Nasty Aron

Hello,
I usually like presenting teams that work quite well, but today I need your help for a team that I really need to improve.
As the tittle suggests, I wanted to build a team around a very gimmick but funny pokemon : lvl 1 Aron

I think everybody knows him : he abuses endeavour for amazing kills.

He can really destroy entire teams if his counters are over, but it's not easy to prepare this sweeping.

Team building process :
First of all, Aron really like the sandstorm to OKO more than half of the metagame. Tyranitar is an obvious choice, because Pursuit is a great help to deal with ghosts.

So we can consider (even if it's not really true...) that I can take care of ghosts.
So, what are the other counters that threaten Aron ?
Rock types and Ground types resist the sand storm, and are (often) weak to toxik spikes, so they could be usefull to OKO more pokemon. As Aron is really weak to hazards, a spinner would be appreciated : Tentacruel can fit well here, he is also a good partner for Tyranitar, taking fighting, water and steal attacks.

The third type which is not disturbed by the storm is steal, so Magnezone seems to be a good partner.

As Aron is really slow, he hates statuses that would be thrown to him. He also appreciate wish support if he has been damaged for some reason. So Xatu, who can also reflect hazards, will be the next one.

As it is a rather defensive team who just prepare Aron sweep, I need a correct typing balance. It's easy to notice a triple ground weakness (Aron is weak to ground too, but he's actually weak to every type if he can't have health back). Celebi brings me the usefull heal bell if Aron have problems despite Xatu.

Tyranitar (F) @ Leftovers Trait: Sand Stream

EVs: 252 HP / 104 Atk / 56 SAtk / 96 SDef
Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd)
- Pursuit
- Ice Beam
- Stealth Rock
- Stone Edge

He will often be the lead, especially against non weather teams. SR are usefull, if an opponent with 1 HP has switched and want to come again. Also cool if Aron is not able to sweep anymore. Pursuite is supposed to be nice against ghosts, but Gengar will hurt with Focus Blast, and Jelicent can burn and wall until I die, so this job is not often done well. Do you think crunch is needed to do it well ? Ice beam to take care of dragons, Gliscor and Landorus on the switch. Stone Edge to hit different things with a neutral coverage.

Quite defensive spread, I could find a more interesting one.
Somebody suggests a scarf set, but I would have to give SR to Celebi, who already has just two offensive attacks. I could also letting SR on Tyranitar, with the scarf, to bluff the classical set and be able to revenge kill later ? A good team always have a counter to Tyra, so he will often have to switch after using SR. He would also be able to be quicker than an opponent using taunt.

Celebi @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure

EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 Def

Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Heal Bell
- Giga-drain
- Hidden Power [fire]
- U-turn

Heal Bell and natural cure are nice to deal with statuses that would otherwise threaten me. Two attacks for a correct coverage, and U-turn which is really nice to let Aron coming on the field. He is also a good answer again rain dance teams, and brings two really crucial resistances to this team : water and ground. His double weakness to ground is quite annoying, but covered by Magnezone, such as the Dark and Ghost one. Fire, ice and fly hit are well taken by Tyranitar and Tentacruel.
I'm thinking of Shaymin to replace him, I keep the water, electric and ground resistances, just lose the fighting one, and he has less weaknesses. Same trait, same stats, and the powerfull seed flare could be precious against bulky opponents.

Tentacruel (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Liquid Ooze

EVs: 252 HP / 160 Def / 96 SDef
Calme Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Rapid Spin
- Scald
- Toxik Spikes
- Knock off

A precious pokemon. Rapid Spin is wonderfull to keep Aron alive, scald can burn annoying physical sweppers. Toxik Spikes are nice to let Aron OKO rock and ground types. And knock off can help against many pokemon that rely on their items, especially leftovers and Shed Shell. Scald is also precious against some walls that hate being burnt
With Tyranitar, I've two special walls that compliment well each other : Tyranitar is immuned too psychic, Tentacruel resist fighting, steal and water. The grass and ground weakness are covered by Celebi.

Xatu (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Magic Bounce

EVs: 252 HP / 216 Def / 40 SDef
Relax Nature (+Def, -Spd)
- U-turn
- Wish
- Psychic
- Sucker Punch

Quite unusual set, but he really fits this team. Psychic is an obvious stab when needed, so he can counter fighting types which are annoying for Tyranitar and Magnezone.
And he is a perfect partner for Aron, as his trait takes care of hazards, statuses, leech seed... Wish + U-turn can help healing Aron. Sucker Punch is absolutely unexpected, and funny to finish a Rock/Ground/Steal pokemon with 1 HP, and can also hurt (a very little bit...) ghosts. Quick attack is another option, but not sure to KO physical steal/rock walls if they have leftovers, even after endeavour.
Somebody suggests toxik, but it would be redundant with toxik spikes. Moreover, Sucker punch's role is to be an unpredictable priority, so Xatu is able to hit a powerful opponent with just 1 HP left without dying.
To answer another comment, the -Spd nature is not really here to have a more "powerfull" U-turn, but because I appreciate when he takes a it before U-turning, because if he is quicker than the opponent, Aron won't be able to come on the field.

Magnezone @ Leftovers
Trait: Magnet pull

EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SAtk
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Substitute
- Charge Beam
- Hidden Power [fire]
- Thunderbolt

A classical set, no need to explain it. In four words : Kill steal with fire !
Also brings nice resistances to the team, such as dragon, flying, steal and grass.
A good answer against some threats such as Cloyster.
Another set might be more usefull, I'm not really convinced of this one, maybe a choice item and Volt switch would fit better in this team.

