando t although thats minor because azumarill deals with most rock users extremely well! Basically great job man, I am impressed. I also literally just made an account to comment on this, I liked it that much haha.

I can try, I just started the suspect test (literally today) so I am cramming to hit that 2700 coil, if I get some nice replays I'll share them with you

wow really cool team, but I have a few changes that might help. I believe that you should run Special Def ttar over Defensive Tar. Specially Defensive ttar, can take a focus blast from ttar which is nice, and you can bluff the scarf with smooth rock. Specially TTar also does a lot better of a job, at taking draco meteor from latios. I personally think you should run pursuit over earthquake, and stone edge over ice beam. Wisp tflame is an annoying threat to your team, and without stone edge you won't be able to break through it with ttar. Pursuit allows you to pursuit things like gengar and latios, which can be huge threats to your team. Another thing you can try if gengar is still a problem is run chople berry also on ttar. Its common in ubers to run chople berry on tyranitar, so mega gengar doesn't shit on them, and I have found that it works well in regular ou.

Also a little nitpick. I really prefer timid with fire blast on zard y, because I like to run max speed. However if you want to keep flamethrower and modest for the power go ahead.

Besides that nice team.

So we've got such a good team here,ZardY+DNite+Thundurus+Sand is really awesome and powerful.I love how you've managed to incorporate all of these threats into one team and manage to make it work :]
I just tested out this team,I beat Halycon who's a very respected player and member on the forums:
