XY LC Nasty Passing Like a Madwoman

Hey guys, Luka here! This is my first RMT so please be gentle. ;~;

The Queen
Togepi_XY.gif

Togepi @ Eviolite
Ability: Serene Grace
Level: 5
EVs: 236 HP/ 156 Def/ 36 SpAtk/ 76 SpDef
Bold Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Baton Pass
- Fire Blast
- Dazzling Gleam
Togepi is probably the most essential part of this team. With the idea of the team being to come into a situation where Togepi can switch in and get up a relatively free Nasty Plot, the stats listed help you survive virtually any hit to get up the Nasty Plot and Baton Pass. With only two mons to pass into, they have to be strong, right?

Your Worst Nightmare
Taillow_XY.gif

Taillow @ Choice Specs/Life Orb
Ability: Scrappy
Level: 5
EVs: 36 Def/ 200 SpAtk/ 240 Speed
Timid Nature
-Boomburst
-Air Slash
-U-turn
-Hidden Power Fire
Taillow is the ultimate wallbreaker. With Togepi's Nasty Plot, or just in general, Taillow can kill most of the metagame with his moveset. With a Nasty Plot up, Boomburst will kill most mons in the entire tier in one shot, with Air Slash for Mienfoo switches and U-turn to predict a switch that Boomburst may not kill with (and Hidden Power Fire for those dirty nasty Ferroseeds).

The Play Maker
Chinchou_XY.gif

Chinchou @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Volt Absorb
Level: 5
EVs: 52 Def/ 232 SpAtk/ 224 Speed
Modest Nature
-Hydro Pump
-Thunderbolt
-Ice Beam
-Volt Switch
This is the one and only Chinchou. Not only being a monster in the tier, with a nasty plot boost passed to it, and having scarf, this thing is quite simply a MONSTER. Hydro Pump and Thunderbolt for stab, and Ice Beam for coverage. Volt Switch for predictions or just a general +2 volt turn. =)

The Wall.
ferroseed.gif

Ferroseed @ Eviolite
Ability: Iron Barbs
Level: 5
EVs: 84 HP/ 188 Def/ 148 SpDef/ 36 Speed
Careful Nature
-Leech Seed
-Stealth Rock
-Thunder Wave
-Bullet Seed
This is guaranteed to not only take pretty much any one hit in the entire metagame unless it's x4 effective, but serves as a nice half cleric/half support mon to switch in on other things, particularly Vullaby. Leech Seed for HP sap, TWave for the broken mons switching in, and Bullet Seed for a damaging move.

The Truck
Vullaby_XY.gif

Vullaby @ Eviolite
Ability: Overcoat
Level: 5
EVs: 116 HP / 236 Def / 76 SpD / 40 Spe
Impish Nature
-Knock Off
-Brave Bird / U-Turn
-Roost
-Defog
Aipom is your quick and deadly fake out/fury swipes spamming physical truck. Fake Out for the free damage, and Fury Swipes to abuse that ability (Hope you don't miss, hehe.) Knock Off for just in general coverage and utility, and U-turn to switch out of a scary situation.

The Smooth Criminal
mienfoo.gif

Mienfoo @ Eviolite
Ability: Regenerator
Level: 5
EVs: 196 Def/ 76 SpDef/ 236 Speed
Jolly Nature
-Drain Punch
-Knock Off
-U-turn
-Taunt
This Mienfoo is just for hitting pretty hard and taunting the ferroseed stealth rocks or Vullaby defog. Drain Punch for HP back, Knock Off for the others switching in, and Taunt/U-turn for the combination to stop everything except Drilbur.

That's the team guys! Hope you like it. I'm going to do a few shoutouts and post the Import paste below. Love you all, Luka~ out. ♥

Hello Luka~, nice team you got there, but I do have a few suggestions.

First off, Taunt Mienfoo should have an EV spread of 196 Def / 76 SpD / 236 Spe with a Jolly Nature. This lets you speed tie with Onix and Drilbur, common hazard setters and outspeed Dwebble, which is also quite common. Now your Mienfoo will be very efficient shutting down them and other possible hazard setters.

I would also like to switch up Ferroseed's EV spread to 84 HP / 36 Atk / 188 Def / 148 SpD / 36 Spe with a Careful Nature. With this, you reach Eviolite numbers on both of your defenses and the additional tiny speed boost can give you some advantages.

Your Chinchou Ev Spread is also a little awkward too. EVs: 52 Def / 232 SpA / 224 Spe with a Modest Nature. By the way, next time make sure you invest in special attack, not attack. lol. Dazzing Gleam doesn't really hit much in LC, so Ice Beam instead of Dazzling Gleam, so you could have a better time attacking Foongus, Cottonne, and other grass types.

Contrary to popular belief, Aipom is not a very good poke in LC. I noticed you do have a relatively hard time with Foongus, and your team doesn't have a reliable way to get rid of hazards(Taunt foo can't always get the job done), so I would suggest Vullaby over Aipom. It's bulky and a great defogger. Plus, it's one of the greatest counters to Foongus.

Vullaby @ Eviolite
Ability: Overcoat
Level: 5
EVs: 116 HP / 236 Def / 76 SpD / 40 Spe
Impish Nature
- Knock Off
- Brave Bird / U-Turn
- Roost
- Defog

Anyway, you have an amazing team! Good luck in your future battles!

Hi there friend, great team you have there! Nastypassing can be really threatening when you play it well and if the team has a great support which is present and it'll be even better when you add Eren Yeagar's suggestions which are all solid and I agree with most of them. I do have some few suggestion here and there though:

On Togepi I'll suggest an EVs spread of 236 HP / 156 Def / 36 SpA / 76 SpD over your current one, the spread I gave allows you to hit 14 in Special Defense (you had 13 before) which is 21 after the Eviolite boost without any drawbacks, if you still have a problem with EVs I suggest you to read the EV spreads and stats section in this guide or just play with the slides in the teambuilder.

On Taillow I noticed that you didn't add enough EVs to hit 19 in Speed and 13 in Special Attack after the drop in IVs caused by Hidden Power Fire so yeah you should probably use this spread 36 Def / 200 SpA / 240 Spe with a Timid Nature. Also I think Life Orb is a better option than Choice Specs, while Specs seems to be better it's actually the opposite in LC because of how damage rolls go and how stuff are rounded down while Life Orb is rounded etc.. So Specs does slightly more damage which means that LO is usually the best option as it allows you to switch moves and not be walled by stuff thus switching out which will cause your passed boosts to become useless, also I'll be suggesting to use 19 IVs in HP which will allow you to get only 1 HP damage from Life Orb which will improve Taillow's longevity.

On Ferrossed I'll be suggesting a Sassy nature with the EV spread Eren suggested, this doesn't do much except that it allows you to be slower and therefore hitting harder with Gyro Ball. I'll be also suggesting Bullet Seed over Protect, to be honest the Leech Seed+Protect combo may seem cool and all at first but you'll be finding Bullet Seed way more helpful as it allows you to deal with Abra, Sturdy Tirtouga and plenty of stuff.

Anyways I hope I helped, like I said this is a cool strategy. Good luck!

I totally meant SpAtk, that was a bad typo. Thanks for the suggestions! Implementing them.

Just a minor addition, I think you should replace protect on ferro with stealth rocks. You have some VoltTurn going on here so setting rocks up would really wear down the opp well with that combination. Taillow would also appreciate the stealth rock damage on mons.

Done! I agree.