Aron (F) @ Shell Bell

Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 SAtk (yes, useless, I know)

Brave Nature (+Atk, -Spd)
- Endeavour
- Metal Burst
- Roar
- Toxik

The star of the team. The funny thing is that he takes care of many major threats, such as all the dragons (bar the unusual Flygon), Volcarona, Blissey (even if Thunder Wave is boring), Rotom...
He is the late game cleaner, but can come in quite early if there is no ghost in my opponent's team, to dig holes. But as the team really relies on him, if he's dead too early, it's just game over, or almost.
The three other moves are fillers. Metal Burst is the most "powerfull" attack I could find, but Aerial Ice could be used to be sure I will take 1 HP.
Roar if I predict an obvious and annoying switch-in, Toxik is nice against Jellicent.

This team is really funny to play with. Destroying terrible sweeper with a lvl 1 pokemon is just amazing, many oponents quit the battle.
But their are still annoying weaknesses :
- Other sandstorms are a pain, because many pokemons obviously resist this weather, so Aron will score very few OKO.
- Gliscor can pp stall endeavour, or just use sword dance and kill the entire team, thanks to his toxik orb.
- Jellicent and Gengar are hard to kill, and immune to endeavour. Gengar is also immune to Toxik.
- Offensive Jirachi with Fire punch to kill Magnezone, and flinch to take care of Aron is really hard to deal with.
- Hail is a huge problem if I'm not able to win the Weather war. But I don't really have problems with Rain and Sun.
- Multi Hit attacks, especially from Cloyster, or when they are unpredicted (Double chop from Haxorus for example).
- Unpredicted Trick, Flinch.

I also need a good revenge killer, my team is really slow. Scarfed Landorus might be nice, but I don't know what pokemon I could drop without breaking the balance of the team.

So I'm waiting for advice to improve this team. Everything can be changed, except obviously Aron. I think moves and EV spread are really not optimal.

i can help! dont use aron. waste of your time.

Lol do you even know how he works? Anyways, SubDisable Gengar seems like a pain for you to face, try switching to the Choice Scarf set or Chople Berry instead of Lefties

Also, for Aron, I'd run Protect or Stealth Rock over Metal Burst, since it Metal Burst can only do like 10 damage :<

I'd suggest using Bold nature on Datu since all U-Turn is there for is for scouting purposes, there isn't much need for a lot of power. Plus, Xatu has fairly respectable speed at 95 base and can outspeed a few things even without investment. I also suggest using Toxic on Xatu over Sucker Punch. It spreads Poison to help Aron sweep against Rock and Ground types. Xatu's main goal is to come in on a predicted status move from a wall, then spread around your own status while grabbing the momentum, so Sucker Punch is unneccessary.

Please expand your descriptions for a few Pokemon, they are not quite up to Rule 3 of the forum rules. Thanks

Thanks to those who made constructive answers.
First of all, I've expanded the too short description, sorry about that, I hope now it's enough.
I answered some of the suggestions in the description of the sets.
I might try chopple berry on Tyranitar, but the scarf seems to be more interesting. But it brings a problem to use SR.

Sucker Punch (or Quick attack) is really needed : Xatu is my only pokemon who can learn a priority attack. Don't forget I often face opponents with 1 HP left (steal, ground, rock, but also other one if SS is not on the field), I want to be able to kill them without sacrificing Xatu. The -Spd nature is cool to take a hit before u-turning, so Aron can come in without troubles.

Protect on Aron is a very good idea, thanks. I might put it instead of Toxik, that I've never really used.
Metal Burst can do 16 damages (11*1.5), so it's its more "powerfull" attack... but still not enough if my opponent has leftovers, so I will put Aerial Ace, that will always do 1 damage.
SR could be nice if I use a scarf on Tyranitar, but I wouldn't often have occasions to lay them.

Thanks anyway for the ratings, any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Whoo... Quite a lot of problems here.
Threats:
Scizor
Gliscor
Skarmory
Whimsicott
Basically, any priority user/ ground-rock-steel+flying/stall. The list goes on.
In fact, there are so many counters, I'd say just ditch the aron idea, or use it as a backup and change your team around so you don't rely on aron to 'sweep'.

Hum, quite strange list.
Thanks to Magnezone (and the help of u-turn users to avoid double switch), Skarmory is not a threat at all, and Scizor is not that dangerous ; Scizor doesn't appreciate Aron either, even if he can't be OKO.
Whimsicott can't do anything against Celebi (and I don't often see him).
I don't see why priority users would be a problem. My team is very slow, and Aron is the slowest pokemon I've ever used in OU, so I really don't care if he's attacked by a priority user.

Gliscor is actually threatening, but I think that a scarfed Tyranitar with ice beam, or a scarfed Landorus with HP ice, might help a bit.
The real problem is jellicent if I'm not able to poison it, and teams where almost all the pokemons resist the sand-storm.
But I've already tried this team, it works quite well when I'm not facing this threats.
I don't pretend to peak #1 with Aron, but it's very fun to play with this team, so I just would like to improve it.

Nobody else to help me ?
I really need a revenge killer, and I don't know what I could change without breaking my defensive balance. Scarf Tyranitar isn't a real success, maybe I should try with Magnezone, and give him Volt-Switch ?
Or should I change a pokemon, and use Terrakion or Landorus ?
